Well, three of you saying that I'm daft for saying the race for the prem title is over.

I'll come back an quote you all at the end and revel once again in being right. I'll bring knives, forks and some humble pie and all you'll need to add is your words

Wrong, Joe. I am not calling you daft for saying Utd have won it - I am just agreeing that you are daft.

And in doing so you are agreeing with the rest, for that was the reason I was proclaimed to be daft.

You're in agreement by proxy I'm afraid and will be subjected to the same eating humble pie punishment as the rest

So now you are telling me you know what I think? Nice!

Joe's daft to say it's over after last season.

I actually agree with joe. Can't see them losing it, especially after last year and having Rvp.

I'm now feeling confident that number 20 is coming our way.

So much so that I am considering putting my customary Cantona 7 lettering on each new United search on hold for a year. Then if we win it I will have on next years shirt, 20 Solksjaer.

Exactly.

Not only that but city are not the same team they were last year. They will drop more points, they don't have what it takes this season to come back like they did last year.

You heard it here first and I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is.

It would take a lot of money to fill my mouth

Watching Motd and the commentator has agreed that Sturridge was clipped at pace on his trailing leg but he reckons he went down late.........of course he will go down late as it his last leg to try and regain any balance.....do these folk not understand about 'tap' tackle physicality? Then the commentator said it happens too easily.....I would pay to see Jonathan Pearce try and run!

Penalty for me.

I thought artetas push was dodgy. I don't think any extra punishment is needed.

Thought the WBA sending off was a joke.

Wow, you think spitting at an opponent is OK.........I am flabbergasted!

You can come back and quote us at the end of the season but it will mean nothing as the end of the season is not game 25.

You can try and weasel out of it all you like Phil, you can evn try and twist my words if you like, it ain't gonna fly! I didnt say the season is over. I said the title race was over.

What on earth am I trying to weasel out of ? - you're the one making predictions.

You're saying the title race is over at game 25 and how at the end of the season you'll quote us all and tell us how you were right etc etc

Most people would predict United for the title now. That's not much of a prediction to make given the lead they have. All I'm saying is if they do go and win it - it wasn't won or lost at the 25 game stage.

As it happens I think City are far less likely to make the climb they did last season, but I know all too well not to make any sort of predictions in football!

Jamie...aren't those quotes from Joe from the season that utd won the league?

United 9 points clear with 39 points available and it's "all over"

despite

United 8 points clear with 18 points available last year and we lost it

ABUs are always premature when it comes to proclaiming that United have a title in the bag. Less credit due if they win it and all thrown away if they loose it.

Haha, so they are! I even checked the years and thought we were still in 2012. Bed for me :bonk:

Edit: Here's the correct ones

Joescrivens - 10-03-2012, 08:45 - I'm calling it a 20th league title for united.

I think the run in is going to trip up city and united will slice through their teams, they'll win by a clear 3 points

Joescrivens -13-05-2012, 15:48 - Well well well.

Just remember who called it uniteds title way back in February.

On the one hand it's a shame that crapchester united have won another title, but on the other it just goes to show how great our league is that you can never know what will happen, and there is no such thing as a cert. it gives all teams that extra hope that they can get that one result.

I do find it hilarious that city could throw away a certain title with their only home loss all season to a 10 man team!

Maybe even England can win a competition one day!!!

The other good news is that I have a pound on this outcome! Mwwwahahahaaaa, quids in for me.

Joe, I didn't say it is likely City would win, but it is not over yet. Look at the equally daft bookies who paid out on Utd last season.

Of course I agree that the odds are heavily stacked in utds favour, but history tells us that football has the constant capacity for shocks and surprises.

Last season was "special" it won't happen this season. Mark my words. United will have the trophy sewn up with games to spare.

I think you've completely missed everybody's point Joe.

You didn't answer my question.

Didn't I

One last time then :bonk:- 9 points is nothing when there's 39 to play for - it's not the title race over.

You must be able to deduce from that sentance that people (including me) are saying that there's far too long left in the season to play the 'throwing it away' card.

9 points with a handful of 'should win' games (like last season) would be the sort of stage I'd be using phrases like 'thrown away'.

Surely that's clear now and I wont have to ask the lord for strength ;)

I'm with Joe,

Game Over! When United collect the winners medals, hope they order an extra one for Wenger. Because without his help, united would be 6 points behind City.

thank you, you have answered it now. You don't think that united would have thrown away the title if they lose it now. I disgaree but thats largely irrelevant as it won't happen this season.

I also disagree with the premise that united have ground out results this season despite being poor. They certainly did that last season but not this season. I think they have deserved to be at the top and it shows great skill to have clinched the title at such an early stage.

Last season was embarassing for them, with their cup performances and throwing it all away at the end, but this season they have been very consistent and strong though the whole year. They've been the best team and whilst there has been the odd blip, they've largely been excellent.

Breaking News: Audley Harrison announces next opponent to be Michael Owen - 'I reckon I can take him' said Harrison.

I think you're misunderstanding the meaning of the phrase 'clinch the title' Joe.

Sums it up nicely.

It's an agenda thing - it's all about getting it in early to allow smugness in either eventuallity. I call it 'scrivensing' ;)

I'm really not.

it's a done deal. Watch this space, I'll save my "I told you so message in my drafts"

Not really unique though, if you go to our 'Predictor' league table, you will notice many chose Utd to win.

lol i like that. scrivensing.

Actually if you look above I am lauding man united with praise for having got the title wrapped up so early. But you are choosing to ignore that because it doesn't fit with your "scrivens profiling"

We already know you a secret ManU fan anyway....that is why you keep betting on wins.

I did notice that you got that covered.

If I suggested for one min the title was over I'd be an arrogant United fan.
