I'm going to look into this too. I was out taking shots at night last night (handheld) so lots of noise. Can PureRAW2 be a plug-in for Lightroom? If so, worth it if I use Lightroom? Why not investigate noise reduction software ?
Have a look at PureRAW 2. I use it regularly it’s superb.
Absolutely. I use it as a Lightroom plug in. I was recommended it by David @Mr PerceptiveI'm going to look into this too. I was out taking shots at night last night (handheld) so lots of noise. Can PureRAW2 be a plug-in for Lightroom? If so, worth it if I use Lightroom?

It’s Camera dependent. Check your camera is supported.Absolutely. I use it as a Lightroom plug in. I was recommended it by David @Mr Perceptive
It’s become an invaluable part of my workflow.

@Mr Perceptive post above answers all this perfectly but just wanted to add that currently PureRaw 2 (and indeed DXO Photolab 5 & 6) do not support either of the new 40mp bodies.I'm going to look into this too. Donna, DXO-PureRAW2 is very good, and yes you can use it as a plug in in Lightroom. They have only recenty added X-Trans sensors, and it now looks like most are supported. You can check here https://www.dxo.com/supported-cameras/
You do have to be careful with the sharpening slider afterwards, and sometimes the greens can need toning down a little afterwards.
I would say its definitely worth it if you are a Lightroom user. It is though quite processor intensive (with X-Trans and high resolution files eg GFX), so I import my RAWs into lightroom, select the images I want, do a rough edit on them, if I like the results, I then use DXO-PureRAW2 to reprocess and then re-apply my edit.
Thanks very much, no plans for the XT5 'yet', so the XT3 is covered@Mr Perceptive post above answers all this perfectly but just wanted to add that currently PureRaw 2 (and indeed DXO Photolab 5 & 6) do not support either of the new 40mp bodies.
According to a road map post on the DXO forum the XH-2 will be supported this month and the XT-5 in January in all 3 programs.
(XH-2s already supported).
Might not be an issue for you and whichever body you use but thought worth a mention just in case you have either of those bodies or were planning on getting.
. I am not overly techie but love Lightroom, and so this could really help (once I get the other 'alf to look at and install...And to you, tooHappy Christmas to everyone for now though, just about to head home to warmer climates and see family.
First time out with the X-T5 + XF23mm f1.4 WR today, got the go ahead from my GP to start getting out again since the ICE AGE lol

Thanks, GeorgeVery nice model/toy style capture Paul, certainly works for me matey.
Is there any way I can do a firmware update without having a card reader? I tried plugging camera in to desktop but it doesn't seem to let me write files to it.

I would think a lot of dealers have taken part exchanges recently with all the offers, takes a couple of weeks to list the used stock, might be more available soonFound a X-Pro 2 at Harrison for £550 but it seems that has been through hell and back. ffordes has one at £650.
I might wait until after Christmas, I bet a few people are replacing it with a new camera in this period.
