Some big games this weekend

Liverpool (big game raisers) I can see winning against Arsenal. Anybody know if RVP is playing ?

Tottenham V Manchester United - Tottenham normally get nothing in this fixture but it's too close to call. Think I'll just go for the draw.

For heavens sake FA. When will u ban Suarez for being a cheating little ******?

It's nothing less than we've come to expect from him. A genuine disgrace to football!

What's he done this time?

What a superb run into the penalty box beating four arsenal players by the way!

That was a peach from van persie, against the domination of the 2nd half from Liverpool, but that's what happens when you don't take your chances, and Liverpool had a ton so they can only blame themselves.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha :D Cheered me up after another shocking home performance. Cheers fella :)

What a class act van persie is. Not only is he superb on the pitch, but he's just all round a legend. I love the Dutch, they have to be the most likeable nation there is.

That was the good and the bad from suarez, terrible dive to win the pen but then dances past 3 players and almost scores. Drives fans crazy

BTW what a double save from Schenzy, OK so Kuyt's follow up was weaker than anything know to man, but to get up and cover the width of the goals in such a short time was something else. Maybe as a keeper I appreciate these types of saves more than most as I know how hard it can be.

The more I see the 2nd goal the better it gets. RVP is easily the best player in the world at the moment.

Penalty double save was amazing. He really is turning into a top class keeper.

I think the difference today was striking quality. Liverpool played well but just can't seem to score whilst Arsenal have RVP. Took him out of my ff team this morning after hearing that he wasn't playing.

Did you see the stat about hw many times Liverpool have hit the woodwork this season, I think it was 21 times and 6 or so more times than the next closest team. Pretty mental

Or poor shooting?

Pretty mental but it's not a case of hitting the woodwork instead of missing, it's hitting the woodwork instead of scoring.

30 goals scored is about the 3rd or 4th lowest in the whole league I think - without your good defensive record you'd be in the proverbial.

anyone know why there were 8 mins added on the Liverpool/Arsenal match? MotD not mentioned anything.

Ta

Every time Suarez falls over the the trainer comes on and 'Steve Austin' can walk again.

I thought the delay was so the judges could read out his scores, takes a little while due to adding the degree of difficulty ;)

There was an off the ball collision between Henderson and Arteta. Arteta was concussed so a long stoppage - It looked accidental though.

No great surprise I suppose but a shame that managers don't get the time they need.

Details are here.

I see AVB has been sacked....not good really but that is football.

What a poisoned chalice managing Chelsea is. Results in 6 months or on your way seems about all they allow.

Ancelotti being sacked was harsh but AVB was well out of his depth. Chelsea are not doing much better than Liverpool or Newcastle and worse than arsenal who have been poor this season. They cannot defend.

Jose to return????

Unfortunately, since the billionaires got involved in football, that appears to be the standard. For all the money they put in, they expect instant results.

Personally, I have very fond memories of the 70s/80s but then I'm old. :D

Gabby Logan and chums looked really peeved that their two hours of pontification over Chelsea was interrupted by a live game between Cardiff and West Ham. I suppose I should be grateful they didn't cancel coverage of The Hammers' fine win so they could bring us the latest groundless speculation.

The Hammers' travelling support was in fine voice again;

"God Save Your Queen" and "We're winning abroad" were the pick of the bunch :)

Just watched some of the spurs man u game I recorded earlier. Watched up to the 2nd goal, up till then spurs were totally dominating united yet somehow were 2 goals down - was the rest of the match any different? Or did the worse team win?

I think we're even on this week Tom so it's still 3-1 to me.

Maybe to both of your above points Joe...............regarding the results of our weekly gambit, I must confess I never really check how we faired but take your word for granted....is that OK?

It's ok with me..

Joe, regarding today's game at Spurs, it just shows how deficient Liverpool are in front of goal. Man U have lots of players that score goals and this is part the reason why they are successful.

Man U were a tad lucky but if you don't take your chances you only have yourselves to blame.

I can't remember which yellow card it was...1st half I think fairly early, (maybe it was a foul on Ashley Young) but a shocking decision by Martin 'The Book' Atkinson....basically he is saying players are not allowed to foul each other without a receiving card. Utter penis he is.

Haha by that logic lower down the table looks like this:

5:Chelsea
6:Newcastle
7:
8:Fulham

If only that blasted goal was a foot wider and taller you might be in the top 25% of the table

good for you Stratman! whatever it is you slip in from time to time:D

'The 4 year plan'. I understand this was on the BBC yesterday - if you didn't watch it and it is on iplayer you should.

It's about the 4 years after Briatore and Ecclesstone and the Mittals took over QPR from the verge of bankruptcy. The 4 year plan is to achieve Premier League status - we do this of course, but if you watch the documentary you will wonder how! More behind the scenes access than you would imagine, and egos that may not fit on your TV screens!

So it's bye bye AVB. I think his big mistake was, if you compare him for Fergie for example. When Fergie wants you out, you are out, you're not hanging around the squad anymore. He needed to keep the likes of Lampard, Anelka etc in and them bump them off at the end of the season - he just ended up with a squad of disgruntled players.

Oh well, He's now set up for life so I'm sure he's not that gutted!

No top 4 this season will make getting those quality players in they need even harder - an interesting few months.

Exactly - the fact is if you look at the liverpool game verses the man u game. Liverpool played well against Van Persie but lost. Man U played badly against spurs but scored 3 goals. The fact than Man U still win when they don't deserve to is why I think they will win the prem this year now, they have enough goalscorers that it doesn't matter if they play poorly, they will always score goals and that's what it takes to win.

Looking at the run in now, I think man u will win all of their games and city have tougher games and will likely draw at least 2 of them.

Now that chelsea have self destructed and liverpool will struggle to make up ground without more goals I also think Van Persie has the champions league spot in the bag.

I was slightly miffed by the sale of Zamora to QPR but with the "super hoops" looking dire and our new russian with the difficult name playing so well with the team I am now rather happy. Just hope that QPR, Zamora and that goit Hughes go down!
