It's the loss of the collective though. The pattern of sports is always that one team dominates for a time but it's impossible to keep it up, look through the histories of all sports through the years, dominating teams come and go. I think the next few years will see the end of man u's domination much like liverpool lost theres. It may not happen the second those players leave but I think it will gradually dissipate as another team(s) gets there chance
More simple inevitability rather than anything else I guess.
I wouldn't really use the word 'domination' to describe United over the course of the premier league and we've certainly had dips at times of team transition. Blackburn were a bit of a flash in the pan but there's no doubt that both Arsenal and Chelsea have had periods when they were superior to United.
