The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

The 35/1.4 is a STELLAR lens.
Yep. The Viltrox that I replaced the first one with is a great lens in terms of sharpness, AF speed etc., but I knew from the first shot with it that I was going to miss the Fuji. Oh well, at the time it did me a favour when I was short of cash, and now all's well that ends well :)

Still want an X-pro 2 but it's like £900....and for £200 more I can get the X-Pro3....

Anyone care to comment whether it is worth it? and is £1100 a good price for an X-Pro3?

I should save my money...I don't even use the X-Pro 1...and hardly touched my XT-5 since I got back from Hong Kong.

I prefer the X-Pro3.
I like that the screen folds back out of the way when not in use, it's protected and avoids me over-checking.
I also like that the multi-wheel on the rear has gone, that was always a nuisance to me unless I locked it out.
£1100 is fine for one in excellent condition if you check prices around.

It is also the Dura silver one.

I had an X-pro2 for a while, thought it might be a good addition to the xe-1. But sold it not long after, the xe-1 just has something I can’t put my finger on.

Had an xt-4 and an xt-50, but did not gel with either of them.

I'm sure I could find a home for your X-T5...especially at Hong Kong prices ;)

General question for the hive mind - any idea if the size options are crops or resizes? I.e on an X-T5/50 the 'M' size is 20mp; is that a crop?

I actually used it to take this photo when I got these new headphones (with the wooden cups) the other week. The name of them is actually called Bokeh.

Shutter count is of little value TBH - let the battery down and it will reset to ‘0’.
Still potentially a good buy though.

I don't think as a buy, it will lose much money, but I have spent £700 on my car this month lol

edit - was going to go for it with Paypal's pay in 3 months option (that I used before on the X-S10) but was denied ???

Guess it's not meant to be. I will continue to use the X-Pro1 to scratch that itch itch I guess and save my money.

Thanks, will have a look. I have a 50mm f2 that I could sell as I’ve used it once so that might be helpful. Am trying to keep my kit small..

My boy has the Samyang 12mm f/2 (for Sony E mount) - he uses it mainly for astro - Yes, it's MF but at that focal length it isn't too much of an issue for static subjects.

Aside from that, I don't shoot with lenses on Fuji so I'm not much more help sorry :ROFLMAO:

I have the Samyang 12mm, it's very good - and as Lee says, very easy to focus. The Viltrox 13/1.4 is excellent, but it's quite big and heavy.

The Fuji 14mm is a cracking little lens. Only sold my one to fund other things.

Popped to a cold and wet Oulton Park this morning for an hour (to try out my newly purchased XF50-140mm), lens didn't disappoint, but had my first full lock up on the X-T3, pressed the shutter button in AF-C/Burst Mode (CH) and it wouldn't stop after lifting off shutter button!!!! Stopped when I switched camera off, but then camera wouldn't re-power up, had to remove grip and internal battery, replacing the internal battery brought it back to life (it was still dry at this point, so no water ingress, rained plenty later!!)

Samyang 12mm . . . ?

Or maybe a Fuji 10-24 . . . ?
The 10-24 is a nice little lens, it's not too heavy and the internal zoom is neat. It was a bit too wide for me (unless I'm doing astro stuff, but I use the Samyang for that), so I sold mine. I probably should have kept it, though... (now, where have I heard that before?) :D

B*gg*r - after my X-T3 Hiccup this morning, I've just ordered at X-H2S..................................................................
I think you might need some speedy cards too ;)

Yes, I've budgeted for that. I had actually looked at X-H2S's this morning before I went (not for the first time!!!), then late this afternoon I looked again, and Clifton Cameras had reduced their pre-loved one by 10% valid until the end of the month, resistance was futile :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I'll get a couple of cards ordered over the weekend (and a USB card reader)

At least I'm back to having a body for every lens that I own....... :)

But that means if you buy another lens you need to but a body to with it :D

Yeah, that 10mm could be an issue. I recall when I used Nikon I had a 10-20 ( I think ) and it was so wide it wasn’t great.. unless you liked shooting basking sharks
