Yeah, I know

USA! USA! ad nauseum

worth getting beat if it stops the scousers winning the league

Not an actual fan then? I remember 95 when a load of reds wanted us to lose against Blackburn so the mancs wouldn't win the league. Sod that! I always want my team to win.

I remember all my Liverpool fans willing LFC to loose that game against Rovers.

I obviously wanted United to win against City tonight but with our League campaign over then (only after loosing) I'll look at the table

I'd rather Chelsea won the title that City but if 3 points for City hamper Liverpool then so be it.

That's just the way it is and it's been the same for Liverpool fans for 20 odd years.

I'm not enjoying this season but it's very refreshing to be (like Liverpool have been) whereby I can just sit back and enjoy it ;)

Have a feeling if Arsenal don't finish 4th this is Wengers last season in charge.

Do you know how bad that sounds ?

Not really Phil, not sure I know want you mean.

It's just a gut feeling that I have that Wenger will walk away this season.

Unless regular top four finishes (or the financial gains of doing so) result in League Titles or Champions League Cups - then what does it matter if you get regular top four or not ?

Oh I agree, and have done for years. The problem we fans have is the board view 4th as a very successful and financially rewarding season.

Wenger is stuck in the middle with the impossible job of keeping the board and the fans happy. The guys had enough and I believe he won't sign a new contract at the end of the season.

He moved football on technically and largely positively, but did not foresee the vile influence of money rich oil folk of russia and the middle east. It's easy to laugh at arsenal not winning anything for half his career there, but he lost with more dignity than other teams have won ... do the fans care? Probably not.

Celtic, Rangers, Blackburn, Chelsea, City - They have all outspent Fergie to win League Titles.

Others (Liverpool being one) have outspent him and failed.

Give him his due - Wenger is still the only manager to top him (sometimes) with less at his disposal.

yes been a united supporter since mid 70's and although i wanted us to win tonight it wouldn't have made much difference to our final position in the table and i also would rather chelsea won the title

I always want my team to win regardless of the consequences on the teams around us. I supports club 100%. I also don't stop watching my team when we lose. That's as bad as the fair weather fans who leave the ground before the final whistle. Taking up a seat that someone else, a real fan, could have had.

So excited about the team being back home tonight. The atmosphere will be electric and I expect us to win 9-4 or something equally random and mental. Probably be our first 0-0 of the season.

Who are you playing ?

Sunderland. 1-0 after a nervy first half that we totally dominated, but found hard to get through 14 defenders. Stevie G with a classic free kick.

2-0. Sturridge with a cracker. Slight deflection.

Should be points in the bag then.

Finishing off some work so will catch the end....

God, that was nervy. Not sure I can handle another 7 like that!

I need to meditate before bed - I'm wired!

And relax................... :D

frustrating first half tonight, even after steves free kick, sturridge's goal settled things down and coutinio was running rings round the sunderland players after having a very quiet first halfbut we played too deep and gave them too much time on the ball, a goal was always on the cards for the last quarter of the second half..the ref was a bit of a shocker not just for us but for sunderland supporters too in some of his decisions...he deffo needs to go to specsavers
we need to keep up the momentum for sundays visit by spurs, every game is a cup final

Certainly a good atmosphere there last night, although lots of frustration towards the end. The whole game there was a lack of movement. The ref was horrendous but then they all seem to be be now.

I do pick some nervous games to go too!

I didn't see the game, I only watched the text on the LFC website but even so my fingernails were in danger in that last 10 minutes or so. By all the accounts I've read (BBC, Sky and LFC) all say the ref had a bit of a shocker. After seeing the clip that led to the first goal I definitely think the player should have walked, unlike the Hull goalie who did walk for no discernible reason. I've seen the clip of that too and it did seem very innocuous and for me it wasn't a sending off and a debatable penalty at best. With all the refereeing decisions this weekend and the few games this week it does seem that the ref's are getting worse as the season goes on. Hopefully the lads will pick themselves up and deliver a killer performance against Tottenham on Sunday.

Just seen the Hull keeper has had to stay in hospital overnight due to kidney damage. Makes you wonder whether, if there was any foul in that incident, it should of gone the other way. You don't usually get a kidney contusion without getting a good knock to it.

He did have a shocker. Seemed almost incapable of making a decision -thankfully it didn't hurt either team too much.

Re the Hull keeper: perhaps he did it landing??

As we have no hope, my preference is for Liverpool to be champions. Really hope they can do it.

Well, well, well, Chelsea losing today makes things interesting. A draw in the late game would help...

Come on city. Has the wind been blowing and wengers face is stuck in that scowl? :)

I don't think I can take this as a Liverpool fan, HUGE game tomorrow now!

Blimey, it's now in our hands. Win every game... I can't see it happening though. I mean who has ever won 14 in a row to win the league after finishing eighth the season before??

City are a game and 1 point behind you.

and you have to play them ... I get it now :D

Think how I feel as a spurs fan...
No idea - if Everton win in the early game, you could potentially finish the day in exactly the same position as you are today; out of the European places. Whereas liverpool could be another step to potentially winning the league for the first time in a century

Still cities to lose thou, right? ;)

Now one is talking about Liverpool for the title, even after winning in a difficult match against Sunderland. I want it too stay that way....I am going to be cranking from 4pm for a couple of hours at least tomorrow now.

What a run in now! Very unexpected points for us today by beating city! Don't Liverpool still have to play Chelsea and City?

Got to admire what Rodgers has done in terms of improving the players.

Got to beat spurs first but the atmosphere at the match tomorrow will probably be rocking!!

I think you mean 'this Century'. ;)

Interesting results today. I didn't expect Chel$ki to drop points, never mind lose.

Cit€h didn't seem to be on form today, at least for the 2nd half, which is all I saw of the game. Arsenal really took the game to them.

Lots of twists and turns to come I think. Great season so far.

oh well it looks like the championship for cardiff city next year and im not even dissapointed i hate the premier leauge.

Well see you next year. Redknapp will do do his best on his limited budget to get us into the playoffs, just behave when come down to LR :-) .

Not sure who I want to win the Premier League, prob Man City as the only fans who been through genuinely tough times supporting their team in recent times, 2 relegations etc. Always had good support. I like Rodgers and the way Liverpool play, but despite their obvious talent, can't stand the front 2. Certainly don't want Chelsea to win, and Mourinho especially who has been more annoying than ever this season. I like Wenger but they don't look like they will do it this year.

I'm beside myself. We're supposed to ease our way into being contenders, not do it all at once! I can't cope!
