The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

I will eventually, but I'm in no rush. I've only just jumped from my X-T1 to an X-T3. I don't really need the extra resolution or AF speed - I kinda want the IBIS, but not that much.

I meant in terms of speed and low light. Must admit I was surprised by the comment. So maybe it's just the tracking and subject recognition that's the advantage.

@trevorbray How's the low light AF on the XH-2 mate ? Better than a T4 ?
Actually hardly shot anything low light with that X-T4. Didn’t have it long enough.
This with H2. It’s brilliant. ISO 12800. Indoors natural light. Super fast to lock on with eye af. Very sticky. Very accurate

Blow it upside down by -justTrev-

Just had a quick surf, £500.00 :(

What is the going rate for a used XT3 at the moment? £700?
Wex email announcement listed the XT-4 at £750 for trade-in.

Can‘t recall what they were saying for other versions but what @Norkie says is probably about right.

LCE have always been the most competitive for me. At least with lenses.

If I can find a XT4 for £750....I might upgrade that from my XT1. The IBS would be nice to have.

I know it is hard to believe but I'm done with buying cameras now, as for me in APS-C I have the best in the X-S10 + X-T3.

I'm in the same sort of boat - but nevertheless the X-T5 and X-H2 are both sorely sorely tempting .....

I'm going to my first long huil trip in 3 years shortly and weighing up and sizing my kit has been interesting. Now I'm fully committed to Fuji I've been able to squeeze in a bit more kit than I expected into my cabin baggage allowance. It's nice for once being able to include extra stuff into a tight baggage allowance rather than leaving it behind.

But which of the 2? X-T5 or X-H2? I like them both but can only have one. The Cf Express card slot on the X-H2 puts me off a little.

You can use the X-H2 without a CFExpress card and my initial reservation on getting the X-H2S because of the cost of a CF card was blown away by the sheer speed of it, it clears buffers so quickly. It’s not as essential on the X-H2 as it is a slower camera but you would loose the two card back up.

I still have my X-T4 and will not upgrade to the T5 as the EVF on the H2’s is just fantastic in comparison and the inability to add a battery grip is (for me) a retrograde step. I have one battery grip between my H2’s.

If you like the classic dials, prefer the T5 screen and do not need a battery grip then it ticks the boxes...and you can have it in silver too!

Dear X100 series users...

Before I decide how much I'm going to invest in this system I have a question.

In sunny conditions the EVF of my X100s goes dark and so much so that I can't see some detail and it's even worse when pointing in the general direction of the sun when a lot of detail disappears and the EVF is pretty much unusable. My other EVF equipped cameras are much better and remain useable even when pointing into the south / east and sun.

Just to double check... do they all do this and if anyone has owned any other newer model of X100 are they any better?

I do know that I can switch to the OVF in bright daylight but I'm just concentrating on the EVF here. If they are all like this I think I'll stick with the s and forget about a f or v. Thanks if anyone can offer any info.

Alan

I've just tested this! Both Cameras in same metering mode (multi) and EV0 not a sunny day here! Looking out of the window and moving the camera from looking down to looking roofttops/skywards

With Orginal X100 as it points skywards the EVF doesn't go dark but the sky whites out very rapidly.

With X100F as it points skywards more detail is retained in the sky

Neither EVF 'goes dark', but the window fram goes darker the brighter the sky gets with both cameras.

Does that make sense?

Thanks.

It makes sense but it doesn't match up with what I'm seeing, an unusable evf in strong light. What you are seeing is how my other cameras behave.

I'll have another look through the settings.

Well I never.

I've just tried it again and it's ok, just like my other cameras, not quite as good but ok and useable. This is the second time it's done this as it did the same thing when we went to the seaside the other day and I had to switch to the OVF. At that time I convinced myself it was something I'd done but now I don't think so.

To describe what I've seen, in multi metering mode as you go from pointing away from the sun to the sun to pointing in its general direction the shadows go too dark and block up almost completely and I can see next to no detail and the sky doesn't retain colour and detail either. And shading the VF with my hand made no difference.

We're going out just now so I'll take the camera with me and see how it behaves. If it does this again maybe a reset might be worth a try.

OMG!!! Have you seen the Max SS 180,000 on the X-T5
Crazy eh... I think it's the wex review where she took it to Brighton beach and shot wide open with the new 56 pmsl

I think I need to ignore this thread for a while :D
Veeery tempted by the X-T5. Not sure I "need" it as such, but I skipped the X-T4 as it came relatively soon after my X-T3 and wasn't enough of an upgrade, whereas the X-T5 feels like a more worthwhile step. Exciting times in the Fuji system!

So I bought the XH1 and sold it immediately and bought an XH2… does anyone know if XT3 batteries can be used in the XH2? Will now stick the XT3 on eBay and fancy the 33mm

Well the XT5 is due for delivery on/from 17th November.
Got to say that I have one on order and I am really enjoying the XH2 images and their IQ. The XH2S is also very nice for BIF shooting but the XT5 will give me a control interface that I really prefer.

I need to think about releasing my Nikon kit. The Z7 was/is nice but the XH2 and XT5 will give me the same quality.

Same quality ?? That’s a real win and something I wouldn’t have thought could happen.

e-infinity have the X-H2S at £1799. Bargain.

Just watched Andy Mumford video.

I said I won’t. My XT-4 is fine, but…I’m tempted!
You might want to check DPR’s test image. In comparison to my X-T2 at ISO 1600, the X-T2 has noticeably better image quality than the X-T5. I guess that’s to be expected given the number of pixels they’ve jammed onto the sensor. Also you may need to upgrade your computer and storage to accommodate the 82MB RAW files.
