What a joke. Has no-one here ever called someone a muppet, monkey or any other term like that? And what about using the term French/German/Spanish/Scottish etc... ****? If clattenberg is punished then so should pretty much everyone. This whole thing will just make things far worse

I've never called someone a monkey, except perhaps in the context of "cheeky monkey", but certainly never with any racial connotation because it is entirely unacceptable to do so.

I can't believe people still try and argue that racially offensive language should be accepted. No it's not OK, and anyone found to be using it should be held to account for it.

Who knows if it has a racial connotation? There is a hell of a difference between making monkey noises and an obvious racial insult to just a put down like muppet, monkey, or as u say cheeky monkey.

What is racially offensive language? A lot of things can offend a few (like the many saville jokes heared recently). I just think its a huge mountain over a molehill. I have lost count over the amount of times wenger has been referred to as a French ****.

If you're not sure what racially offensive language is then I suggest you do a bit of research?

But you don't even know what Clattenburg has even said yet? You might be proved right, it might be nothing - but probably best to wait what comes out isn't it? Rather than assuming it's a mountain over a molehill.

When have you heard Wenger referred to as that?

My point is that racially offensive can be anything. There are probably some people offended by Englishman, Irishman and Scotsman jokes.

Arsenal are getting Gubbed

What a joke of a club we are. Especially with Man City out and with Utd and Chelsea playing each other, this is a competition we could win!! First trophy in 8 years??? No chance now, even with that lovely finish by Walcott. Why not pick a decent team, and stop playing the dross like Chamack, get rid and buy some decent players!

There can be no defence of our performance tonight unless the 2nd half turns things around.

Wenger said this was our 5th priority this seasons and it more than shows. What a weak/inexperienced side we fielded against an almost full-strength Reading playing on their own patch.

Giroud looks great, but then I have said I think he has done ok this season and I dont get why people knock him - he has put in effort and at times been unlucky. Should certainly be our no.1 striker although wouldnt mind seeing walcott there either.

Koscielny playing like he used to I see!

Woohoo I put a fiver on when they were 3-0 down at 11-1 to draw.

£55 in my pocket!

What a game

You were saying. :D

I don't think I've ever seen a game of football like that! Theo Walcott showed his quality once again with 3 goals and 3 assists. Hopefully people can finally stop the criticism of him! Hurry up and SignDaTing, Theo!

Not sure what to say. Great comeback, giroud was the difference for me although walcott played well again.

So from starting the season looking tight at the back, normal service resumed.

His finishing has improved lots and I do see an Henryesque style to him. He must be given some games up top - 10 times better than gervinho.

Gervinho's out for a month and Walcott played a central role well today so I imagine it will happen.

Gnabry played well and Eisfeld looked incredible when he came on. I remember you asking a while ago about the talent coming up through the ranks and you saw some of it today. Some of the older players were what let us down initially!

Just thought i'd get a sense of how fans see Luis Suarez.

Being a liverpool fan I can't speak highly enough of the guy. His skill is awesome, his desire and detemination coupled with his fantastic work ethic and team work make him very close to being the perfect all round striker.

People say he takes too many chances to score but he is sitting third in the top scorers chart this season with 6 premiership goals only one behind Ba and RVP so that's not a bad return from a guy playing as a lone striker in a struggling liverpool team, and if there were to be a chart for assists and chances created he'd be very near the top.

So how do you non LFC fans see him.

Fantastic player or as the press likes to portray him.... Pantomime Villain

Discuss

Honestly, I despise him more than anyone else in the premier league.

There's no doubt he's a massively talented footballer. He's a fantastic technical player that causes defenders huge problems. Certainly last season he had a dismal shot conversion rate but he's doing a little better this time around.

It's everything else about him I hate. He's a diver, a cheat, and not to mention the whole racism shabang. His dive in front of Moyes was funny, but only because it highlighted just what a classless individual he is.

i think you should change your user name,if someone refers to you as that they could be up on a charge:D

So you wouldn't have him in your team then. :D

Did Mark Clattenberg really make inappropriate comments, or is John Terry the world's greatest ventriloquist?

I love him, Phil, but I would. :D

He's always going to be that kind of player though. Adored by his own and hated by the rest because they only choose to see one side of him. If he played for another team I'd admire his footballing skill, but despise him because he rubs everyone up the wrong way.

I knew you would Dean

I can't help but think other fans are just jealous of the fact he's better than the rest out there.

I honestly don't see a player with more skill in the premiership at the minute. The amount of times he nutmegs the opposition is just insane :D

Surely any fan should recognise his desire to win and if half the players had his work rate and ethic they'd be better for it.

+1 to this. He really is just a snidey, horrible, classless footballer. And don't forget the 2 blatant fouls he committed in the game on Sunday. The challenge on Distin could easily have ended the 34 year old career.

If he would just stop all the diving and historyonics, then he may well be liked by fans outside of Liverpool, but until that day comes he'll be despised by all and sundry. And he does have a history of these antics in other leagues.

Anyway, he'll be off next summer as he'll want champions league footie, and he ain't gonna get that with Liverpool anytime soon!

Oh yeah, and I'm an Evertonian, so slightly biased I suppose. I still wouldn't have him anywhere near a team I support!

I admire his skill, I admire his desire, but, I have issues with his diving, attitude, his fouls, and his selfishness (yes he creates goals, but too often doesn't take the simple pass to a team mate and goes alone). I also think, as has been mentioned several times his attempts to conversion rate is poor for an out and out striker.

I'm an Evertonian so my views on him are always going to be biased.

I can admit that he is certainly a very talented footballer and purely on his footballing ability then I'd have him in my team any day.

His personality is a totally different thing. He is absolute scum and a disgrace. It's not only what he's done whilst at Liverpool, he had the same reputation back in Holland when he bit a player and got a 7 match ban. He is a cheat, a racist and a thug. I know Liverpool fans that have the same opinion about his personality but choose to over look it because of his football. If I acted like Suarez at work then I don't think I'd remain in a job very long.

I agree that he is an unpleasant individual. I support a lower league team but like to have a premiership team to follow. Ideally this would be Liverpool as I grew up with them in the '80s. However I will not be following them until Suarez leaves. I can't believe his manager defended his tackle on distin and said it was 'mistimed'. Anyone who has played or follows football knows that this sort of challenge is nasty and vindictive. I struggle to even call it a tackle. Then there is the racism. And this is before anyone has talked about his handball in the world cup and his celebration when the penalty was missed. He shows no respect for his opposition and won't be missed if he leaves the premiership. There are plenty of talented players in the world who know how to behave. Compare him to aguero of city who when I've seen him play is professional and avoids the histrionics so many if these overpaid footballers get involved in.

His challenge yes was badly timed but then loads of players have done much worse than that on Sunday.

The racism thing I think was a joke and he was tried and convicted with no hard evidence it was Evra's word against his and we all know the authorities favour UTD so Suarez had no chance.

As for the handball....... you're playing for england in a world cup semi final. England are 1-0 playing Germany with a minute to go. You are on the post for a germany corner and the ball flies above your head what do you do.

a. let it go in and face penalties
b instinctively put the arm up?

if the answer was B you then have to watch the resulting penalty, do you....
a. regret your actions
b. celebrtate your team reaching the final due to an heroic keeper save?

I think I know what we'd all do in that situation:naughty:
