Less if the we! I'm Greek/British and only one of those countries has a football team. The greatest international football team in the world :)

So... what would your 23 man England squad be - injuries etc... allowing? Mine:

Keepers
Hart, Ruddy, Foster

Defs
Cole, Baines, Jagielka, Cahill, Jones, Johnson, Dawson

Mids
Gerrard, Wilshire, Henderson, Barkley, Townsend, Lallana, Ox, Sterling, Carrick

Atts
Carroll, Rooney, Sturridge, Crouch

My team would be:

Hart
Cole Jagielka Cahill Baines
Gerrard Wilshire
Townsend Rooney Lallana
Sturridge

My thoughts...

I dont think we have great right backs but have left backs in abundance. Cole is fit and experienced enough to be better at RB than say Walker or Johnson. I remember Winterburn playing at RB in the late 80s at Arsenal and doing fine, even though he didnt have a right foot! I would rather see us use both of these players. Johnson could be a reserve RB in case of injury, with Jones also being cover.

I was tempted to include milner as he can play anywhere but prefer the players I have. I personally like Carroll as an option up front, but Sturridge for me is on great form. Crouch can deliver goals, Henderson is better than Cleverley and a Wilshire replacement if injured, with Carrick covering for Gerrard. Ox and Sterling can be pacey subs. If Carroll was injured then its tough to decide on a replacement, possibly Lambert. On recent form though I would be tempted to swap rooney with carroll!

Why on earth would you start Townsend over Sterling?

Personally, based on their club form, I'd start Henderson & Sterling - as well as Sturridge & Gerrard.

You wouldn't need Carroll AND Crouch, I'd take neither. "Crouch can deliver goals" - this isn't 2007 anymore.

Townsend has been very good in his few England games, and while i like Sterling, he would need to blow me away in the next few england games to jump ahead.

Henderson has been great, but I favour Wilshire ahead of him.

Crouch - simply the best of a very bad bunch! Defoe has lost it, Lambert is not someone to use at a hot WC... who else is there? Was tempted to go with just 3 atts as we just dont have anyone.

Surely club form matters here? Not the few games the youngsters have played for England?
"Lambert is not someone to use at a hot WC" - have no idea what this means? His age? Gerrard is a year older.

I'll be back when you start talking about football again.

Lambert is not the quickest at the best of times and is an average player .

Club form is important but so too is international performance - if Hart was dropped by City he would still be Englands No.1 (or like cole being ahead of Gibbs and Shaw)

Blimey, we'll have forgotten your name by then. #Moyesin
I'll probably just start posting anti-rodgers stuff to cover up the inadequacies of my own team and bragging about how I won the odd fiver on a hedged bet ;)

I can live with that. ;)

Any of you Gooners optimistic about tonight's game or will it be the Kroos show again ?

No Kroos :(

Ozil a let down.

An Arsenal goal would help the game.

Watching Barcelona v City - currently 1:0

I know The other Barca goal goal should have stood and they should have had a penalty but boy do they annoy me.

Just because they choose to play tippy tappy 5 a side side football - why does that mean nobody can be remotely physical with them ?

Game after game I see it - any contact and they all just stop play and complain almost forcing the ref to pull the game back.

Thought City did Ok on the night and could have had a pen but it was probably over after the first leg.

I still think they should have avoided Barcelona had they known the rules though.

Big game Sunday. I'm worried by the bullish confidence shown by most LFC fans and I do not rate us favourites for the game at all.

The Mancs have got some decent form and are looking better. I fully expect us to play the concede territory game and attempt to hit them on the break.

I'll take a point.

I think you're clear favourites.

Bit of a role reversal this year. Liverpool under presure to get 3 points and United have nothing to play for other than trying to be the party poopers.

Agreed about what we have to play for, but we are not clear favourites at Old Trafford. Not ever, and you know that.

If you're not 'clear' favourites, then you're 'favourites' at least.

I suspect you're being understandably cautious however you're challenging for the title and our home form is dire.

I've not adjusted to our ability this season.

I never understand how one or two wins displays good form, or a striker getting a goal after a drought to be the start of a run. We've had about 30 decent minutes in the last 3 games and not even against top opposition. We're due another 1-4 humiliation.

Nothing would please me more, but I don't see that happening.

Well, Villa winning has livened things up a bit and made tomorrow more interesting.

Great to see yet more incompetent refereeing yesterday. Did I miss anything for Willians 2nd yellow, how on earth is that a booking? Same for Jose sending off. Complete joke.

Then stoke blatantly handball with no penalty... And how pardew can push his head into a player, get slated, sent off and a massive ban, and then hart just gets a booking for much the same is beyond me.

Hangover from hell today - not a good sign.

I may have to have a beer ready for kick off.

I'm feeling rough after being woken up by Noah before dawn. Might just skip the match and go to bed.

As if!

God, you really are shockingly bad, aren't you?

What a game. 3 Gerrard penalties, should have had a fourth, but shouldn't have had one of them that we got. :$ One of those penalties missed, when history could have been made as the first to score 3 penalties. Rafael should have been off twice. Apparently the Ref said that if Rafael had handled the ball in the middle of the pitch, or stopped a goal chance he would have give him a 2nd yellow. WTF!:confused:

Vidic unlucky to go off, Sturridge went down over nothing for the penalty, but then he should have got another penalty a few minutes later. Flanagan lucky to stay on. And MotM Suarez pops up to get the 3rd.

Nice to say and see, but Liverpool were by far the better team on today, and weren't even playing their best. Utd looked very poor. If they can't get up for a Liverpool game then they have problems. Nevermind, I just worry about Liverpool. :)

We were immense. The Utd fans were a disgrace. Our banner though, beautiful. Football genius indeed. #moyesin

United poor as expected but at least Liverpool scored a goal so I don't have to hear Moyes banging on about penalties.

Despite the defeat it was Great to hear "20 times, 20 times" loud and clear for most of the second half. At least the fans are better whilst we're down.

The result doesn't bother me but Moyes could do worse than listen to Nev's comments on Sky during the game.

Bigger fish to fry now in the CL but not hopefull on that front.

I was always happy to write this season off and give him time but I'm now officially on the fence regarding Moyes. If it was a case of 'make do and mend' then fair enough but with this Billion quid deal round the corner I'm not so sure.

Another beer I think lol

I didn't even know it was the southern softie derby today - bonus !

I can see you getting stuffed midweek too.

I can see you getting stuffed midweek too.

It's possible given our current form.

Not sure we'll "get stuffed" on the night but given we're 2:0 down I can certainly see us going out.

Could really do with Spuds getting a draw today, that would be perfect after Liverpool's destruction derby at Old Trafford today. Villa did Liverpool a real favour yesterday, just need someone to do the same for us with Citeh now. I keep thinking the bubble is going to burst under Liverpool but it's still holding firm for now, hoping it holds for another 9 games.
