The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Nice images.

Viltrox. Talk to me. Please. Haha.

I've been thinking of picking up the 85 and maybe the 23. How do you find using them in the real world in terms of focus speed and accuracy and quality of images coming through them? I'm just on my phone just now but the photos looks great. Will need to check then out on the computer later.
Highly recommend the Viltrox, and actually I am looking at either the 23 or 33 as my next purchase (and the Fuji 70-300 when it arrives!). I only have 2 lenses - the 16-80 which was my favourite until I got the 85mm II (sold my 55-200 as just didn't feel the vibe). I got the lens off the guy everyone was recommending on here via Facebook Marketplace Lee Cheswick, great service.

I wish Viltrox did a 10mm or something similar for landscape - would welcome any suggestions for a landscape lens at a good price.

PS it isn't WR so that is a factor for me that I do not take out if there is chance of drizzle/rain.

Merry Xmas to you all... I had a birthday yesterday too, so was either helping in the kitchen, or drinking

I also had a chance to play on my radio for an hour or so yesterday morning, took the camera out at around 10.30 and it started lashing it down, so no photo's today.....

You could try the Fuji 14mm. Used prices are pretty good. I only sold mine to help fund the 16-55

Does anyone have the 50mm f1.0? If so, can you comment on it over the 56/1.2? (y)

Anybody know much about the forthcoming 18mm 1.4 and 70-300mm? Potentially keen on both. I guess the 18mm is likely to be very similar to the 16mm 1.4 in terms of price and function but is there any word on where the 70-300 is likely to sit? I was keen on the 100-400 but a weather sealed 70-300mm could be just the ticket.

Brilliant. I have an original copy of that album somewhere in the garage.

Thanks, matey (y)
Nice ... That might be worth something, if it`s in good nick ;)

Season's greeting to all!

I borrowed a X-T20 and the 16-50 to capture some family moments over the holidays but for indoor use found the lens too slow to capture the kids or it would hit high ISO at 12800 if tried to have a reasonable shutter speed to avoid blur.

Looking to forgo the iPhone 12 Pro Max and stick to the Google Pixel for snaps and then just invest in faster glass for indoor use where even the best camera phones struggle.

Any input for those who captured their family and kids this week with a Fuji set-up?

Do you find the 23mm or 35mm too tight for indoor?

Research has led me to look at the Fuji 16mm 1.4, Viltrox 23mm 1.4 and Fuji 35mm 1.4 for indoor use and the previously mentioned Godox TT350F for times want to bounce flash.

Just about to click on buying a Viltrox 23mm - any reason I shouldn't?
Is it good with fast AF?
Ok for landscape?

Where you getting it from? I'm looking as mentioned above to capture pictures of the family indoors as hoping the 1.4 churns out something decent and is quick to focus.

Lee Cheswick on Facebook marketplace - great price and I have bought from him before (as have many on this forum).

Do you have a link to his marketplace advert please? Don't worry i'm not after the 23mm :p, just want to see if he's got anything else for sale.

Try this https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/756935928190593/?ref=search&referral_code=undefined, or just search for Viltrox 23mm on marketplace - his listings are in Chesterfield. I can't seem to get his link, but click on him for his other listings. I have just ordered the 23mm but he does have more than 1 available, and he does have the 33, 56 and 85 in stock too.

For £165, well worth the punt :)

I use fuji 23mm 1.4 indoors a lot. Love that length and it’s a beautiful lens. But will depend what you’re shooting as to whether it’s too tight. 16mm 1.4 is superb and focusses faster. It’s probably the ultimate answer to your question but fairly pricy. There’s an 18mm 1.4 on the way too.

I do think the 23mm could cover most things except maybe when handover the camera to the family and be in the picture myself as they struggle to capture anything. The Viltrox 23mm 1.4 seems a bargain at £165 and could see how I get on. I have tried the 27mm 2.8 and that focal was not too bad but a bit tight for group shots.

The shot selection is mainly capturing cake cuttings, kids playing with toys or them perfoming dances or candid stuff between the siblings. Just finding the phone falls apart when doing burst mode or low light stuff so trying for a new set-up for 2021 to actually take less shots but more quality rather than a phone full of snaps.

On a separate note what do you guys do to be part of the picture? Hand over to someone else and hope they can snap a half decent shot or put on a tripod with timer?
