I thought Villa were unlucky tonight at Chelsea.

Sam Mattaface (Chelsea) and Stan Collymore (Villa) made for funny commentary on Talk Sport

Well, thats the Wenger Out banner folded away in the drawer until next week!

So I heard. Cue the conspiracy theorists...

Apparently Anelka has stormed out of training and told staff he's retiring

Anyone gamble on him in their fantasy team?

I think Arsenals latest signing in Aron Ramsey...

Just a totally different player to last year. Oh, and then there's always D'arby - he's like a new player every season, because he never gets fit anyway.

Lots of rumors around Benzima today.

Yep

But I had such a disaster in the first week (despite Chelsea's double game week) that I'm past caring

He's got compassionate leave after his agent (his brother) died.

Could see Real letting Di Maria go once they get Bale but I'm not sure about Benzema based on their lack of other striker options.

Only way I can see it is if Real have another striker lined up or are planning on playing Ronaldo up top.

Suarez? :D

It's all a bit nuts at the moment.

"Chelsea are in advanced talks to sign Tottenham target Willian from Anzhi Makachkala according to Sky sources"

I'm not sure how they fit him in with the midfield they already have to manage.

Does this mean United can get Mata on the back of Chelsea wanting Rooney ?

Perhaps Mata to Barca could free up Fabregas ?

The funniest I heard was:

Ronaldo deal was in place if Bale deal goes ahead. Chelsea take Willian from under Tottenham's noses halting the Bale deal, which stops the Ronaldo deal because United won't sell them Rooney LOL

Madrid in for Suarez now apparently.....maybe clearing the way for Benzema go to Arsenal?

Love the end of the window! Must applaud spurs on the way they've managed the bale saga.

Suarez as well as Bale

I suspect a bigger name than Benzema could be leaving Madrid :naughty:

or probably not

Would rather have benzema than Suarez. Although we need 2 decent centre backs, a keeper and a holding midfield most of all

Standard Chelsea stuff under the special one. Buy the good players so other teams don't have them.

Ain't that the truth ! Old Chelski trick that one (Sean Wright-Phillips for £24m to stop him going to Arsenal for £15m).

I think that once the Bale deal is official, all the other dominos will start to fall.

Thank god for that. Swp was the English gervinho

Agreed

Once that happens the merry-go-round will begin.

I'm still not confident that United will do much though. Regardless of the whole Ferguson / Moyes thing, the offers we've put in have simply been too low for clubs to even consider.

When the Bale deal is finalized and official I can see it getting very busy.

However, as Phil says, I can't see United doing much in terms of that and I also predict you won't get the Fellaini / Baines double. Maybe one, but not both.

Is it naughty of Chelsea to hijack spurs main transfer target or is that just business ? How do people rate him ?

Lots of rumours today that Podolski is off to Schalke on loan. I bloody hope not !

It's just the same Chelsea transfer policy we've seen for a few years. They'll buy him not because they need him, but because it's in their interest to deprive someone else of having him and they have the money to do so. They'll keep their huge squad of midfielders happy with a bit-part role for as long as they can before inevitably allowing someone to move on.

Just checked my team ahead of the weekend.

It's not good

In addition to the Anelka issue I've 5 non starters and I'm already down at the foot of the table.

I may just bite the bullet and change a few players and take the points reduction.

Only once he's signed a couple of players. Not that surprised - his work rate is questionable.

Well he played most of last season with an ankle injury, and when he does play on the left, we defend better because he tracks back. But he is S L O W....

Why Wenger plays him out there when he's a proven striker I don't know....

Here's my prediction for the end of the season. It changed a lot after the first week.

1. Manchester City
2. Chelsea
3. Manchester United
4. Tottenham
5. Liverpool
6. Arsenal
7. Swansea
8. Southampton
9. West Bromwich Albion
10. Norwich City
11. West Ham United
12. Everton
13. Aston Villa
14. Fulham
15. Sunderland
16. Cardiff City
17. Newcastle United
18. Stoke City
19. Crystal Palace
20. Hull City Tigers

I made 6 changes after the first week, :bonk: and used the wildcard. Didn't cost me a penny thankfully with that many changes.

I forgot about about the wildcard - oh well - I'll probably need it again before long.

Changed 3 and lost 8 points.

PS

I wish the Bale deal would go through.

Tottenham are getting their players in regardless so with talk of the Bale deal possibly 'triggering' other moves, I wouldn't put it past Levy to drag it out for a few days.

Heading out to the pub shortly so may review mine when I get back. Probably my best chance LOL

Arsenal 6th !!

You've already played the joker.

Looks like he'll be added to the crowded Chel$ki midfield subject to a work permit. That's quite few players who may not even get on the bench. :shake:

I don't see where the value of Willian has come from, looking at his stats.  Hopefully he will show why he has been valued so highly.

The players that don't play regularly will have to take solace in spending the wads of cash they're getting paid. ;)

Good squad - after all, Mikel and Essien will purely be cover for Lampard and Ramirez as the holding mids. First choice attacking ones are Mata, Oscar and Hazard, with some very good deputies in Moses, Schurrle and de Bruyne. Never heard of van Ginkel so a youngster? They only play with 1 up top and will be getting far into cups and CL.
