Lets have the final prediction tables then al. I make it a win for dean, think I'm joint second with tom

Your wish is my command! ;)

FinalTPLeague.PNG

So some joy for Liverpool fans as The23rdMan claims top spot. Arch rivals \ long lost bickering brothers Tom and Joe share 2nd spot, Phil gets to experience the unusual feeling of failure, whilst I think finishing joint bottom is am improvement on the rest of the season.

Only Joe predicted the top 4 correctly, and only Tom predicted QPR's relegation, what is clear is the top of the table is easiest to predict, the bottom 3 next easiest but harder, and mid-table pot-luck (says the person finishing bottom :) )

Honestly I hope Redknapp goes. Every press conference or quote from him drives me insane.

The ultimate not my fault, I need to sign more players blah blah blah. You can leave with the rest of the overpaid under-performing. Bring on administration, it was more enjoyable than this intolerable weekly rubbish spouted out.

Inaugural Barclays Under-21 Premier League Final

Good game with a second half comeback

MANCHESTER UNITED 3
Vermijl 60
Cole 74, 88

TOTTENHAM 2
Obika 29
Pritchard 42

Surely Cazorla would be your best signing??

Was split on this. I think he has played well, and created chances, however I have felt he can go missing, kind of great one game, anonymous the next. Tough call, as I like the way Podolski plays, and have also been impressed with Giroud and his work ethic. I will often favour industry over creativity!!

thanks Al, I'm glad to have beaten my mortal enemy Phil in this, although he did beat me this year in the fantasy football so I guess thats even.

Was glad to beat my other mortal enemies in the fantasy football also - especially Jamie who I know takes the ff challenege incredibly seriously  top 15 finish wasn't bad at all

 for someone who takes it "incredibly seriously" there were an awful lot of weeks where I forgot to make any transfers or even adjust my team selection and captaincy, particularly in the latter half of the season.

You really do clutch at the smallest of straws to feel you were right/better than other people.

Thanks everyone for having a go at this. :)

Here's mine,

- PLAYER OF THE SEASON: Luis Suarez. He was better than Bale for more of the season, but the Suarez negatives scuppered any chances of winning any personal awards. He added consistent scoring to the skill he showed last season.
- YOUNG PLAYER OF THE SEASON (Under 23): Philippe Coutinho. It would have been Sterling if he hadn’t of arrived, and Sterling would have kept up his form for more of the season.
- MOST IMPROVED: Stewart Downing
- BEST TRANSFER: Philippe Coutinho. Sturridge has been scoring loads, but Coutinho makes them, scores them, and could have a huge future for Liverpool.
- GAME OF THE SEASON: Newcastle 0 - Liverpool 6. So much for being a one man team and relying on Suarez. ;-)
- GOAL OF THE SEASON: Luis Suarez v Newcastle. A chap in total control of the ball.
- MOST EXCITING PROSPECT FOR NEXT SEASON: Raheem Stirling. Hopefully he pushes on from a good start. Jordan Ibe who played in the last game is supposed to be a better prospect, but I haven't seen that much of him.
- PREDICTED LEAGUE FINISH 2013-14: 4th. Though that’s being optimistic, and depends on who we buy in the Summer.
- BEST RIVAL MANAGER: Benitez did a great job, under extreme pressure.
- BEST RIVAL PLAYER: Christian Benteke. He tore Liverpool apart.

Are you sure about that Jamie?

Looking back through your gameweek history over the last 12 weeks it was only week 37 you didn't make any adjustments.:lol:

That just proves how serious you take it  you have to make up an excuse

come on dude! It's only a wind up

And in total there's 11 gameweeks where I didn't make any transfers.

I see there's only 5 where you forgot...and I'm the one who takes it seriously?

I'm not making up excuses at all. I started as a bit of fun in a league between my friends (when they closed a 100 point gap I came back to it in the closing weeks), so I thought I may as well enter the TP league too.

You beat me, well done, but don't inflate it to be something more serious than it is.

If there's one thing that successfully sucks the fun out of a lot of things on this forum it's your constant one-upmanship. I only hope it's something that's simply lost in translation on an internet forum and not a true representation of what you're like in person.

Seems like Tony Pulis is on his way out of Stoke...finally!

Really? Shame. I appreciate u don't like him or stoke but he has kept them mid table for a few years as well as a final. He has done a good job considering and often this type if change nimally results in the team doing poorly rather than improving. Blackburn & Bolton spring to mind.

As well as disliking him and Stoke, I actually don't think he's achieved a great deal with them. He did well to get them promoted in the first place, but since then he really hasn't done well. They've been in the top flight for 5 seasons. In those 5 seasons they've been the 3rd highest net spenders (behind City and Chelsea) yet have always finished between 11th and 14th. For £80m of investment that's a very poor return. They've actually finished higher in their first 2 seasons in the premier league than they have in the more recent 3 seasons.

Edit: I've just remembered about two months ago I read a suggestion that Steve Bould could take over at Stoke this summer and at the time shrugged it off. Now it seems quite plausible. I wonder where that would leave Arsenal re. an assistant manager!

For all the money that's been invested during his tenure they really should have improved and got better results. The reason that haven't is because he is a one-dimensional manager, who really does play the worst looking football going.

Hmm, but Pols can't play 90 mins. I just think it's pretty obvious that Cazorla has been a lot more effective during the course of the season.

With Pulis gone and Wigan relegated, the 2nd longest serving manager in the premier league is Pardew at 2.5 years. Brendan Rogers is now 6th after just 353 days! Football is a crazy world.

And now rumours are flying about Pardew. Not so convinced these are true though!

I take it you're talking about serving with the same club? Wenger & Moyes (still our manager) are ahead of everyone.

Yes, sorry, with one club.

Moyes is still your manager? When does he start at United? I thought he was theirs already.

caroll officially a west ham player

15m sad to see hi go though I always liked him

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22618340

He was never going to stay with Rogers introducing his passing game to the side.

Any particular preferences for transfers this summer, Joe?

I saw you're linked to Schalke's Papadopolous. If you get him he's an incredible centre half and only 20/21 years old. His tackle success is something remarkable this season!

Also saw you linked to Kolo Toure...that's perhaps not quite so good haha!

Although he's yet to agree, there aren't many other offers on the table. He won't ever fit into Rodgers plans and Allardyce has had nothing but praise for him since he has come back from injury, and to be fair he's had a decent season at West Ham. I think he shoud sign.

Carlton Cole being let go as well.
