Thanks.
Used prices for the Vi seem to be anywhere between £1499 and £1950 depending on the shop.
£200 more than the average for a V seems to be a good deal...?
As an alternative view, I think the extras you get on the VI aren’t worth the premium. Unless you plan on doing video I think IBIS is unnecessary for this type of camera.
Finally, the image quality will be exactly the same; and I think in some aspects the smaller sensor performs better - like in low light. I’ve said before on here that I’ve found my X-T50 to be lacking as much vibe as my X-T20; I think the colours are a little worse and the 40mp sensor is a double edged sword.
If I was getting a second body (and I plan to) I’d want something different from the body I have; and so I plan on getting an X100F or X-E3.
In real world scenarios no one (certainly not me) would be able to tell the difference between a 26mp shot and a 40mp shot of the same subject in the same location - without pixel peeping at least
X-M5 is tiny, no viewfinder, same 26mp sensor as the V / X-E4. Not sure if its a better processor though. Thanks all. .
I've had a look at a few in some stores today and given the lack of size difference am now decided against an X100V or IV.
I did however see two smaller options in the Fuji House of Photography - the X-T50 and the X-m5.
I also saw a Leica D-Lux 7 (can I say that in here?) in Park but have no idea if that's anywhere near comparable. Time for more research methinks.

If you're looking for something much smaller which is a comparable quality, maybe consider the Ricoh GR. If you're not buying an interchangeable lens body then it really doesn't matter which brand it is. I'd love a GR as a second body but its too expensive for me at the moment.
BTW the X-M5 must be discounted as its not a camera as it has no viewfinder (IMHO)

Having looked at the Ricoh GRiii and the Sony RX100vii today and being concerned at the lack of dials, I think I'm going to wait for the X-E5 launch.
Assuming the X-E5 is the same size as the 4 it could be a good solution.
Below is the X-E4 compared to the X-T5 and X-T50.
Shame it's not out in time for my hols!

I can vouch for this. When I had my X-T30 I thought it was fine, but I got an X-T1 as a second body, and although it was missing a lot of the newer features of the T30, it did feel like a much nicer shooting experience, mainly due to the bigger EVF.If you do use the viewfinder/EVF for most of your photography, then you will need to adjut your expectations with these 'lesser' Fuji cameras, all of the X-Tx0 cameras, X100 series and X-E cameras have smaller EVF's (often in resolution and in terms of magnification), this can make a huge difference to your shooting experience if you like the larger, high resolution viewfinder in the X-T5, you may find the other cameras challenging.
Obviously if you are using your camera in a non-photography way and using just the rear screen this will not apply![]()

I always turn the touch screens off anyway! Just end up taking a picture with my nose otherwiseYou make some very good points here, I have an X-T20 and I plan to keep it until it dies, the image quality is lovely and in reality, 24mp is more than enough for me and most other casual photographers. I do sometimes wish it had IBIS, but that isn't a deal breaker for me.
Oddly though, I also have an X100F and although it's near enough the same age, 2018 (ish), and lacks a touch screen, it feels more modern compared to the X-T20.
On my X-T4 I mostly keep the screen folded in for exactly the same reasonI always turn the touch screens off anyway! Just end up taking a picture with my nose otherwise
Let me know if you ever fancy getting rid of the X100F![]()

FujiRumors has released the following -
- Fujifilm X-E5 Body: $1699
- Fujifilm X-E5 with XF23mmF2.8: $1,899
That's some pretty wild pricing... $1700 with no lens? That's X-T5 money with no weather sealing? Smaller EVF? One-way flippy screen? Yikes.
You can grab an R8 for $1300, a Zf for $1800, even an A7Cii for $2000...
Who knows, maybe that's US only pricing because of tariffs, but I doubt it...
You literally fitted a periscope to your GFX so I’m not sure you have an impartial view on the points you raiseIf you do use the viewfinder/EVF for most of your photography, then you will need to adjust your expectations with these 'lesser' Fuji cameras, all of the X-Tx0 cameras, X100 series and X-E cameras have smaller EVF's (often in resolution and in terms of magnification), this can make a huge difference to your shooting experience if you like the larger, high resolution viewfinder in the X-T5, you may find the other cameras challenging.

I’ve been running the X100VI through its paces for the last 3 weeks, extremely impressive piece of kit. What I’m finding which surprised me somewhat is how little tweaking the files need in post. Auto WB, exposure and colours are spot on, this surprised me having owned a lot of previous Fuji models, it just works.

Yup, my X100S has an arty purple tinge to all shots, the X100VI is excellent. Really brings out the best in the film sims. The auto WB improvements have been a big improvement in recent cameras particularly Sony + Fuji. Just saves a bunch of time fiddling in post.I’ve been running the X100VI through its paces for the last 3 weeks, extremely impressive piece of kit. Spotted With A Smile-03975 by G.K.Jnr., on FlickrX-e5 announced. £1,300 for the body.
I think this was touched on a few weeks ago.
One of my pet hates on the xt50 is knocking the joystick and send the focus point off to the edge.
I had got round this a bit by setting it to press joystick to recenter.
But have found a slightly better way now.
Not sure which models this works on, if you hold the menu button down for about 3 seconds, you get a yellow lock picture on the screen.
When this is on, it locks anything you have set for this in the menu. I have just tested with the joystick so far.
If I need a different focus point, just hold menu for 3 again and the lock is off
