Nah ..... this is one you took earlier, Ian!
It's the same here, though!
Did you get rain yesterday?
Jean
:My lawn had literally sprang back to life overnight! Grass is such resilient stuff.
As promised, I'd thought I'd give you an update when we get nearer to the time.
I'm 99% confident that by the weekend, the bulk of the UK will turn out dry with plenty of sunshine, along with warmer temperatures - yes, even and especially over the North.
But, as always with my forecasts there is always a "but", winds may become a fresh east over the South of the UK by then. That may have the effect of dragging low cloud and fog in from the sea to affect Eastern and Southern coastal areas - but Kent is still set to collect some good sunshine due to it being close to the Continent.
You read it hear first, folks! Radio 4 forecast this afternoon promised low cloud and sea mist for SE England! Your seaweed's doing a top job, Ian.
Another warm sunny day around here today.
Jean
- Mr JG reckons we're going to get some rain here on the south coast tomorrow. Is he right? We need it desperately, but I must get a host of gardening jobs done today if it's going to be chucking it down tomorrow! . I have managed to get a bit sunburned which was very silly of me, but nothing bad. When I stay with my parents in Australia I am so careful to cover up and slap on the sun cream but I didnt even think of it going to Maldon ( Essex) for the day.
) today. It's windy, grey and overcast and I'm busy doing my rain dance! We have rain!! And lots of it. Wind. Grey skies.
I feel like I've woken up in Scotland![]()

Not exactly a bowels-tremblingly vast amount

Thank goodness for that! The mind boggles!
(pun intended We got some rain at last overnight and there are still a few spots around this morning.I'm sure all the plants will appreciate it anyway. Hopefully we will get some more to make a real difference to the crops.
See I told you all not to worry this is the UK after all

Indeed as nature does balance itself out in the end. Although at the same time it pretty much rendered this thread as being a bit out of date, hehe.
However, that trip to Central France doesn't seem to be a clever idea at the moment. This is Grele, the heart of France, only yesterday!![]()

In that case, I think we've been expelled from the UK! I don't know how much rain we had Sunday night, but it wasn't enough and by the time we got back home yesterday it had all dried up again. Come on, Chris, I was relying on you for your 2-left-footed rain dance! Have you given up on me and my thirst for rain?
Ian - I'm loving the cartoons - keep 'em coming please!
Jean
I think he only specialises in snake dancing and made things turn drier instead, perhaps that's where we went wrong.

Perhaps not totally wrong - we've had one shower this morning, just after I'd hung washing out and was miles from anywhere walking the dogs. :bang: Reminds me of the saying 'be careful what you wish for - it might come true'. Well its all falling down here, so, job doneCome on, Chris, I was relying on you for your 2-left-footed rain dance! Have you given up on me and my thirst for rain?
