Like a fairy dreamland
When the X-T4 came out, it was doing dual duty, as there wasn't a corresponding X-Hx camera for that generation. Now, there's the X-H2 and X-H2s above it, who would buy one if the X-T5 has most of the features at a lower cost?Interesting, wouldn't that be a significant downgrade losing IBIS over the X-T4?
I agree with you, I would prefer the X-H2(s) auto focus with a 26MP pixel sensor, but that has been confirmed as not happening.Would they make the jump in resolution or keep the 40MP sensor for the X-H2 flagship? I've only just bought an X-T4 so I'm only an interested onlooker, but for sports shooting 40MP is an active turn off. But they I guess for sports they want you to buy the X-H2s, which if I'd waited a few months is probably what I'd have gone for.
I find that the various settings may work best when used as specified but the bird eye one seems to be really good. It works with insects as well.My loaner X-H2s, 33/1.4, and 100-400 just turned up this morning. Subject tracking so far seems fantastic but only used it pointed at the pet bunnies in the garden. Realised it was set for bird detect but was still locked on the rabbits eye most of the shots.
Wrench MenuOne odd thing. I’m not seeing a live exposure preview through the evf, and I can’t even see the exposure details like iso and ss etc until I half press, at which point it’s locked. How do I change these? I’m assuming it’s just a terminology difference which means I can’t find it in the menus.
Thanks. Very odd it’s off by default.Wrench Menu

I read lots about how the 100-400 is a little bit soft at the long end while I was researching the Fuji system. This is wide open at 400mm, there's not much to complain about here I don't think?

Battersea IV by Ian, on FlickrThese are fantastic IanThree from Battersea Power Station on Saturday. I had to leave before the ambient light fell enough to get the full effect of the lighting of the station but that's an excuse to go back. Hopefully there won't be any singers performing next time as it sounded like they were in serious pain, from my side of the river

I've always found MPB to be very good...Can anyone recommend anywhere else to sell a couple of Fuji lenses? Prefer not to use eBay, and not much interest on here.

You could try WEX in Norwich - only 50ish miles up the road from youI have too but price has dropped in the last week so not an option now, in no major rush so hopefully it will pick up
Mpb? Or facebook marketplace? You'll get stupid offers at first but I've found after a few weeks on marketplace the right buyer comes along. Can anyone recommend anywhere else to sell a couple of Fuji lenses? Prefer not to use eBay, and not much interest on here.
Shows how different strokes work for different folks. I’m really happy with the layout. But I rarely need to change settings under pressure. Love the 7 custom settings. Nit pick, I prefer the small nipple joystick.I'm interested to know how others are getting on with the XH2 and/or XH2S controls interface. I am finding that whilst it is nice to be able to set up my cameras identically but the rumoured XT5 seems like more like I really want. I have pre-ordered an XT5 as for me the XT3 has perfect control interface. I find it much faster to work with than having to use the EV compensation on the rear command dial and adjust ISO via the ISO button and joystick.

I'm so tempted to pick up an x-h2s of my own now, in fact so tempted I'm thinking of switching completely to Fuji. Really enjoying just the experience all round with the X-H2s now.

How do you find the ISO performance between the H2s and H2? Coming from the Z9 I really do like the higher resolution files but the noise is obviously going to be significantly lower on a full frame sensor. I'm finding the H2s actually outperforms the Z9 in AF by a significant margin in my testing so far, which is a real surprise.I must admit that I was in two minds regarding the controls interface but the X-S10 kind of weaned me onto the PSAM dial and I very quickly learned to really like and appreciate the custom settings. I find it very quick to change now I have seven options 'plugged' in and I rarely change settings. I much prefer the X-H2S with the 150-600mm over my X-T4 and the ability to change to my preferred settings at the turn of a dial is excellent and instantaneous.
But I do understand exactly where you are coming from. I have sold the X-H1 but have kept the X-T4 and will have a close look at the X-T5 once the specs are finalised and not rumour-mill speculation.
The X-H2S is a fantastic bit of kit, I have identical settings set up on the X-H2 and tomorrow, courtesy of LCE, an 8-16mm will be delivered to really put the X-H2 through its paces.
I rented one a while back, loved it but was scared of damaging the front lens and swore I would never buy one as the 10-24mm did most of what I wanted.
Yet another broken promise to add to a very long list.

I find that the X-H2 is noisier than the S at higher ISO's but its base ISO is lower (125 vs 160). The detail up to about ISO 1800 is fantastic and as I bought the X-H2 for its resolution for landscape and interior shots I am more than delighted with it but I have only had it for a few days and haven't really put it to a thorough test.
I am luck to have both, were I limited to one the X-H2S would be my choice. It is a superb bit of kit and faster than a very fast thing. The AF and subject detection is unbelievably good.
If higher ISO's are a pre-requisite for your type of photography then I would recommend the X-H2S over the X-H2. They are both fantastic cameras which satisfy different needs.
It will be interesting to see what the non-speculation and rumour-mill specifications of the X-T5 bring to the party once it is properly announced and released.
