The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

@Raymond Lin, just seen in your photo above you have it too, do I not need to worry about it, is this normal?

Advice guys, just unboxed my x100vi and the below is the image I get when the camera is turned off. Is that usual, does anyone know what it is?

When camera turned on it obviously opens… Do I send it back?
Lokk at the pic immediately above - looks exactly the same. :)

I want to get myself a convertor...but most of the used one out there are silver, not black!

I have taken off the half letter case off mine and put on this wooden grip and added a square hood from YC Onion that comes with a metal square cap.

(Totally less practical but I kept touching the lens without a hood before in the name of compact and need to constantly wiping it. This actually makes the shooting process faster because I never accidentally touch the lens.)

eBay listing. But you need to be quick. Not a MK2. But just add your own magnet to make camera detectable.

Magnet? huh? Detectable?

Please explain?

What's a good price for one of these used? £125?

edit - I lost, I bid £125 and got outbid. Not sure what their ceiling is but that's fine.

A candid street style Snap captured a couple in London taking a selfie with their cell phone. Both their faces were hidden, hence the title “Faceless Selfie”.

Strange question...

My vision is fine, dont need glasses, but after using the EVF on my XT5 my eye that was looking in the EVF is blurry for a good minute or so. Blinking a lot usually sorts it out. Anyone else get this? Wondering if its just my eyes, a hazard of EVFs or whether ive got some focusing set up wrong. Ive never really tried to change the EVF focus.

It could be the diopter setting maybe.....? Or just the effect of concentrating/straining so much..?

That's how my eyes used to be when I went from computer work to looking at people across the office. I think it's just an effect of getting older (although obviously I don't know how old you are), and your eye muscles taking a little bit longer to get to the next position, in the same way as standing up takes longer when you're older.

Quite the opposite for me. The eye that I close gets all messed up, and feels "off" for hours afterwards. I've taken to shielding that eye with my hand rather than shutting it now, as I don't feel I could pull off an eye patch...

Yours sounds like a diopter issue.

I wear glasses and recently had cataract surgery which has caused another problem which I am taking treatment for. I get the refocussing thing with the eye I don't use for the evf. Go into the Q menu while looking into the evf and play with the diopter and see if you can optimise the sharpness. Doing it within Q menu allows you to easily see the sharpest setting of the diopter.

That's a good idea. I usually do it using the numbers along the bottom of the EVF but I sometimes find I have to tweak it; I guess it's because I'm focusing it for an area where I'm not usually looking.

I'm fairly new to the X-T5 and I'm having a problem assigning actions to the q menu.
I highlight the box and press menu/ok. From my researches I should then be given a list of options, but it just defaults to shooting mode?
Can anyone explain?

Thanks in advance.

Panic over. I've worked it out myself.

What I do is press and hold the Q button until this screen pops up,use the joystick to go to the square I want and then press menu/ok button. That works on mine

That doesn't work on mine, hence the question.
Anyway, I went into button/dial assigment and set it from there.

Does anyone use the Focus Bracketing mode on their Fuji? I focus bracket quite a lot for landscapes. Its easy to do manually but needs a tripod. It would be good to be able to do this handheld. Had a mess around with the in camera focus bracket settings (under the drive settings) but it seems to only really take tiny increments or requires a lot of faffing around setting two separate points and the number of shots.

Watched a youtube video of a Sony landscape shooter and he quickly did a handheld focus stack without using a tripod or taking his eye off the EVF. Camera just took 4 or 5 shots and was done. Not sure my Fuji is able to do this?

I tried it once, albeit for macro. Pick the front, then the back, and it'll calculate how many frames it wants to take (a lot in macro). Pretty easy enough to set up.
Can't exactly remember where in the menu it is, but Google will be your friend ;)

QQ, how many of you use a screen protector on your x100vi ?
