I doubt Chelsea fans would say it spoiled the game. Clean sheet, a couple of goals, that's football sometimes and it's about getting results.
 
Some moronic Liverpool fan on Talksport just now was shouting for Rogers head. Thick t***.

I understand that argument and we did it under GH too, but I hated it and always will.
 
I had the Liverpool game down as a draw because I thought Chel$ki would trip us up. The icing on the cake though would have been Torres scoring at the end. I think it may have gone through his head the reaction he may have got if he scored, ;) but seriously, he did exactly the right thing for an easy 2nd goal.

There may still be twists and turns, but at the moment we have passed the initiative over to Cit€h.

Liverpool need to play better than they did today to get a chance if they slip up. (which I doubt) Suarez didn't play well, but then not many did. :rolleyes: :(

It would be a pity if all this support ended up not rewarded.

If he hadn't been fouled would have been 1 on 1. Foul carried on into box so good decision.

And how I wish Wenger would take note, sometimes whether its CL or Prem you have to win ugly and come away with the points.

I bet you wouldn't be saying that if you had played their game and won today. I don't mean week after week of playing like that but just today.

I know how you feel though.

I've gained grey hairs over the last 20 years. We've won the title more times than we've not but with the highs come lows.

I've actually enjoyed a year off in terms of the stress :)

I would though, I really would. It's just not the Liverpool way and I don't enjoy watching that kind of football. Football isn't win at all costs for me.

Well today was horrible, all the Idiots Utd fans came out of the rotten log they have been hiding in with smug looks on their faces.

So told were to go and that they don't have much to crow about.....I knew the only Utd fan in the team would not go to site today and be in the office!
 
As a lifelong utd fan I always thought I'd prefer anyone else other than Liverpool to win the title, but after watching Chelsea's anti football performance yesterday I think I would rather the scousers won it now, at least they want to win and play attacking football, rather than the s***e Chelsea served up.

And Mourinho looks like he's lost the plot lol

With PSG involved in the dubious naming rights way of getting around the rules, I doubt City will get pulled up over that either. :rolleyes:

It only work if the impose strong consequences for breaking the rules.

Trouble is, in any situation like this the organisations being regulated are usually one step ahead of the regulators, because they have (1) more resources and (2) more incentive.

I mean, this admission from Platini is worrying, but I bet it won't turn out to be the only grey area:
Platini said he was unsure if that "innovative" sponsorship deal with a related party played by the rules..

FFP was never really about punishing the big boys, more about looking after the smaller clubs.
 
The only fair punishment is a transfer embargo.
 
Part of me was hoping for a Chelsea win tonight against Atletico if only to have some domestic interest in the CL Final.

Both of those sides can 'park the bus' with the best of them so first goal was crucial - or so I thought.

Had Chelsea gone 1-0 up in the 70th min rather than the 40th min (or at least held their lead held till the 70th min) then the blue bus could have worked.

1-1 a few mins later and with Atletico's away goal - that really didn't suit Chelsea one bit.

They still had the whole of the second half to work with and (strangely for a Mourinho side) went for it and got done.

Hazard after the game tonight - not a happy bunny - "Chelsea are not made to play football. Chelsea are made to play on the counter attack."

My Father in Law (a native Spaniard) has been an Athletico fan all his life, so I'm well chuffed for him. They're having a bit of a season of it to be fair.

Sad for Chelsea, but nice to see the Master of narcissism put in his place for a change :)

I agree about the whole cringeworthy 'not celebrating against your former team' thing though.

Perhaps the ultimate example was Denis Law. Playing for City, he scored that back heel which (often referred to as the goal relegated United) pretty much sealed their fate. He still hasn't got over it.


To be honest - I think a token arm in the air is all that's needed for a goal anyway. Imagine the reaction if you or I took our top off and ran the full length of the office after meeting a deadline or winning a contract. :)

I think a player should look pleased, excited he'd scored, but 'routines' are almost as annoying for me as the non celebration. I swear some players just want to score so they can perform some crap dance or display a cryptic message on their shirt (is that banned now?) or or or ... oh I'm such a miserable sod :D

I think it depends on the association and affinity with the club. For someone like Torres or Joe Ledley a couple of weeks ago against Cardiff they are boyhood teams, they're supporters of the club and probably still are. I don't think I'd celebrate against my own club in that position.

I'd betcha if Torres had scored at the weekend against Liverpool he'd have been still celebrating now :D

As for routines, no not cool. I don't like the fingers to the mouth of the crowd or the hands behind the ears celebrations either.

I'm not so sure. :thinking: I think Torres knows the feeling against him from Liverpool fans, I doubt he would want to make that worse. There are some player who thrive on being the baddie, I don't think Torres is one of them.

It only takes the wrong player, to do that in front of the wrong set of fans, at the wrong time, and it could all kick off. :cautious:

The one that irritates me is the need to take off the top off after scoring. :rolleyes:

When I was younger I never felt like taking my top off after I had scored a goal. I know they are proud of the condition they are in, but some of them have another top on underneath. :eek: So much for showing off their muscles. When I see one taking his top off after scoring a goal I just think 'D**k, yellow card'. Makes it a bit worse when it's one of the team you support. :mad:
