There we go. Well remembered!

aye but the ref sent him off.

In this incident the ref did nothing, and yet he saw it happen. Therefore he deemed it wasn't worthy of a caution

not sure what the FA could do after the event, sicne the ref felt it didn't deserve any punishment

And there we're into another debate about the silly rule that events the ref has seen can't be dealt with retrospectively.

Tottenham making Inter Milan look quite amateur this evening!

Any weight to these newspaper reports of Rooney leaving at the end of the season? When Andy Townsend mentioned it I obviously thought he was chatting his usual rubbish...

All media nonsense judging from Fergie's press conference. It amazes me how the press think they can question such a successful manager's tactics after all these years. No wonder it's so rare that other managers establish themselves.

Fergie also once said of a link to real madrid for ronaldo

"Do you think I would enter into a contract with that mob? Absolutely no chance. I would not sell them a virus."

so you cant really take anything he says seriously

It comes down to whether people want to speculate, without fachts. The facht is Fergie said Rooney will be at United next year. Whether he is or not, only time will tell ;)

They've done it to Wenger week in and week out since he first arrived at Arsenal. I quite like the rare occasions when they crawl out of United's orifice and give him some of the same treatment :D

I think you can justifably question wengers tactics over the past couple of years.

Exactly.

Fergie says whatever lines he thinks best suit United at that moment in time. Whether it's true or not doesn't bother him in the slightest.

That said - Rooney didn't exactly look fed up against Madrid when things were going well.

A pitch especially prepared for the divers in the team :D

Just because someone has had success doesn't mean that they can't be questioned about the decisions they make. I'm sure every manager would not like their decisions questioned, but if you can't question decisions when a team loses, when can you?

Make for very boring press conferences if the media didn't ask any questions and just hung on every word a manager utters. :shake:

You know what I mean; Rooney is dropped for a game against Real Madrid so therefore they've fallen out and he's being sold? Why couldn't they just accept it was a tactical decision, that was actually working up to the sending off?
Do you follow press conferences to learn about your club or have a laugh at other managers fachts? ;)

Boring press conferences doesn't stop Ferguson from banning every press member under the sun from his conferences at one stage or another for daring to ask questions he doesn't like rather than just suck up to him :D

West Brom are charging Arsenal away fans £39. We charged their away fans £25.50. Where's the press story about that? Arsenal dare charge £1 more for a top flight clash though, and it's all over the place.

It'll probably come up in the news after all the tickets are bought. I thought there was a high profile campaign about this, or was it only newsworthy when City are affected? Just saw that the linesman in that incident was punished too.

It does make me laugh when fergie bans press. I wonder if he'll ever actually grow up? And if it will be before I do.

Sir Alex 'Peter Pan' Ferguson does have a certain quality about it...............Long may he reign!

The Arsenal fan who threw a banana on to the pitch near Gareth Bale is to appear in court and has been banned for life by Arsenal.

Obviously it's not something that you want to happen, but every club has their idiots and I'm glad Arsenal have been swift in banning him from the ground.

Not quite sure why the Daily Mail felt the need to include mention of the usual chants made towards Adebayor. Well actually I do know why they they've dropped his name into this article, I'm just not going to say it ;)

It makes United fans laugh too
I hope not
You're already Victor Meldrew ;)

10/1 for a draw...tempting!
Even 20/1 for an Everton win is worth a little punt.

I stopped betting a little while ago but I like looking at the odds :D

Edit: the odds are climbing quickly as well!

Find the odds on the number of Everton players left on the pitch at the end. ;)

A few Everton yellow cards since the third goal, and they are not playing well. Wigan seem to want it more, and are playing with a bit of calmness in contrast to Everton.

Moyes is going to have to earn his money at half time.

As is Martinez, to stop them putting in one of their Jekyll and Hyde performances. ;)

I suppose this is the start of Wigan's trademark late push out of the danger zone and up the table. If only they did it from the start of the season

(I know it's an FA Cup game btw)

Villa away next week - win that and we will be one point from safety. Lose and we are probably down.

Were you at the game Al?

Sadly not. Apparently I had failed to provide the correct fixture dates when my better half was organising some visits to friends, so I instead spent the first half being interrogated by a 4 year old girl about who my favourite prince and princesses were, interspersed with some games of hide and seek and trying to stop my 2 year old poking their cat in the eye, and the second half driving back from said friends...

Good to see Zamora playing 70+ minutes and Remy as well, if they are playing we have a chance.

Would love to be going to Villa next week, but away trips are a thing of the past for me now.

Did you manage to catch any on a stream, did we play well?

We dominated up until they scored on the break. The defence had very little to do for the 1st 20 minutes so they were caught a little cold and 3 Sunderland players ended up unmarked the the 6 yard box. But other than that they never were in any danger and Green had very little to do.

All in all, a very pleasing performance and good to see Bosingwa and Park carry on their good work from last week. Remy looks like he'll score more often than not and Zamora did his job well. Gawd knows where the ref got 5 minutes injury time from but as least the 3rd goal meant it wasn't too agonising. Townsend and Jenus's goals were beauts, such a shame Townsend is only on loan, definitely a star on the rise.
