So the most interesting races now seem to be the race for 4th place, and the relegation scrap. If Newcastle somehow claim 4th, you'd think Pardew would have to be Manager of the Year (and I never thought I'd say that!).

I'm as bitter as they come. I'm like bitter lemon with extra bitterness

Why so bitter Joe....your lot seem to be level on points with those footballing monoliths...Norwich and Fulham

Bob

:lol::lol::lol:

Do you have Liverpool blood in you Joe? Or are you another of those 1980s glory supporters? :p

Wow lucky lucky tottenham not to see king and Kaboul sent off and could have faced 2 penalties as well! Fantastic work rate and attitude from norwich got them what they deserved though!

Ok, let's stop the bickering and cheer ourselves up*. :D

*Disclaimer: may not apply to the blue half of Manchester

I was at that game, driven there by a City fan who was a friend of the girl I was seeing at the time. It was a quiet journey back....but he did wait for me outside the ground, fair play to him as that game virtually guaranteed their relegation and kept us up.

So 5th place in the premiership might not be a European place depending on results ?

So 5th place in the premiership might not be a European place depending on results ?

It gets even more complicated if Chelsea win the champions league. 4th place could be Europa depending on where Chelsea finish.

Okay, we'll do 20 questions and I'll start

Do you have a collection of Cilla Black LP's?

1. Do be people keep telling you to "calm down, calm down"

2. Do you currently have a curly perm or regularly wear inflammable sportswear

3. Is your ringtone Ferry 'cross the Mersey

Hopefully be able to catch the 2nd half tonight. In our current form I'd say a win was unlikely so hoping for a valuable point.

Looks like its going to be one of those nights. Just put a bet on that Blackburn will win this 3-2

Only could a bunch of idiots like the FA announce the following today:

- Derry will serve his ban despite his foul occurring when play should have been stopped (and was a marginal one anyway)
- Balotelli will not be banned for trying to break Song's kneecap

Seriously, what is the point of the FA?

Liverpool got their 3 points then! Didn't see the game but a liverpool fan text me saying that they didn't deserve the win and robbed blackburn of the points. At least it will put an end to hearing about liverpool's 'bad luck' in games :D

Well I got the score right, but thankfully the wrong way round. The second penalty was hilarious, Goalkeeping of the highest calibre. Then andy caroll almost heading an own goal would have been a serious comedy of errors.

But what a finish! Superb. And as I said earlier, you can't start counting points until the games in hand are over, which means everton aren't 4 points ahead at all, but 1.

I'm in Blackpool for this week and there were a whole range of fans from all over, including quite a few man u fans in the bar who were lapping it up when Blackburn got the second penalty. I made sure I cheered right in front of them when we won and gave them grief back, but they were good sports in the end. We had a laugh about it.

Lets hope Wigan can pull off a miracle against united tomorrow, not that it will effect the league outcome but it's always nice to see them lose.

One Liverpool fan texts you his opinion and it becomes fact? Who was the fan? Kenny dalglish?:lol:

If I wanted to falsely portray it as fact I wouldn't have said it was one person's opinion would I!

No need to get too touchy though, you're only 1 point behind Everton now ;)

We really do need a face palm smiley rather than :bang:

The reason I mentioned Everton's win (or the relevance of the win taking them 4 points clear of Liverpool) was that they would remain ahead of Liverpool regardless of Liverpool's result tonight. That's why I don't need to wait till the end of the game week to mention it.

If you disagree or twist that statement of fact then I will just conclude that you don't understand my post.

Please no more

Touchy?

What made you think I was touchy? The joke about kenny dalglish or the smiley at the end of the message?

This may not interest many, in fact I fully expect this to be greeted with a lot of blank stares, WTF's and the obvious 'ripping of the urine' statements on Scottish football but right now....I do not care.

Ross County, my local team in the highlands of Scotland, a team who 20 years ago nearly folded while playing at part time football in the Highland League have just won the Scottish 1st Division and are now going to be playing football at the highest level in Scottish football. A team which had to fight to be accepted into the SFL in the first place, a team who were constantly told they would never make it above Divison 2 are now mixing it up with the big boys.

It's days/nights/seasons like this that sums up what football means to me. Genuine fans will understand the joy and excitement that I'm feeling right now, and it feels good.

I'm going for my victory drink right now.

Enjoy the success of your local club, it sounds like a fantastic achievement for them!

Great times - Enjoy your bevvy - will you be coming down to McDiarmid Park next season.

I know my pals up in Inverness will be looking forward to playing you.

Still hoping Saints can finish above United.

I wouldn't expect any football fans to do a blank stare or wtf to news like this. It's what makes football the sport it is and why we love it. Every credit to them.

I've often wondered what feels better - winning the Top Division \ Cup etc or winning promotion. I've only experienced the latter (and may never experience the other two!) but I have the feeling it would be hard to beat. You have that moment of celebration at the promotion and then the whole of the next season to look forward to.

Enjoy your drink(s)!

It's a case of the law is an a***.

The offside for Derry is not considered, Mr Mason (Bolton fan - banned from refereeing their matches) clearly thinks he made the right decision and The F.A. do not currently overrule referees. The people to blame here actually are the referee, linesman and Young.

Re Balotelli, well again the referee \ linesman combo said they saw it and therefore (and I think this is a FIFA directive) they cannot change the decision.

It's been happening all season.

Next season changes need to be made,as you have mentioned previously, to deal with diving, and arguable being able to overrule referees where they are clearly wrong and refuse to accept it.

'Diving' is a difficult thing to judge:

You can take a dive when you've had a slight push in the back or clip on the ankle and whilst it's a total over-reaction on the player's part - doesn't alter the fact that the player has been fouled and a free kick or penalty should be awarded.

Diving when no contact has been made is something different and that's something I'd certainly like to see the back of.

I've also seen players booked for diving when all they've done is go down because of a tangle of legs and weren't actually asking questions of the ref.

If you just tried to ban all diving regardless then we'd be in more of a mess as how would you prove somebody dived rather than just went flying.

I don't know what the answer is really.

'Offside' - that just needs to be got right as often as possible but there will always be mistakes.

Didn't Rafael get booked for slipping on Sunday and even have the QPR player try to defend him?
I was a bit tipsy, so it might not be what happened

Yep.

Poor first half from United tonight - certainly lacking composure in midfield without Scholes. Mind you Wigan are up for it.
