My LFC pals want him out. They feel the club have been dragged through the mud for backing him in the past and just think he owes them something in return rather than coming out in the press like that.

Me - I'm not bothered if stays at Liverpool or goes to another country but if the likes of City or Chelsea came sniffing - I'd rather he stayed at Liverpool.

This is how I feel.

You can get loads of players who aren't ****s, well some, they are Professional Footballers after all, ;) but getting as good a player as he is, at a price Liverpool can pay, even including any fee you get for him, is something totally different. :nono: It would take some serious searching, and whoever came in would have to up their game because at the moment there is no obvious replacement.

We all know the negative aspects, but he never stops working, he never gives up. He obviously has a strong (perhaps too strong ;)) will to win, and he does some things that other players don't/can't do.  And most importantly he is a prolific goalscorer, and they are hard to find, and very expensive to buy.

I understand that people don't acknowledge how good a player he is because of the negative things he's done, and the on field personality, I had the same problem with Cantona when I was younger, but he is an exceptional footballer. As was Cantona.

Monaco get Falcao for £50m. Obviously moving for the money, as Monaco may not be in a position to win much for a year or two. That's £110m for Monaco so far. Only the City and Chel$ki fans know how it feels to spend that much so quickly. And there is still a couple of months left to spend some more.

Look, he's a genuinely great player, but I'm sick of the mud he has attached to the club. Can you imagine how much trouble he'll cause if he's kept against his will?

I know replacing him will be tough, but as Jamie said, we have a very decent record without him and 50-60 million wisely invested rather than wasted on a 15 million pound striker 20 mill over paid would make a difference.

The noises all over the internet are he's not for sale, but he can go for £50m. If they can get £50m+ then take it, I just don't like it when £30-£40m numbers mentioned. With Falcao, Hulk etc going for around £50m, I think Suarez is on a par if not better. For some reason British teams seem to take lower transfer fees from abroad, especially when Barca and Real come calling. Just stand firm, and only let him go when it suits Liverpool.

As for him causing a fuss if he didn't get a move, I think he wants to play so much, that he would jeopardise being left out of the team for any period of time if he was dropped for 'attitude'. One would hope anyway.

I must say I'm surprised at how long it is taking for Chel$ki, City, Everton and Stoke to choose/confirm new managers. You would hope they would have plans in place to make the transition as smooth as possible.

Agreed re Suarez.

Everton is an interesting one because they are kind of teetering on the edge and could go either way. I had a lot of respect for Moyes but I'll be interested to see what happens there. I think it's good to see clubs taking their time a bit.

Manchester United v Real Madrid today.

Should be good fun

United: Van der Sar, van der Gouw; Berg, Blackmore, Irwin, Johnsen, Martin, Stam; Fortune, Robson, Scholes, Sharpe; Cole, Sheringham, van Nistelrooy, Yorke.

Real Madrid: Contreras, Sanchez; Cannavaro, Helguera, Hierro, Pavon, Salgado, Sanz; Amavisca, De la Red, Figo, McManaman, Makelele, Zidane; Alfonso, Butragueno, Morientes, van Nistelrooy.

Some serious talent on display there!

Very poor display by England. Amazingly its still 0 - 0 thanks to Joe Hart.

England certainly looking lame in open play despite a great equaliser.

Lampard looks too deep, actually playing deeper than Jones which is odd. Rooney has two men glued to him which is giving Walcott lots of space but he's just wasting everything.

Recorded United v Real Madrid as I was out earlier. 130,000 or so attendance over the two legs which is fantastic for charity. Lost the first game over there 2:3 and today's game 1:2 but great entertainment with some true greats (and beer guts) on show.

Jesus Navas to city according to the guardian. That's a big signing. He's a very creative wide man that should stretch their current midfield more. Slightly envious of that one!

What's happening at Monaco is crazy. Their average home attendance this season was just 5,841 for last season.

The Falcao situation is an interesting one too because of the role his third-party ownership plays in any career decision. The likely explanation could be that he's seeking a move to Real Madrid and rival Atletico would never sell directly to them.

On top of Falcao, they've brought in Rodriguez and Moutinho from Porto who are both exceptional players. They're also rumoured to be interested in Hulk, who's had a rather unhappy season at Zenit from what I've gathered.

It's a crazy side for any team to assemble in a single transfer window, let alone one that is newly promoted.

And what happens if they get kicked out of the french league? Sunday morning pub sides?:lol::lol:

Martinez at Everton. Bah should have put a bet on when I called it at the start of may!

It's not officially announced yet, Joe....and until he's sat behind the trestle table, with a pen, a contract and a scarf behind his neck...he's not ours. Plus, he could still fail the medical, anything is possible with Billy Liar involved!

^^^ they were posted a while back in the 2012/13 thread...............

they are absolutely horrendous, but will go perfectly well with a shell suit ;)

It's a shame there aren't too many teams that play in red or white at home, making them wear that purple thing all the time!

Well, the odds are available for next season with a couple of interesting ones.

QPR appear to be clear favourites (bookies obviously a lot more optimistic than the fans) at around 5/1 but the most intriguing one I've seen is Palace at 14/1.

Be interesting to see who is with us at the start of the season, both in terms of existing players and any new additions. I personally think we could do without signing anyone other than maybe a left and right back, but you know Harry does not view it that way, and I doubt Fernandes will say no to him.

The biggest question is who will be playing up front. Also, I see young Hogan's been recalled from Toronto. Hopefully that means he's in Harry's plans for next season.

Looks like Cesar's thrashing out a deal with Arsenal and Brian Murphy's signed a new contract so, with Green, it looks like the goalkeeping position is sorted at least.

In attack, before we sign/sell anyone else, we have our pick of Cisse, Remy, Mackie, Hoilett, Zamora, Johnson, Bothroyd and possibly DJ Campbell, should we offer him an extension. You would assume Remy will go, but who knows now he has the charge arrest hanging over his head, and assume Cisse will be back out on loan.

Midfield is another area we are overloaded at present. Granero, Park, Tarrabt, Derry, Jenas, Mbia, Diakite, Barton, SWP, Faurlin, Hogan and I've probably forgotten someone.

Defence we only have Traore as a left back, and he is often injured, right back Bosingwa only and he might be off (possibly Harriman from the youth team but unknown at present), not sure if Luke Young is still around. CB we have Hill and Onuoha, Samba if he does not go and I guess possibly Anton Ferdinand.

Let's see - I'm still to decide whether to renew my ST, but probably not this year.

I've only just noticed the thread title is now Season 2013/14

No rest for the wicked !

Jeez have you guys seen the new Liverpool away jerseys. Horrendous!!!!

I was hoping that they were internet rubbish, but they are real rubbish. :(

A positive of Liverpool changing kits so often is that I got last years home top in the club shop for a tenner on Monday. :D

They would have to pay me a lot of money to wear the away kits. :shake:

I would have liked this as the away kit, but it's just the Goalie's top.

Whether Reina will actually wear it in a game for us is another question.

Inspired by the ugliness of the new Liverpool away kits, a website has done the 20 ugliest kits of this century.

Denim! Spots! Blood stains! Jaguar skin! They are all there, along with a few beyond description. Not safe for those with weak stomachs and delicate sensibilities. :shake:

Of course, because they are from this century, no brown Coventry kit.

 Man City are buying all these players and they even don't have a manager

Nice one Scotland! Always seem to manage an unlikely victory in failing to qualify for a competition.

I know lol.

A few of my mates have been over there since Wednesday living it up.

Doesnt bother me, us West Ham fans have always had a good rapport with City fans.
If they win the league five years in a row i'd be happy for them because we've got no chance of winning it lol. :)

I know United were linked with him before it was reported he was heading off to Bayern but it now seems like Robert Lewandowski could be available again.

I'd love to see him come to United but City are reportedly now also interested. Based on some of the things I've read about his agent Cezary Kucharski - City would be the most likely.

Watched the Brazil v Japan game last night which was enjoyable. As usual commentators wetting themselves over how good Brazil were/are. They were good, but never as good as they make them out to be. Japan seem to get better every time I see them.

There was a segment in the program about the goal line technology being used there and I was surprised to see it is an optical system relying on multiple synchronised cameras. Surely that only works if the ball can be seen.

not long for the football fixtures now to say im excited is a understatement:)
