I'm increasingly finding the overbearing moderators on this site petty and in some cases ridiculous

I do like the site and its been a mine of information but some of the things you get pulled up for are quite frankly ridiculous!

What's this 'ASBO' thing all about across my avatar??? How blooming stupid.

Living in the real world and actually dealing with people on real ASBO's on a frequent basis and the misery they cause I find it totally petty and stupid to even compare my posts on here to someone's behaviour in a real ASBO.

No doubt this post will last a few seconds before its deleted and I'm banned for such blasphemy

I've been a member on a motorcycle forum for the last 6 years without any problems, with this one unless you've swallowed the rule book and small print you get some nannying PM telling you off in a condescending manner. I've also had a problem with a 'keyboard warrior' constantly PM'ing me who no doubt wouldn't dare come and say it to my face

Anyway rant over
 
I am assuming you have been informed the reason for the infraction.

Personally having been an asbo officer for a large local authority for 10 years I find it amusing.

Lighten up fella its a mild rebuke.

II was given (so I'm told) the first TP ASBO as a joke & found the reactions really funny :)
 
While I'd agree that the moderation here is unlike that of most other forums, I have also never been part of a forum that would descend into verbal fisticuffs at the blink of an eye like this one does. I therefore assume the moderation matches the community, and if I wish to use TP then I have to suck it up.

I think this probably depends on the threads being looked at as it varies a lot.

Yes, that's true, and I have really appreciated the comments and input I have received from some members. Just as I've tried to be a useful part of what goes on too.

@Neil, I rather suspect not TBH, and slightly regret commenting in this thread at all. Moderation on most forums is a thankless task, although there are exceptions.
 
The be honest I've nearly always found the moderation on this forum really good :thumbs: I've had the odd minor dispute but that is it, the rules have never been that vast here and actually with the forum Xen switchover were condensed still further :thumbs:
