The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

I took my X-T1 out to use in anger for the first time last week. Was very glad to have weatherproof gear, it was very rainy! I didn't keep it out in the full rain, but it was nice not to be panicking about a few splashes.

And then indoors I used my X-T30 with the TTArtisan 7.5mm F./2 Fisheye.

@skullfunkerry Love a Vulcan. Used to live in Lincolnshire as a lad, and recall these beautiful machines flying overhead regularly (Scampton was about 20 miles from us). They always looked much bigger and more ominous in the air than on the ground, and that sound........:D

Love that Vulcan howl. Didn't think I'd ever hear it again when XH558 was grounded, but I went to a fast taxi run of XL426 at Southend Airport a few weeks ago and heard it again. Absolutely spine-tingling!

As a kid going to airshows with my Dad (ex WW2 air crew) I always remember Vulcans and Lightnings, especially when the Lightning did a low pass and vertical climb....

I posted last week about getting a 80mm macro lens to go with my XT-4 for a winter project. I understand that the minimum distance to the subject is 25cm and it gives a 1:1 ration. Can anyone tell me how close that gets an image. I’d really like to get very close in insects and spiders - would that be enough? I have heard about a Raynox DCR-150 or 250. Would that work to get closer and has anyone got any experience of what the final image looks like with that kind of extension? Alternatively, could the 80mm lens be used with a 1.4x converter and would that help at all?

Many thanks for your help, as always:)

I sometimes use a mcex16 with mine, and that gets silly close.

I used to use the dcr-250 on my Nikon 70-300 and it was plenty close enough

I can’t believe how long ago I took these. It’s obviously not a macro lens but shows what the Raynox does

Thank you. That’s exactly the kind of stuff that I’d like to shoot.

A grey, overcast day in South Wales, so mono (Acros +G) with a bit of playing around in PP the order of the day for some shots taken at Ogmore by Sea in Vale of Glamorgan with the X-S10 and 18-55.

There have been 4 new ones at Cambrian Photography in the last 3/4 weeks, all at RRP - you just need to be quick to secure one!

If this was like 12 months ago I would have snapped it up, but it's been out coming up to 3 years now so I am just going to wait for the next one.

Same here...I've given up on this one. However...If the replacement turns out to not be such an upgrade, then these will be cheaper...

Yup, depends on the spec, I will either put a Pre-order in when it is announced so get it at RRP or I will look for a pre-own X100v, which no doubt there will be lots. Even now I look at the Fuji groups on facebook there are people selling them hardly used. A lot are people who buy them to be trendy and brag than taking pictures.

I won't be getting it from them of course, rather get it from LCE.

Without knowing what the spec is... it is just a sensor bump to X-T5...then I will get the V. If they somehow can make IBIS work....then I will get the mk6. The IBIS would be the clincher I think.

My latest aquisition, plenty good enough for what I need.

First shots with it, went for a motorcycle ride over Dartmoor, the light was nice "God Beams" everywhere. It's very handy not to have to remove the crash helmet to get framing and focus.

£600 for the X-Pro2, £240 for the 50mm f2. Already have the 18/2, 23/2, 35/2 so that’s me sorted.

I’ve been looking for one at that price…I will probably look again in a few months after my finances recovers post Christmas.
