I agree, don't think we should have got rid of Sherwood. There's also whether the manager is allowed to say who he wants, Spurs have lost the opportunity of many players, both buying and selling, because Levy is closely controlling at times both the money and the transfers. Having said that, we're a financially secure club who make a profit each year, especially in the transfer market. That is until we develop the whole White Hart Lane business park, thats some scary money to invest.

Don't think Alan Davies will be heading to Stamford Bridge anytime soon..

EDIT - possibly NSFW

Wenger In !

Yeah right!!!

So we lose our 1st game in CL, and two almost impossible games v Munich, so need to win the other 3... so you play a keeper who doesn't play and was awful last time out in a must win game!!!

Yet again he proves he has lost it! Not buying a class defender was also a mistake but we say that every year!

Get him OUT!

Surprising results for Arsenal and Chel$ki.

Wenger will think he was right no matter what, and so will Moaninho, but I think Jose is under a bit more pressure, and maybe pressure he has not had as yet in his managerial career up to now. It is going to be interesting over the next few weeks to see if he can get Chel$ki's form to turn around. And if he tries to whip up some BS to mask what is going on there. ;)

A touch more pressure on the Manchester teams to not lose as well tomorrow. ;)

This is very bad news for England's coefficient

The special one has to be feeling it now. Don't think there will be too much pressure on Arsene as league position decent just 3 points off the top, does look bad for getting out of the group now, but you never know.

I actually would not mind only 1 or 2 teams getting into the Champions League only so if it dropped to 3 I would not be displeased.

Something wrong with the game when people start talking coefficients imho.:( It should be just be a league for Champions anyway.

It is what it is.

Just stating the facts.

It will never go back to being the champions from each league as it's the moneymakers dream in the current format.

I'd rather 4 English teams than 4 Italian teams in the CL

If too many smaller teams start getting in, they will change the rules.

If the Italian teams are getting the results, then as the rules stand, they'll get any extra places, and good luck to them. :)

The British teams are having a bad run of results in Europe. Maybe some of the teams who miss out on the CL places may start to take the Europa League more seriously, especially if it is a way into the CL. ;)

Agreed. It annoys me slightly about the way the Europa league has panned out. The cup winners cup used to have some prestige as did the Uefa cup.

Brought my missus to the Emirates for the first time and looked what happened... At least it wasn't a boring match

I was holding off saying as much but Chelsea have real issues [emoji15]

You can say that again. :eek:I've been expecting them to snap out of it, but it seems to get worse. That once amazing home record is long gone. I don't think Moaninho has been in this situation before, situations that most other managers have been/will go through at some point. It wis going to be interesting to see if he can pull it around.

There's been talk of who would replace Rodgers, but nothing as yet for Moaninho, because it was an inconceivable situation. The way Chel$ki have gone through managers though, who is there left of quality, Klopp? Guardiola? .......?

He's got to turn it around though, hasn't he?

Ancelotti??!?

I would love it if Sam Allardyce got the job.

You know when some people say don't give up your day job, well if you have more material like that, it could be time to. :ROFLMAO:

Ancelotti??!?
Would he want to go back to place that moved him on after having success? I doubt it. Money talks though. ;)

Typical wenger, only 3-0. Get him out!!!!!!
yep. Can't wait for the Wenger out chants. Playing well at the moment. United very poor.

Well, that final score was bit of a let down for many arsenal fans. 3-0 not as big a deal as the media would like to make of it.

Luckily, mr rodgers has been sacked by liverpool, so that'll take over the headlines :)

As if I'm not down enough about United's result - I'm double down that Brenton has been sacked [emoji45]

First 20 mins man utd were poor, The arse were very good with their passing and finishing.
After that, I thought Man utd were about equal and better in the second half, almost as though arse settled for that. I thought they should have carried on And smashed the .

As a Liverpool fan, I'm disappointed by this, he deserved a bit more time.

Very poor, they have not made he best start but are hardly in the drop zone, win the next 2 and in the top 4! Obviously klopp or someone is lined up.

I've just been sitting back and enjoying it play out. Watching Jose blame anyone by himself for each result, I guess he's been having a few dinners with Redknapp!

An odd one. Was always going to be hard to replace Suarez, Gerrard reaching the end etc. I've not seen them this season at all, but I guess they were not playing that well generally, signings not working out as well as could be, and it was felt replace now, new manager time for Jan window full idea for next season. As you say must have someone lined up. Pretty early to go though.

Seems sacking Brendan Rodgers, had already been decided, even if Liverpool had won today. This football is a cruel business

Well. I really wanted Rodgers to do well as I liked his team of
Two seasons ago. I think he's a progressive coach and hope
He gets another chance somewhere.

If I was a Liverpool fan if rather have ancelotti rather than klopp.

Ancelotti is unlikely to come to the club with the fifth highest budget in a league with four CL places.

I have mixed feelings about BR's departure, but I would like to see a manager in place who knows how to organise a defence, plays players in position, doesn't change formation every bloody game, doesn't talk absolute crap every time he's in front of the camera, and, most importantly, has some kind of track record of winning things.

I think BR left us a season to early after his previous positions, but when a club like Liverpool come knocking I suppose he had to go. From our point of view it was a blessing for the money we had for him and the backroom staff, along with the Joe Allen signing. It enabled Ladrup to have a decent budget and establish ourselves.

I have mentioned it before on here on this thread, but his linguistic management training (watch being Liverpool programme if available, the envolope matter was crigeworthy) has got him this far that he believes his own BS and liked yes men like CP around him, who he s*** on this season, trying to cover his Backside?. As mentioned above, he has had his time and money to make his own squad, so the writing must have been on the wall with the poor start.

Again, something I mentioned previously was his lack of knowledge of the world scene and the initial signings he made were known players to him. Joe Alen, Sturridge, Borini, Aspas was going to us etc........... So not sure on the scouting system with them for world class players, a club like Liverpool should be attracting. Who would you class as a world class players out of his signings?

Of those only Borini and Allen were BR signings. Actually, when analysed, his signings have been marginally more effective than those foisted on to him. Whoever the new man is he must be given free reign to sign who he wants.

The signing's was a more general comment. If you believe the papers down here, he was also after Gylfi Siggurdson and Scott Sinclair who both played for us. Who does the signings at Liverpool, do they have a transfer committee or something??

Yep, the committee is the big talking point and definitely part of the problem.

My concern, as a Liverpool fan, is that we'll turn into a feeder club. Just developing the young talent and selling them on.

Every team are feeder clubs to Barca, Real, Cit€h and Chel$ki. :(

My concern is that we start changing managers every five minutes. From one of the most stable clubs for decades, we have changed managers too often for my liking over the last 15-20 year. I was shocked by his sacking, as I think he deserved more time. I would have given Rodgers till the end of the season, unless results got really bad, which they haven't been.

I hope they have a plan B in case Klopp says no, because I can't see that much quality about. Klopp was supposedly waiting for the Bayern job at the end of the season. Would Ancelotti be there for more than a couple of years? We need stability imho.
