Blimey. It’s Keith. Wondered where you were. Sorry can’t help on the lens. Good to know you’re still around.Anyone here using the Viltrox 13mm 1.4? Heading away in a couple weeks and fancy this lens for travel - haven't bought any lens in quite a while as completely lost the 'mojo' but I feel something different [never used anything wider than 18mm on APSC] might spark some life back, just taking that if I buy with a 35 and 65 macro.

Keith, it is a fantastic lens. It is beautifully made with a heft and build quality that is on a par with my FujiFilm 14mm and IQ wise it is equal. I do not know how they do it for the money, from the metal hood to the USB C port on the lens mount, it is a cracker.Anyone here using the Viltrox 13mm 1.4? I will never get rid of my 14mm but were I in the market again, then the very impressive 13mm Viltrox is the one I would purchase.
I must admit to having read all the reviews and did think that they were too good to be true but took a punt and wow, it is a fantastic bit of kit. The cheeky devils even put a 'red' badge on it and packaged it properly, FujiFilm take note, and out of the box it makes that essential, one stab at a first impression, with aplomb. It is a bit 'Apple like' in its presentation rather than the FujiFilm egg box stuff. Thanks for that, I do like to hear actual user feedback as well as what the reviewers have to sayI was initially looking to the Sigma 16mm 1.4 but it's looking like the Viltrox trumps it in many ways - Better build [though no weather sealing, the Sigma has some level I believe] , a decent aperture ring, it focuses in closer [which I love] - most reviews are suggesting the Viltrox is sharper too, especially in the corners. Obviously it has the wider FOV [where I'm headed will have many lovely buildings and tight food markets for example] - They're about the same size and weight, but the Viltrox is more expensive. The Sigma can be got much easier used, if I did want to save a couple hundy, but I'm still more drawn to a new copy of the Viltrox
Should add the third option was the Sigma 18-50 2.8 for a light weight all-in-one walkabout

It looks and feels anything but a budget lens and once on a body, performs brilliantly. The focus is lightning fast, the AF motor is quiet and very accurate ( its on an X-H2 but even my beloved X-Pro2 is markedly quicker over the 14mm). IQ is superb and sharp edge to edge and the aperture ring is refreshingly tight and clickeable.
The only disadvantages over the 14mm is size and weight. It is a substantial all metal lens which should be considered for travelling.
AVM Photo are excellent to deal with and I believe the cheapest at £350.
Enjoy your travels!
Loving the warp effect background. Great work!

This
Yup, as I currently have a budget that doesn’t include the Q2 I’m excited to see what I’ve been missing out on.
I test drove the Q2 (and directly compared it against my X100F) befiore I bought my second (replacement) GFX. I loved the Q2, but couldn't (and still can't!) afford it as well as the GFX. That lens on the Q2 is amazing and loves to be shot wide open. The X100F was closer than I expected it to be (also having the benefit of a better all round focal length), but the Q2 was still the better camera. I was though disappointed on the shadow recovery in LR with the Leica.
The X100V has a sharper lens than my X100F especially wide open (and close up) - it also has a tilt screen (useful) - that said I didn't upgrade the F when the V was launched (my F is probably one of the most battered in the country so worth little) - and the I felt the upgrade cost against the additional performance (for my type of shooting) was worth it.
Check out Fuji X Weekly for more recipes.I had a plan to buy the Q3 much later down the line, but after using the X2D just ONCE for some street photography, zone focusing, I felt a bit frustrated - it's not the cameras fault, i) I wasn't in a good frame of mind ii) one outing is not much of a chance.
Even though I'd thought about Ricoh GRIII, 100V and Leica Q - I'd since pretty much convinced myself to use the X2D for street photography, and maybe I still will - but it's nice to have this other smaller option plus it's something I can always let Louise use on occasion too.
I'm also really psyched about the film simulations too![]()

Have you looked at these?Which is the digital zoom button on the Fuji X100V? I accidently hit it and couldn't fit out which one it is, had to turn it off and on to revert.
I was getting a little overwhelmed with how many recipe options there are, but so far the first and last on this page I like the look of so loaded those in.

Fuji’s film simulations aren’t just a filter you slap on. They’re unique to the Fuji ecosystem, endlessly customizable, and react in wildly different ways to different colors, light, tones and textures, and occasionally faithfully emulate classic film stocks. Here are the ones you need to know.www.sharkandpalm.com
