Cheers Al, will post it after the Rs game.

I see Hill is at left back again. :help:

Odd with Traore and Suk-Young on the bench - he does't seem to like Traore but thought Suk-Young deserved another go. Good to see Johnson back up front, him and Austin is quite a partnership. Midfield looks decent too today, despite Hoilett being out.

What a hypocrite, David Moyes says Everton are holding back the careers of Baines and Fellaini by not allowing them to move to Utd. So holding back their careers just like he must have done for the years he was there.

'Come to Utd, and even though I must have held you back while I was at Everton, your career will now flourish'.

And akr, there is no 'a' in my username btw. ;)

That's not quite what he said........

“I definitely do [understand Martinez’s position],” Moyes said. “But I also know that if I’d been Everton manager and Sir Alex [Ferguson] had come asking for Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini, I’d have found it very difficult to keep them because I always felt the right thing to do was what was right for the players.

“All we can do is do our job here. Roberto is in a new job and I’m sure he’ll get to understand how Everton work. I know exactly how Everton work. I think I’ve signed every player at Everton, so I know exactly how they work.

“I speak to [chairman] Bill Kenwright regularly, we speak most weeks, he was great for me and hopefully he would think that I’d done a good job for him as well.

“There’s no way there’s any disrespect whatsoever. This is just a case where we’ve made an offer and we [United] didn’t make it public to anybody.”

Despite criticism from Martinez and Everton over his and United’s valuation of Baines and Fellaini, Moyes remained unmoved by the anger of his former employers.

“The bid, from Manchester United’s point of view, was a private thing and if and when we make a new offer, we’d keep that offer private and confidential as well,” Moyes said.

“Everton are a great club and they are both excellent players. But the transfer window is open and we can make bids and you can say ‘Yes or no’, it’s as simple as that.

“You are allowed to bid. I think there’s sort of a mixed market at the moment. No one is quite sure where the price is right now.

“We’ve had offers for players at this club which we feel are quite small, so I can see it where other clubs might be thinking it’s not enough value for their players as well.”

Since when has fact go in the way of a liverpool fan having a go at United ;)

I was just going by what it was reported he said on the BBC teletext.

That Moyes is at Utd is irrelevant to me. It's a manager from a bigger club trying to manipulate a situation to his advantage.

There have reportedly been bids for Baines in the past, of course how true reports are, you don't really know, but I didn't then, and I have never heard Moyes saying that one of his players should move on for the betterment of his career if a transfer fee hasn't been agreed. They haven't bid enough for the players, and if he were still the Everton Boss you should be in no doubt that he'd have little difficulty standing in a players way if their value wasn't met. ;)

I would think that there have been bids for Baines in the past, and for the betterment of his career you would want to be at the best club you can possibly be at during your peak years, 26-30. Baines is now 28, and 29 in December. If Baines is ever to go to a bigger club, then he should have moved a 1-2 years ago imho. If there were bids then, and Baines wanted to go, who stood in his way? Moyes and the club. Lots of ifs and buts, but you get the idea. Money talks, and if its not saying the right things, then nothing happens. At the moment, Utd's money is not saying the right things, and Everton even feel it's being insulting. ;)

There is no need to say how he would have handled the situation, just pay, or walk away.

I saw a bit of the Southampton v Sunderland game earlier, and Sunderland were much improved over last week, and Southampton were not as good. Having 2nd thoughts on my prediction for the final table already. :bonk:

I've ust discovered Martin Atkinson is the ref tonight in the United v Chelsea game :help:

Should be an interesting encounter though even if it has come around so early on.

I`m actually going to watch tonights game, see if I can rekindle some interest in the game, hope it is a good match.

Little surprised by both starting line ups:eek:

Bad choice. Utter crap so far. I'm off to bed to recover from Shambala so it'll probably end up 4-4.

I don't think the Utd v Chel$ki game was one to rekindle anyone's interest in football. :shake: Very anti-climatic imho. I think Moaninho went there not to lose, not necessarily to win.

I'm glad I didn't stay up!

Agreed - probably not much in the way of interest for the neutral.

I'd forgotten how boring chelsea were during his last stint:(

I don't think non neutrals could think that was a good game. ;)

Well done for not losing, but not a good game.

Eh!, they happen. :)

I didn't say it was a good game - I chose my words carefully ;)

Can't speak for Chelslea under Mourinho but there was a lot of 'interest' for United fans in terms of Moyes and how we approached the game etc.
