He'll be happy that he had the chance to get some UNEXPECTED experience at European level, well before any of the Spurs squad expected, and be looking forwards to playing there again for Spurs in the 2012/13 season.

Whereas Fabregas will YET AGAIN be wondering why the trophy cabinet at the Emirates is empty...........and be really happy he joined Barca....

No chance. by this time the mighty liverpool will have got their ***** together :D and with man city also competing I think you guys have squandered your best CL chance for many years

Chelsea v Manchester United tonight - Strange things always seem to happen in this match at Stamford Bridge so I'd be delighted with a draw - a score draw would be even better.

Have to wait and see, but think it may be slightly longer than next season before Liverpool get sorted....

I don't think this is true, if you're doing what if's then madrid should have had another goal for the penalty from dawsons handball. I think you would have got thrashed even with crouch on the pitch, real were just too much for you

No, the extra player makes a big difference, in terms of the energy level of the team and also psychologically. I agree with the Dawson penalty, but the ref went the other way on some other decisions so you get the rub of the green.

Being 4 goals down is a big ask, but you never know. Inter have the same problem.

As I said, 3-1 was my prediction, which was not fa away at all.

there's a massive difference between 3-1 and 4-0. 2 goal difference, thats like saying you predicted it to be 0-0 and it was 2-0 and you weren't far off

3-1 would have meant spurs needed to beat real 2-0 at white hart lane to progress

4-0 means they have to beat them 5-0 to progress.

Those two results are worlds apart

Really! You live and learn.

Is this something that's only applies to spurs, Becouse when Arsenal went down to ten men against Barca ( a far superior) and lost, it was Becouse we are sh!te.

you actually more often than not when a team goes down to 10 men see them close up and become really hard to break down, ok so they don't usually score many goals but they'll often not concede anymore

No, I am saying it made the difference between 3-1 and 4-0. I already thought we would lose.

But yes, you are, in your own words, sh!te!

i think you'd have lost 4-0 whether you had crouchy on or not, you just were sh!te, especially in the second half

Oh well, such is playing in the CL Quarter Finals, not supposed to be easy......

Laurie,

Cheer up mate, there's always 2021

Thanks mate, plenty of chances to watch you lot lose in the quarter/semi/final of lots of competitions on the way as well.

No but seriously, if you had said to anyone when Harry took over that he would get us into a Champions league Quarter Final against Real Madrid , having beaten both Inter Milan, Ac Milan, Bale to ahve scored a Hat Trick at he San Sero finished top of our group and be the joint leading scorers to this point (before last night) then they would have told you to do one, but we have done it!!

No one can deny that Spurs and Harry have had a BRILLIANT season, and its not over yet!!

Im not patronising when i say, as an Arsenal supporter its good having Spurs breathing down our necks again.

It does make it more interesting, doesn't it!

So Chelsea V United.....

As per our last 5 or 6 matches at Stamford Bridge I'm expecting the normal - good goals not being awarded, offside goals being awarded, no doubt an iffy penalty decision and probably sendings off LOL

I'll take a score draw all day long.....

Hopefully it will be the football not the decisions that make the headlines.

Whose the ref? Isn't he the most important player, depending on the colour of his boxers?

Good ball from Carrick, but Giggs made that goal.

We get Suarez and Carroll and get rid of Grumpy Torres and Babel - good business that :D

Has Van Der Sar put clingfilm over the goal again?

It's not often I don't sympathise with a player when the get injured but Rafael thoroughly deserves everything he gets. He's a vicious little git who always leaves a leg out in challenges, or puts his body where it shouldn't be, or shows his studs...I absolutely hate him! (But before people jump on me for just hating all things United that's not the case; Giggs is my favourite player ever, Van Der Sar is an exceptional goalkeeper, Vidic is truly class...need i go on?!)

Still anybody's then.

Happy with a one goal lead though.

Great win for utd tonight, cant see chelski winning at old trafford.

i dunno about this result, we all know that utd are the team that come from behind, i think having the advantage could end up being their undoing. i sense a 2-1 upset against utd at old trafford. i may have to put a bet on this, i usually am right with my inclings, do a quick tp search

"TP Search" isn't bad Joe when looking at your predictions  but your reasoning :naughty: just smacks of the 'king of 'spin'.

United win CL or FA Cup games - you spin it into being bad for us.

United's rivals loose CL or FA Cup games - you spin in into why it's good for them.

I'm not going to multi quote you (as you'll know fine well where I'm coming from) but all your predictions during the tail end of the season revolve around why you think good results for United (FA Cup or Champions League) will somehow be detrimental to United's League Campaign whilst rivals failures (mainly Arsenal's) will somehow allow them to topple our league aspirations.

So far - with your 'correct' predictions - things are looking OK for us.

Of course - the law of averages say United will certainly have a huge dissapointment sooner or later (which is more inevitability than Joe Precidion) but that's what comes with fighting on all fronts and what makes that Treble all the more special.

actually I was referring to my predictions going back further, my season review is more a wishlist and in that I want Utd to get to the final and lose so they are stretched. :D but the way it has gone last weekend I think the title race is pretty much over for the league now as arsenal and Chelsea both choked. I think it's in the bag for Utd even if they lose to chelsea and arsenal

I think it's the world cup thread where I was referring to some very well predicted outcomes

My post was kind of 'tongue in cheek' - although I'm not so sure the league is over. Perhaps I'm just over cautious but there could still be a few twists yet.

First of all let me say that the foul by Evra on Ramires was a clear penalty. Bearing in mind the ban that Ferguson got for his comments on a referee, do you think that Carlo Ancellotti has talked himself into a disciplinary problem with his comments on last night's ref?

Ancelotti said it was "clear" Patrice Evra fouled Ramires but Alberto Undiano Mallenco denied the hosts a chance to equalise after Wayne Rooney's goal.

"It's not easy to give the penalty in the last minute," the Blues boss said.

"You need to have personality, courage and character. Not always do referees have these kind of skills."

in rooneys face, the ban stands. its not just about swearing on camera, its the aggression and way he portrayed himself. Show me someone who has done the same and didnt get punished

I think this weekend could see some interesting games.....

And not just in the Premiership. Swansea play Norwich in a match that could go a long way to deciding the 2nd automatic promotion spot. Interesting that 2 teams from the inaugural Premier League season could finally find their way back there this year.

United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool..........are there more teams in the league?

nice to see the spurs get back on track in the league after a few dissapointing results of late

Going good so far tonight :D

Looking good for LIverpool, which is nice, stopping city getting too far away from us.

Just got back from the Liverpool Vs Man City game i must say City were CRAP(hope they do better on saturday against united)

Proves it's not about money. It's about real team work and great leadership from Manager and Captain etc. Be prepared for further disappointment IMHO. (Can't say too much - Villa supporter....... )
