The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Often find the JJC ACCESSORIES ARE BETTER THAN THE OEM'S.

I have had to replace OEM lens hoods because the bayonet fittings have disintegrated. And won't stay locked on.r

The hoods on both my 16-55 and 10-24 are loose, won't lock into place anymore. I use a small bit of Gaffer Tape on the underside and that usually keeps them in place for a few outings. I keep some tape in my bag for when they need refixing.

I like the fact that the metal ones are fixed, so no need to reverse them for storage. The one I have has a nice grippy bit of something on the inside of the (also metal) cap. So stays on nicely :)

Another batch of mono's SOOC (Monochrome + Yellow Filter) from the X-Pro1 + XF35mm F1.4

I abandoned my x-Pro1 for the XT series because I found the ergonomics difficult but there is no doubt that the X-Pro 1 sensor has a nice quality about it that the later iterations don't quite match up to (IMHO :)). Nicely captured series.

Did look at these, do they extend the size more than the original?
Sorry for the late reply, mate. No not at all. I'll take a pic with my phone and post it tomorrow morning for you (y)

If taking more than one lens out for the day I'll usually skip the hoods, makes switching a bit more of a hassle and it can eat into limited bag space.
After my 16-55 hood failing I am very conscious of not having protection on my lens.

Hmmm, might be a temptation but so is the new version of the 16-55mm f2.8.
Until real world reviews are out. I'm not bothered.
That hood is so much better imho :)

Thanks Paul, looks like this one is the only viable alternative. I do have a metal lenshood on my 23 and to be honest I do like it greatly :)

The only issue I see with metal lens hoods, is that really you want them to act as a crumple zone, if they stay solid, then if the camera/lens takes a hard knock, the impact is passed directly to the lens itself.

No worries, mate (y) (iirc mine is from Amazon).

Hopefully that's what the folds top and bottom are for. Same as 35 1.4 ;)

Bit of a heartbreaking shot for me - The final shot from my Japan trip.

It was without a doubt, the best 3 weeks of my life. I rediscovered the awe and wonder, the curiosity of what the day might bring that I haven't felt since I was a child. There was no stress, no existential dread or worries at the back of my mind, just excitement. I'd wake up every morning feeling refreshed and eager to get up and get going. Every morning was like Christmas.

I struggled to keep it together after we took off, the plane turned, and this scene framed the entire trip in front of me - Our different bases all over Tokyo, our time around the lakes at mount Fuji, me proposing and her saying yes, our time hiking through the "Japanese Alps", and so much more. All those memories visible through the tiny window on the side of the plane. It was like the characters of a play doing a curtain call as all the people and places and experiences of the last few weeks came out one last time to take a bow and see us off.

Almost a year later and I'm still not over the crash back to reality.

X-T3 + XF100-400

@Jelster, the camera had 5,500 clicks on it when I bought from you, I've used it on 3 occassions now and added another 4,500 clicks!!!
That's lightweight I was standing nest to some chap at Silverstone at Motogp about 10 years ago and term machine gunner would be an understatement. I did ask how many images he shot over the 3 days and the answers was approx 30,000
