LIverpool out also, along with Rangers, no British teams left in the Europa league this year, which is a shame.

Just caught tonight's results

Braga 1-0 Liverpool - Think Liverpool should be able to turn it around in the 2nd leg.

Dynamo Kiev 2-0 City. Could be a tough 2nd leg but makes for a good game.

PSV 0-0 Rangers - decent away result for the Gers.

Oh well.

I thought Rangers might have just pulled that off after the first leg result.

well liverpool out of the worst competition there is, and I find myself not giving a damn.

bring on finishing 6th so i dont have to watch the lameness of the europa league next year

Poor performance by Liverpool tonight:( ah well there is always next season:thumbs:

I really despair about the idiots running the game - namely FIFA, UEFA and the FA. FIFA as we all know like to wake up next to large brown envelopes... I mean, why else stage WC in Qatar? And in the last day or 2 we see how inept the other 2 are.

The FA again sat on the fence. Now either Fergie was well out of order, in which case a stadium ban of 5 games would hurt more than having a comfy seat and a small fine. However, what Fergie said was true, the ref had a shocking game and seeing as Managers are forced to do interviews straight after a game, do the FA not realise that emotions will be running high and things may be said?

Then you have Uefa, who banned Wenger and Nasri for a game... for complaining about a decision that NO-ONE thought was correct. Deciding on a penalty or sending off when someone may or may not have made contact is one thing, but the RVP sending off was a complete joke. Surely they should have sacked him as a ref and left it at that.

Champions league draw at 1030 - lets hope we don't get an all English tie. I do prefer to see proper Euorpean football, with teams from other countries, all English clashes are a bit too much like the Premiership, they know each other too well.

Not really that fussed who Spurs get, Shalke seem to be the team with a weakness as they get through to the last 8, then sack their manager. Barca would be fun, we'd go out, but at least we would have played them. An Inter tie would be interesting, seeing as we have already played each and won and lost one.

Guess we wait and see.

Is our Gary doing the draw?
Pull us out a nice one, you old Spurs hero!

Real Madrid vs Tottenham Hotspur
Chelsea vs Manchester United
Barcelona vs Shaktar Donesk
Inter Milan vs Schalke

Well, at least Spurs at home for the last leg, which is good, missed the English teams. Should be an exciting game.
Don't know about the Chelsea/Man Utd games....

semi will be

Inter/Schalke vs Chelsea/Man utd
Madrid/Spurs vs Barca/shaktar

great draw, I'm hoping for a barca man u final again, with barca winning of course

Now, Joe, at the moment your predictions are quite good, why not Spurs for the final??

That was so funny when Lineker dropped the bit of paper for the Final Home Team and then popped up and said Tottenham.

At least we know we're getting an English Semi Finalist and that all 3 English teams aren't in the same 1/2 of the draw.

No all Spanish Final possible now of course.

Bit miffed at getting Chelsea as it somehow never feels like a European game but I wasn't really bothered who we got.

Well lets change you prediction to Spurs then, and we'll both be happy!

Gary Linekar did already announce they were in the final!

Barca/man utd chelsea final? what do you all think?

Barcelona will make the final I'm sure.
If Chelsea beat United then I can see them getting to the final
If United beat Chelsea then it depends on what players United can get back over the coming weeks and how the League title is going.

WBA 2:2 Arsenal

Can see Arsenal getting 3 points here.......

United still stuck and down to 10 men

Arsenal drew just as I had predicted....a shameful game defensively again. As I've said before in this thread, we're so vulnerable at the back there's really no need for any Arsenal fan to anticipate a trophy without considerable changes.

Also sounds like a pretty unpleasant challenge by Evans, I think SAF needs to nip this in the bud there's been a lot of maliciousness on display recently by the likes of Evans, Rooney, Rafael and Scholes. Scholes will never change, he's always had a violent side to his game, but the others need to learn better!

Looked to me like the balll was there to be won and both of them went for it. Evans went in with feet off the ground so red card was probably right.

No doubt the world and his dog will once again be after some kind of public hanging though.

Ah i think you could be right, would like to see them in the premiership next season:)

Am so pi**ed off with wenger. Yet another defensive balls up. You dont see other top teams doing it on such a regular basis! The league is there to be won this season but I really cant see it.

Koscielny and Squillaci are hopeless - he must sign 2 proper defenders in the summer like Cahill and AN Other. A real quality keeper too, although have been impressed with Szczesny of late.

He did look good before he got his finger injury in barca:'(

John Terry as England captain(again). Really disapointed, think it shows really bad management, a bad example to others, and a bad choice for a defender whose England days are neally passed.

And I can't really crow about Arsenal getting a draw, as we did too. But we aren't in the title hunt, and expect to finish 5th, though fourth would be nice..

This been confirmed anywhere?

I don't have an issue. From a footballing point of view only, he is the best man for the job IMO.

Not a great Saturday for keepers was it.

As for Evans sending off, he can feel a wee bit unlucky imo. Both players went off the ground and showed studs. It could have just as easily been Evans who got the gash and not the Bolton player. Kudo's to Owen Coyle though, refusing to comment on the tackle and have a pop at Evans and kudos also to Mike Phelan for accepting the red.

I don't get it. A 50-50 challenge and I think Evans was unlucky but why was Phelan accepting a dodgy red this week yet argued against rooneys definate red that was not given the other week?

Lampard should not be in the team, so no chance there. Gerrard I dont think is as good a captain as Terry.

But as far as i know he doesnt have affairs with his team-mates partners/wives:thumbs:

Cant be good to know when your captain is injured he might be at home with you wife:thinking:

A massive wrong has been righted. He should never have been denied the captaincy, at least not without a clear and obvious contender to replace him. Both Ferdinand and Gerard have far more 'issues' (than Terry) that should have prevented them ever being named captain.

Ferdinand is crocked and cannot be relied upon to be fit enough to string together more than a couple appearances so that, alone, is enough for him to have the captaincy taken away. Besides, I suspect that Capello was thinking that Ferdinand has already played his last game for England.
