The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Have to say that pretty much everything coming out of the 33mm looks amazing.. not helping my GAS, this

Having been delighted with my Viltrox 13mm I thought that it was worth a £230 punt on the Viltrox 56mm f 1.4.

It is a beautifully made lens and has a heft and build quality that is not too far off FujiFilm. Early days but Viltrox are really upping their game and a 75mm is rumoured to be on the way.

Thanks chaps. I need to explore other ways to be creative with this lens. I’ve only got more shots on the same theme just now.

I think it works well with the bikes, Trevor. Gives it something a bit different.

Took the (hired) X-H2s to Wicken Fen nature reserve at the weekend to look for dragonflies. I wasn't disappointed with the wildlife or the camera! These two Migrant Hawkers obligingly paused their flight by landing briefly on reeds in front of us.

Went for a walk at a spot I've been to a few times - decided to try the other side of the lake this time and found loads of smaller lakes full of water lilies!

Not sure which crop I prefer. I was initially drawn to the symmetry with the reflection, but I didn't leave myself enough room for a pleasing crop with the whole thing. I think I'd need to get right down on the surface of the water for that kind of symmetry to really work. For now, I think I prefer the 16:9 with the cut off reflection. You live and learn!

A couple more from a few weeks ago in the pub garden. People who know me will know how tough this was to shoot. I have been swarmed by wasps several times in my life (when I was much younger playing in fields etc, I had an uncanny knack of treading on their underground nests!). I've trodden barefoot on hornets, and even had a wasp sting me UP my nose. After all that, I now get a bit woozy, sleepy, and generally don't react well whenever I get stung, so I have a pretty healthy fear of the buggers.

Image stabilisation saved the day here because I was shaking like a leaf!

Two different but very nice captures Jamie, liking both of these very much.

Another race weekend with my X-T4, 100-400mm and 18-55mm, this time the Silverstone Classic. I'm so impressed with some of the shots I got with the little 18-55, it's so much more than a kit lens.

The XF18-55 is a very good lens, obviously its got a few limitations compared with the XF16-55 losing out on aperture (long end), weather resistance and that 2mm on teh wide end. But in its favour, its nice and sharp and much, much lighter. It shoudln't really be called a kit lens, more of a bundled lens!!

GOJIRAAAAAAAA!

I briefly owned an R33 GTST. Still gives me goosebumps just thinking about it.

It's a lot of money to pay and weight to carry for one stop of light / bokeh but yes the 16-55 is a better lens. I'm just very impressed with the sharpness and overall IQ from what is effectively the Fuji kit lens. Other brands kit lenses are almost all awful.

IMO the Fuji XF18-55 is the best kit lens made, it's a shame they call it the kit lens.

Superb set. Some great framing here. Love the processing too.

Long way off yet. But I’m promising myself I won’t preorder the X-H2.

Anyone else…?

I could really have used a second (APS-C) body last Sunday.

Thank you. Starts with the Classic Chrome profile as a base and then my own processing on top of that. Nothing major done to any of these though. One of the main reasons I switched to Fuji was for the colours and overall feel of the images and so far I’m not disappointed
