Lucas back for selection this weekend. God, we've missed his tenacity in midfield.

One year ago today...

Blimey - that doesn't seem like a year ago. It was a cracking strike from Ambrose but it didn't deserve to count double.

Plenty of big games this weekend, our one against Villa is huge for us, but the biggest has to be MK (should not be) Dons v AFC Wimbledon. It probably won't work out this way, but I hope AFC give them the good thrashing they deserve!

Refreshing to have so many good Saturday fixtures too

Agreed.

Lucas starts today and by god we've missed him. I hope he gets a run of games without breaking so Joe Allen can have a bit more license to get forward. It's no coincidence that Lucas's injury last season led to a drastic decline in our fortunes. IMHO, he's as important to us and our spine as Gerrard and He Who Must Not Be Named.

Who's he replaced in midfield? It's a massive boost for you to have him back. I hope he stays fit this time!

He's back in the position Allen has been playing freeing Allen up to be more attack minded. He's taken Henderson's place.

FFS get wenger out NOW!!! We are a laughing stock. 2-0 defeat at home to Swansea. Top 6 your having a laugh. Let alone top 4. Get a new manager in now to get established so that we can fight for something next season.

The farce over Walcott is a complete joke too.

Considering how terrible Liverpool are supposed to be and we're 2 points behind you I can see your point.

Be careful what you wish for. You might end up with Rafa

Precisely. There's not another viable option out there that's likely to return us better results. I much rather keep Wenger than become another club to change manager every 8 months and never achieve any stability.

Let's see what January brings and where we finish up at the end of the season and take it from there. Until then the pathetic home support needs to stop getting on the players' backs so keenly because it destroys the atmosphere and the drive in the players. For a long time I've been ashamed of our home support. The away fans, by comparison, are some of the best in the league!

Fans pay a lot of money and are subject to abject performances. Just caught sky sports and gobsmacked gervinho replaced giroud. Wenger really has lost the plot. Walcott fiasco yet according to paper we may offer 10m for Reina who has been out if sorts, when we have a decent keeper!!!

No doubt he will now blame the pitch, the ref, the fans, the cold, UKIP, leveson and anyone else bar himself for this.

Offer Everton 10m for moyes. Look around at other managers, maybe Martinez. The only thing that may help us qualify for the CL is rafa!

Crazy game with reading and united right now. Got my bet in at 3-2 to reading will win £24.

But wondering whether to chance a fiver on reading snatching it.

And just as I was contemplating it comes the 4th goal from united and £24 in my pocket.

Right back home from the emirates and not in a good mood.

Where do i start?

ok lets start with our attacking play. umm actually lets move on because THERE IS **** ALL TO TALK ABOUT AS WE DID **** ALL attacking wise.

Next up our midfield. hopeless. ****ing hopeless. all arteta, wilshere, carzola did was ****ing pass backwards and sideways all ****ing game. i was literelly falling asleep for ****sakes during the game! that is a first. imagine that. falling asleep inside the stadium watching your team play. something is not right.

Now on to our Defence. U see i think this was the only thing we did OK on. yes ok we let in two **** goals but i am talking about our defence as a whole. it did ok. What made our defence look **** was our attacking play. we did **** all in attacking and we did fall all when we had the ball! So it gave people the illusion that our defence was **** but tbh honest it wasnt. shezney made 2-3 world class saves and mertesaka and vermalen made some great critical tackles.

Its just that when u play **** in the rest of the pitch and chasing a goal, your defence will look ****.

Right, on to the fans and atmosphere. We started off in a positive mood chanting and singing but **** hit the fan 2nd half.

we was angry and fustrated at our team that keep passing sideways and backwards. no one willing to take a shot on goal and constant ****** reasons why we lose the ball(holding up the ball too long, making silly passes etc etc).

once the 2nd goal went in i kicked the chair in front of me in anger. never been sooo ****ING angry for a long time. was ready to punch someone tbh and ****ing left the stadium after that **** went in.

I overheard some arguing among our fans on the way into the tunnel as well. not good.

U see i have tried to be patient with wenger. i have tried to stop wanting him out and lowering my expectations for him and this club but this is just too much for me. what am i to do now? Shall i now expect our team and wenger to do no better but to qualify for uefa cup? Because THAT is the only way i would be satisfied with this **** from wenger and the team.

This is unacceptable. everyone in the stadium feels my anger. we all booed the useless players on the pitch.

I dont think i can back Wenger if this keeps on happening. He has turned players liek carzola, podolski and even wilshere as average **** players who cant shoot from more then 2 yards away from goal or knows how to pass forward.

/rant over

I'm sensing a touch of negativity in that post.

On sky he moaned about a lack of maturity... Yeah, like vermalen, metersacker, arteta, Walcott, podolski, cazorla are inexperienced!!! Wilshire is world class and very mature for age.

Look at our players compared to Swansea, WBA, Everton etc... Our first team is much stronger but we are rubbish so obviously manager to blame.

Can't decide on cazorla. Started well but faded a lot and seems very hit and miss. The likes of rosicky and gervinho are at best Wigan style players. Our midfield just isn't working but we have no options.

£10 on united to win when they were 3-2 down brings me £24.

Also just put 2.50 on a reading win at 60 to 1 for the fun of it.

What about a draw ?

No didn't put anything on a draw

That's good then. What odds on United becoming the 'undrawables'

Think i'll stick a cheeky £5 on Shakhtar to beat Juve as I think Chelsea will get in through the back door

As I see it there's only two options that I'd welcome seeing at Arsenal and are at all likely.

1. Moyes, but you can forget the beautiful game with him and he represents a risk
2. Guardiola, would give the fans the style of football we want, but is unlikely to be obtainable by our terrible board and also represents a risk with his success coming at arguably the greatest team ever

Anyone else would just be recycling the discard from other clubs and that's not the way forward. It's a very strange thing to see managers bounce from one club to the next, developing a profile of rejection and failure on their way. If they fail in several other clubs, what makes people think this time things will be different?!

With the budget you have for sales and salaries, I can't imagine anyone doing better than Wenger. He's made some strange decisions certainly over the years, but I believe the real problem is the likes of Man City, Chelsea etc with bottom-less funds. I actually think Wenger is over achieving, it's just the expectations of the fans has not been reduced in this new world.

I firmly believe once Wenger goes you will be worse off for it. I accept I don't watch Arsenal as much as you and Cambsno however.

Can't see Guardiola coming to you, with all due respect, Moyes might but he'd get more slated than Wenger I imagine!
