Edit My Images
Yes
Seeing as so many members here have one of these things I'd love to see your examples.

Be it Go Pro Original, Hero 2, Hero 3 White, Silver or Black!

I remember a New York set posted on here taken with one not so long ago.

Mine is just having its first holiday after purchasing it last month and I've got some shots to share when I return.

So what have you got?

Keep meaning to get out with mime here in HK....that is now my mission for the weekend! Should be good for capturing the cramped streets and distant skies:)

They are surprisingly good quality images!

Just bought an extending pole (Gopole) for mine hoping to be able to get it into some interesting positions!

Interesting perspectives, it's nice how easy to use it is. Have been enjoying the once every 0.5 seconds timelapse function for stills.

Good call, I'll be taking mine to Singapore later this year for hopefully the same reason. That and some underwater shots.

Very expensive though the GoPoles! I ended up buying a cheap extendable arm with tripod attachment and then using the converter.

Enjoying the view

I think the problem with this thread is how hard it is to use the GoPro photographically? Anyone else find it's almost like shooting film? With no real idea of the outcome until you connect it to your iPad / computer?

One from a couple of weeks ago, struggling with the processing but I think it's quite action like? Definitely would have struggled with something like this using a DSLR.

Agreed - great shot
It is the unknown outcome of pointing and clicking that i really enjoy using the gopro for stills - same as a fisheye on the omd - so wide and everything in focus it is easy to capture whatever.

Got one last week, hopefully you'll be seeing some stuff soon :)

I took my gopro 3 black to the arctic and back,in February mounted on the dashboard, took 11,000 photos on a time lapse. Connected to car power all the time allowed me to use the iPhone app to view the photos

The gopro app then glued the photos into a video when i got home

Nice little cameras and you can take them where you would prefer not to take your slr

Wen buying one get the back pack additional battery the standard one does not last very long and they are fiddly to change, the back pack one can take a charge on the run

Speaking of batteries, charging/back ups aren't a practical option, so does anyone have any experience with higher capacity batteries. Do they make a noticeable difference to battery life?

Whats the still quailty like? I'm tempted to get one for using in rain and waterfalls etc (for still though mostly) and The video for a helmet camera, I know the video quality is good.

I run 2 x GoPro 2's - the battery life is much better - especially with the extended back than the 3.. It's the only thing stopping me changing them at present.

still quality - struggles a little in difficult situations (into sun for example) but not worse the and ordinary P & S. Examples above in less difficult situations

I own several of the GoPro Hero 3 (Black and silver editions) and cant really fault them, occasionally the batteries in the black edition will run out faster when shooting 2.5 K but fantastic flexibility nonetheless :) I also love how the filters you can buy for them are easy to use and make pictures look stunning. Hopefully get some pics later.

Anyone using the bacpac? Or 3rd party batteries - need some more juice when out

I use the bacpac occasionally it does help but it can make the camera difficult to fit in tight spaces on cars :/ I have tried most 3rd part batteries and the ones that are cheaper then the OEM products dont balance properly when charging and usually fail quickly, I know a place where genuine go pro 3 batteries can be had for £16 :)

Heres the link :)

Ahh cool cheers, ordered a battery - cheaper than amazon

I ordered 9 of them, i mean at that price you can go wrong if you had to many just sell them and make a profit :D

Those batteries are now £13.95 each, just bought 2. Far cheaper than amazon!

Got a bacpac for £38 on eBay new, can do 4hr timelapses now :)

To resurrect this - I've been having a play making a new mount I can fit to the fabric of my paraglider. Which I seem to have got somewhere with now. I think the idea would work with larger kites as well but the camera may weigh too much.Saturday was the first decent day for ages, but being a numpty I forgot to charge the batteries. The mount works well but this was the last frame I shot before it died.
