The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

I picked up an X100S a couple of months back and whilst I haven’t used it a huge amount it’s certainly lived up to expectations when I have. You just have to bear in mind the AF isn’t exactly quick, I use single point in the centre and recompose which takes me back to my early ME Super days using split focus and a 35mm prime.

Get an xe-1 from WEX for just over £300, then add a lens of choice.
Yes won’t be as all singing and dancing as a more modern camera, but still takes fantastic pictures.
If you don’t like the camera return it under the WEX 45 day return policy

Although this is an option, in use a X100 series camera offers a very different experience to an X-E series camera.

I tried an XE2 many years ago with a few fast primes - just didn't get on with it at all. In fact, i very much disliked it lol Cost me a few hundred quid to try too.
I bought an xe-4 and for the money, I did not really clck with it, so returned it and bought an OM5 instead lol. But still use the xe-1 the most

I really enjoyed the X-E2 especially when paired with a fast prime such as the 35mm f/1.4. I've always tended to use the EVF on the X100 cameras so it was a similar experience with the X-E2. Wish I'd kept it!FXE22258.jpgFXE22325.jpg

Has anyone here switched from a Fuji X100V to the new X100VI? Because I would be wondering if there is actually any valuable improvements for a person that does not film and also does needs to crop into pictures (heavily)

I did - sold the V and got the VI shortly after launch.

I don’t use video at all - never have on any cameras that I use to take photos.

If you like to crop then the extra MP/resolution is definitely a plus for the VI.

The IBIS is also another big plus.

Okay, thanks a lot for sharing! Then I might have a look if I will upgrade soon :D

IBIS can be helpful, less so a wider angle lens, and also completely useless if anything in the scene is moving, people, wind blowing tall grass, etc, it has its place, but with a leaf shutter which the X100 series have, with careful camera technique you can get good results with slow shutter speeds.

The cropping potential is definitely a bonus, as for most general purposes it means that the TCL is redundant, and you can crop to 90mm approx and still get a 6MP image.

Sods law, mate.
Just my luck :p

You OK mate? You look a bit pale... Maybe you should head home.
OK thanks, am WFH this afternoon so only had to suffer the morning :sneaky:

He’s probably using the works internet for an MPB quote at this very moment - got to be worth more if the box is sealed :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
Ha ha. I have actually done an MPB quote and was dismayed to find they are only offering £1099 now compared to £1500 in September when I sold it.
Looks like I’ll need to keep this one for the foreseeable then (y)

I wasn't expecting a firmware update on my X-T2, even if it seems to be to address issues with the app...

FFS, where's our X-T5 AF Firmware update? ;)
They are doing the important cameras first :p

TBH I haven't noticed that much difference in AF on the X-H2S with the latest firmware.

Nope, not seeing an instax firmware update :D

As I'm off to ComicCon this weekend, even if the X-T5 firmware had dropped this week it wouldn't be going anywhere near mine until I got back - It's not perfect, but I'm used to it.
