Lots of interesting results in the Capital One Cup tonight.

Liverpool made the game harder for themselves by not converting the chances and being taken to extra time. Hit the post about 4x. :bonk: Two more goals in extra time fro 4-2 for Liverpool. :) Injuries to Cissokho, Allan and Toure though. :(

I think Liverpool may be about to buy a new Centre Back.

Peterborough 6-0 Reading.

Burton 2-2 Fulham. Extra time and penalties. Fulham squeak through 5-4 on penalties.

Not to mention the Sunderland game...

Edit: Liverpool need to invest in some slimmer goal posts. That game should have been out of sight last night.

Ramsay was outstanding again last night. I don't think there ws a blade of grass he didn't cover.

Could of done without losing Podolski though - You never know, we may have a new striker by the weekend. Giroud just isn't good enough, the amount of times he misses the target amazes me.

I'll miss the target for half his wages :p

Spurs again spend the cash to sign Erik Lamela - great move.

Now is Arsen Wenger going to splash out on young boys again (or make a move in the transfer market...)

Hum if we get Eriksen as well...

Hugo Lloris
Kyle Walker, Vlad Chiriches, Jan Vertonghen, Fabio Coentrao
Etienne Capoue, Paulinho, Christian Eriksen, Aaron Lennon
Erik Lamela, Roberto Soldado

Not bad at all. And that's just the starting XI - then the strength in depth will be frightening.

Off the bench we'll have Jermain Defoe, Sandro, Emmanuel Adebayor, Nacer Chadli, Mousa Dembele, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Michael Dawson and Danny Rose. Finally we've got a squad that can stay strong through injuries.

Lamela looks a good Bale replacement...

Some strike from Commons

Some strike from Commons

He's been good all night, I like him.

Back to 2:2 I Just hope Celtic don't get caught with a sucker punch.

Great game so far though.

Never mind that, if they don't sell Bale, how do they pay for them all. ;)

Just takea sub out the white hart lane development fund?. There's a lot put aside, but Spurs are regularly high spenders (top 6?) it's just they also make a lot of money selling.

3:2 Celtic in the 91st min

Fantastic stuff.

Commons and Forrest have been superb.

You should

Great atmosphere but don't subscribe to the 'amazing Parkhead' thing.

English Premier League grounds have changed so much in terms of the crowd and the match day vibe. It's all for the best in terms of facilities and families etc but there's no doubt the atmosphere isn't what it used to be apart from the odd big fixture.

Scottish Footy has fallen years behind how the game has changed in England.

Go to Celtic Park on a big night or an Old Firm Game and it's amazing. It's like Old Trafford or Anfield used to be.

Whilst this puts us English clubs to shame its worth remembering that if you go to Tannadice, Dens or Pittodrie - it's 20% full and dead.

Word of warning though - they do YNWA - nothing spontaneous - just cheesy / contrived / planned like Anfield.

Only cheesy / contrived if you have no soul. ;) It's one of the great football songs and when the whole stadium (minus away supporters) are singing it, it's a special moment.

Could be worse though, you could be humming along to the Z Cars theme music as your team come out. ;) Now doesn't that stir the blood.

Strangely - I quite like the Z Cars thing

Eriksen now signed 10.7m

Apparently we're after Hernandez from Man u as well? £15m, could be a bargain

Beaten to another quality player by Spurs. They are ****ing me off now.

Where are you getting these stories of players you've actually signed? There's been nothing official on Eriksen or Coentrao!

Don't worry, the financial burden of this unprecedented spending spree will hit them when the fail to make the Champions league yet again

Let's hope you're correct, but will you be happy with the Europa League... ;)

Haha perhaps you can share your experiences so us Arsenal fans know what to expect...it might be helpful to know what's ahead from someone who's already fallen short of the top tier (and subsequently the 2nd tier) of European football :p

I read Tottenham valued him as low as £8m

This after they sell Caulker for £9m and rate Bale at £100m

I'd sooner throw Rooney to Spuds and let Hernandez and Kagawa develop.

As a TV theme tune it's nice and brings back memories of the 70's, but to inspire a stadium or the players! :shake:

Eriksen was £15m+ when Liverpool were interested. Spurs are indeed fine negotiators if true. ;)

I'd sooner throw Rooney to Spuds and let Hernandez and Kagawa develop.

Dortmund fans start campaign for Utd to Free Shinji. Nice to see the supporters still think so well of him.

We have the Stone Roses :gag:

I think Eriksen's contract has run down a bit and that affected the price.

I saw the free Shinji had gone viral yesterday. I know he's had a few injuries but he was Bundesliga Football Player of the Year before signing for United. The Dortmund fans love him and it must be a shame for them to see him not push on at United.

I still think he has a lot to offer but ulimately the signing of RVP pushed Rooney right into where Kagawa should be playing.

Draw starts at 16:00 I think

Although they're tough to play I hope United get Celtic from pot 4 just because of the local banter in causes.

Being down in pot 3, City will probably get the toughest draw.

Dortmund in pot 3  are certainly worth avoiding.

At least we know what it takes to dine at the banquet. :D

Cruyff's having a bit of bother with his balls:naughty:

UEFA certainly know how to put a show on....it's like a bad episode of Channel 9 from the Fast Show

I await Chris Waddle:D

Horrible group for Arsenal. Marsaille was OK and I love Dortmund enough to relish the chance to see us play them but throw Napoli in there too and it's definitely the hardest group.

Chelsea must be laughing...at least they have a chance of getting out of the group this year

keep watching the news.... ;)
Eriksen had 1 year left on his contract.

Wenger resigned Flamini

Sore one for Celtic

That's fine, but you can't call things as done when there's not been official word on the subject. Unless you're one of these 'ITK' types.

I think Eriksen's contract has run down a bit and that affected the price.

Since two weeks ago! If he's still available on the final day, we may get him for £5m then.

I don't think Liverpool need him btw, central defenders is where any money should be being spent now, especially with the injuries to Coates, Skrtel and now Toure. :bang:

Sorry - thought I'd be first with the news - won't bother then...

In other news, The Gareth Bale transfer saga has now lasted longer than a DFS Sale.
