A nice mix bag for you to start with there
  • West Ham V Cardiff
  • Cardiff V Man City
  • Cardiff V Everton
  • Hull V Cardiff

Hurrah, the FA Cup moves back till after the season ends. As it always should be. :)

I read a report that Moaninho doesn't rate Juan Mata, and then another that Barcelona are interested in him.

I think Mata is one of Chel$ki's best and most consistent players. Is this a case of softening the impact if Mata does go? 'Well the manager didn't rate him, so we let him go'.

Liverpool start the season at Stoke. Hopefully get Mark Hughes off to a bad start. :D Man Utd 3rd game, hopefully the pressure will be on Moyes by then after two devastating early defeats. ;)

Yep - good news regarding the Cup Final.

As for Mata - I hope he goes to Barca.

United have been trying to get Thiago Alcantara from Barca and if Mata does go to Barca, it may help with that. After Thiago's hat trick for Spain the other night though it seems the world and his wife are now being linked to him.

Andy Carroll has finally moved to West Ham, and thankfully it seems for what we wanted for him. :)

He's the kind of player who needs to play all the time, and that wasn't going to happen at Liverpool under Rogers. Good for Rogers though, for sticking to his guns and moving him on. Some teams would have stuck with someone who cost that much trying to make it work.

Good luck to Carroll. I hope he goes on, stays fit, and fulfils his potential. :)

In what looked like being a quiet time for transfers this summer for Liverpool, there seem to be quite a few deals going on. Spending money they said they didn't have. ;) The Carroll money will come in handy. Seems to be all up front though when we need Defenders.

Japan v Italy

Great game - 3:3 with 10 mins remaining

Best international game I've seen in ages!!

Same here

Japan 3:4 Italy

Japan deserved to win that one. They were the better team for 75 or 80 mins

Italy had a great 10-15 min spell during which they scored 3 and got a late one on the break.

I hope Andy does well at WH. Unfortunately his move to us was never going to justify that fee so I'm glad he's getting a chance to be the player he is rather than a 35 m player.

We'll soon have plenty of cash to spend once Suarez sods off.

Edit: This is a sensible and pragmatic view from Carra. http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2892...l-cant-keep-an-unhappy-suarez-warns-carragher

The Italy v Japan game was good, going one way or the other all the way through. Some dodgy penalties in there too. ;) I think Japan deserved to win though.

I agree with Carragher that the Suaraz situation should be sorted quickly, and that Liverpool should get 'top dollar', but if he doesn't get the the move he wants I don't think things will be as hassle free as he makes out. :shake:

If Suarez doesn't get the move he wants, because lets remember, nobody has put a bid in afaik, he may play at 100% on the field as he always does, but the speculation and rumour would continue, and undermine the team. He may not 'sulk' like Torres apparently did, but he won't be happy. :shake: And while at the moment we are hearing what he is supposedly saying half way round the world, sometimes translated not quite accurately in some instances I've seen, :suspect: it will be different if he carries on saying the same things when he gets back.

As my brother said to me, Liverpool replaced Keegan, Dalglish, Rush, Owen, Fowler, Torres etc. No player is bigger than the club. They come and go. Just keep their heads down and give 100% is all you can ask. Oh, and keep your mouth shut. ;)

Phone's been going mad this afternoon with mates saying Arsenal have signed Higuain from Real Madrid.

Don't know its true or a wind up

Bookies have suspended betting on it. Rumoured for £22m and £130k per week.

If true, good to see Arsenal finally spending some money on an established quality player.

Yeah that's what I've heard, hopefully its true.

I feared for Tahiti against Spain, but it was not as bad as I feared at 10-0.

They nearly kept it down to single figures, which would have been nice. And would have been even better if they had got a goal. :|

Hopefully Nigeria and Uruguay both turn up for a good game. ;)

So refreshing to see such minnows going for it rather than parking the San Marino bus.

I'm still hoping United can tie up a deal with barca for Thiago Alcantara.

I wonder who Moyles is going to let go. Someone posted a link to a Warrington news article recently in another thread, but was from about 4 months ago. Elsewhere on that link there was another link to speculation of Sir Alex making widespread changes ... obviously before the big announcement though.

I wonder who Moyles is going to let go.

I think Nani may go, as he never seems to be a favourite with Ferguson or the fans and is frequently linked with a move away.

I'd let Rooney go as well. If someone makes a fuss about moving all the time, and hasn't been on top form, then let them go and get as much as you can for them imho. I may be wrong, but I think Rooney is on the decline. He may have peaked already.

Has Machedo gone yet? I think he needs to move to kick start his career.

Poyet sacked, unusual way to do it, looks like they really don't want to pay compensation.

Looked like they wanted to embarrass him, doing it while he was live on air. :nono:

Some are saying he already knew, so he may have wanted to embarrass them. Who to believe.

Tevez is off to Juventus then; glad to see the back of him and his off field drama. City have 3 holes to fill in the news this season then - no Tevez, no Mario and no trophies :D

I think Nani may go...

I'd let Rooney go as well....

Nani and Rooney have their faults, but i'd like a season with them under the new boss. Macheda was on loan to Stuttgard and had an option to buy him (not taken up apparently), so wonder if he'll be back next season.

I read on the Teletext news roundup earlier that Rooney would prefer a move to Barcelona.

'Maybe', and that's a big maybe, when he was younger he could have fit into their system, but not now.

They say with the Tevez fee and wages they have freed up £27m. Will only be a fraction of what they will pay for someone else, but every little helps. ;)

Looks like United had an offer for Leighton Baines turned down by Everton today.

I'm still really hoping we can get Thiago Alcantara from Barca. The £70m buy out clause is madness but if he can be had for £17m because of the appearances loophole then that would be a cracking deal. Unfortunately I can see others coming in for him.

Kevin Strootman looks like an another possibility but I can't say I've seen enough of him to form much in the way of an opinion.

Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay has clinched the signing of Andreas Cornelius from FC Copenhagen for a record £8m.:eek::eek:.

anybody heard of him before.

Sorry no! But Malky seems like a good manager, hopefully this Prem money won't lead to a reckless spending spree though.

Moyes first press conference today (Sky 4:00pm ish) - the jury will be out.

Steve Round, Robbie Cooke, Chris Woods, Jimmy Lumsden are all on board along with Phil Neville & Ryan Giggs.

The transfer muppets will no doubt be fishing for news on Thiago Alcantara (I'm keeping my fingers crossed) and Rooney but I'm not sure whether that will be on the agenda.

Rumours are it could be a busy day at the Emirates today.

3 players to be unveiled. I'm not holding my breath lol

There's always been room. The only place thats full to the brim is Wengers wallet lol

It was even on Youtube a few days ago but I think it's been removed now.

Why was the ref carrying a knife? I mean it just wouldn't cross your mind unless you planed to stab someone before the game.

I know, it's crazy.

Remember though that this was an amateur game in a district where horrific things happen on a regular basis. The ref was a young lad and for all we know carried a knife all the time. Some children carry guns and based on the subsequent actions from the people watching the game the ref probably carried it for his own protection.

Suarez to Arsenal? If that goes through looking forward to Jamie and Joe's comments!

That'll never happen. It's a smokescreen to show the fans they're trying.
