He's been drinking, Phil. It is Christmas.

Not for me

Working early tomorrow (it's my wife's birthday too so I'm unpopular) so it will be home to cook a nice a nice meal then the Christmas drink will begin tomorrow night - then back to work (albeit from home) on Boxing day.

Ouch - just caught the score

You did create chances but to be fair to Villa (esp Benteke) they killed you at the other end of the pitch.

True. Like so many teams this season we dominated the whole half and they score with their first meaningful chance. Benteke did run riot, but there is no way we should have been down at that point. Gotta take your chances though so no complaints.

Ah, that sucks. Noah has been sick for a bloody month so we're running on no sleep and my health is crap again so I wont get so much as a glass of wine.

What has happened to Villa? They're getting an absolute spanking!

Very young team, building for the future, they might get few more drubbings this season, though I doubt to that extent.

At least with Benteke they have an outstanding striker up front.

That's a big score for a young team to recover from. Benteke was very good against Liverpool, but he isn't consistent yet. And they don't seem to have the depth or experience for when he has an off/ordinary day. They are definitely having a roller coaster season, the high of beating Liverpool, followed by the very low of the Chel$ki result.

I didn't hear too many anti Benitez calls today, but then I only had their game on in the background. ;)

Oh there was still plenty singing for Di Matteo/rafa out!

He does manage one good game every twenty though!:)
To be fair he was good against Villa too. I don't think he can do it forever though.

Oh dear, that could mean he may not have a good game until this time next year. ;)

I think Ferguson's rant was a way of distracting the media from his team's performance having seen the incident on MotD2. Be interesting whether he feels the same way after he had calmed down, or if it was a calculated move.

Nice to see that the Hillsborough song is the Christmas No 1.

It's always a calculated move with SAF, it's why he's as good as he is.

See on sky sports news that after their bad display at the weekend, SAF is recalling Howard Webb to the starting 12

I'd like to wish a Happy Christmas and a Healthy and Wealthy 2013 to ALL supporters across the Metropolis who support any of the great London clubs who are or have been Champions of Europe.

Couldn't resist....

Newcastle's 2nd was an odd one - I'll have to see that again.

He was yes, joking aside though it would be good to see him in a good run of form though :)

Always been a confidence player. Lets see if he gets a run of games and keeps the form up.

How much up are you this season, Joe?

That was a shocking display from Liverpool last night.

We got a point less than I would have settled for. It was a poor performance and shows why we're where we are. You have to win the games you dominate so you can live with this kind of result. Until we get players on who're clinical we'll always suffer like this. Stoke deseved to win.

I always struggle with the stoke fixtures as its the team local to me so have a soft spot for them. They are also liverpool's bogie team and often seem to beat us. Didn't watch the game as I was out spending my winnings on good ale and now I have a sore head.
