Deja vu or what

Vidic could have killed someone the way he kicked that ball into the crowd

Class

What a pass from Giggs, sublime take and finish from van Persie.

Luckily put a fiver on at 85 mins for a draw so won £22 giving a £12 profit on the night.

You gotta fancy West Ham in the replay with Chamakh now able to play.

Good move, I did look at Bet Fair but the odds were rubbish.

One day you're going to call it 'net spend' and make my day.

Chelsea reportedly on the verge of signing Isco for £15m. If that happens I'll be gutted. Not just because it's Chelsea splashing their endless funds again, but because he's a player I've wanted at Arsenal for a while now. Such a big talent, and will probably spend half his time on the bench at Chelsea!

Is that worse than spending a season at arsenal before city swoop?

City have never swooped after a season. They leave it a few years so Wenger can work his magic first, then take him away from us.

Although, in the case of Nasri, we did very well out of that in my opinion :D

Another underwhelming Arsenal display.

Arteta and Per both uncharacteristically off their game.

Walcott was playing like a 2nd striker and gave absolutely no protection to Sagna. Compare that to how Gibbs is covered for on the left and you see how Gibbs is allowed to get forward for a great goal whilst Sagna is always getting lambasted for being caught out of position when he tries to play the overlap or pop up in the box.

Podolski showed great hunger and made an instant impact with the goal.

Walcott should never be allowed to take free kicks ahead of Arteta and Cazorla. He must either score some absolute worldies in training, or want to take them as a part of staying at the club. He's not too shabby at corners, though.

Cazorla seems to be getting played into the ground. I'd have loved to Rosicky let loose today. If not that then at least let's see Ramsey play attacking midfield where he's best and Cazorla's creativity out wide instead. It just feels wrong to push Ramsey out to the wing where he's able to influence less.

Most of all, why can't we keep our heads to see a game out for the last few minutes once we lead?

Brighton away, assuming we can finally get past Swansea in the replay, which won't be an easy game either.

Liverpool have had just 23% possession in the first 15 odd minutes of the second half against a Blue Square team. I'm sure that won't be going down with Brendan 'Possession' Rogers!

Edit: And it looks like Suarez is back to his cheating ways. But he was doing so well  Apparently even kissed the hand he used to turn the ball in, in front of the Mansfield fans. What a ****.

As is always said when Liverpool have overwhelming possession, it's what you do with the possession that counts. and they didn't score in that 15 minutes. ;)

He kisses his hand, or more accurately, his wrist, a couple of times everytime he scores, so while he cheated, he was not rubbing in his cheating. He's still a **** for cheating though.

He was doing so well too, but the handball is indefensible. :nono: It's a pity as it has sucked the life out of the game and leaves a bad taste. :(

On a more positive note, it was nice to see Sturridge get his first goal. And a good one it was too. :)

And Mansfield have just scored. :bang:

Game one.

Mansfield honour Liverpool with 96 empty seats and Liverpool sing "your support is effing ssss". Stay classy, Liverpool.

The way Suarez kicked the ball at the net makes me think he expected it to be ruled out.

The handball looked more instinctive than 'cheating' - it's the officials that are to blame.

Yes but cheating instinctively is something Suarez has got form with. He's admitted to cheating purposely in the past in order to win games - it looks like it's now become an instinct.

you should get a job with the daily mail. That kind of assumption would be perfect there

I agree. He never expected that to stand and looked sheepish that it did. Sup to the officials to spot something so blatent.

It was a presumption rather than an assumption.

With Suarez it's possibly a cultural thing - if you don't get caught then it's acceptable - blame the officials. And as long as LFC, BR and their fans are fine with it then maybe that's all that matters.

Perhaps we should applaud him. Or give him a big hand :D

A cultural thing??

So is tax dodging OK as long as you don't get caught? Or fiddling benefits?

Is "It's up to someone else to stop me" now a legitimate defence?

He's a diving, cheating scumbag. Always has been and always will be.

Love that it bothers you all so much. Muppets.

I've nothing to defend. He hand balled it and it was probably deliberate but likely just instinctive. The way he finished it he obviously expected it to be flagged and he was sheepish in celebration. The officials should have spotted it and I'd have preferred that they had. Do you think if it'd happened at the other end they'd be complaining?

He does some disgusting, sneaky things on the pitch and that's why I don't like Suarez however I think all he's guilty of here is an instinctive handball.

Having been missed by the officials, not many players would have gone over and told the ref that the goal shouldn't have stood. Given the opposition today - Suarez could have done his reputation a world of good if he'd done that though.

Wouldn't have made a difference. I think the goal would still have stood.
