The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

My 100-400 arrived last night. I currently can't walk, so limited in what I can do with it at the moment, but got a quickie of a robin on the feeder from the dining room window.

The plan is to start camping out in the forest surrounding my house and getting some nice wild boar and deer, possibly badger photos, but that's on hold until my foot decides to stop being an arse.

Morning folks,

I've got a little giveaway I would like to do with all X100F owners.

So what i need is for everyone who owns a Fuji X100F to drop me a PM between now and tomorrow 12pm (24th).

From that list I will draw one person at random to be gifted with my genuine Fuji Leather case for said camera.
Actual case shown below. I'm not using it so would like it to go to a good home and hopefully this spreads a little Xmas cheer at the same time because frankly its been a rubbish year as it is.

Good luck all (y)

I have just been informed I have won this excellent looking case
thanks to @stupar for his generosity

@stupar let me know your favourite charity and I will donate a suitable amount in lieu of payment for this

once again thanks

Well done mate, it will be posted during the holidays for you!

If you wish to make a token donation to charity then Parkinsons UK is close to my heart.

Cheers
Stu

Thanks, a bit of Velvia simulation never goes amiss with shots like this, printing it on A3 as we speak!

Tier 3, something (other than lockdown), we've not experienced before......................

I bet that`ll look superb when printed out big :)

Haha just wait for tier 4 .... Full lockdown esq, but still gotta go to work ;) Hey ho.

It looks great printed A3 so far, might go A2 tomorrow cos its Christmas!

I wonder how it would look on one of those metal prints. Can`t for the life of me think what they`re called lol (and I haven`t had a drink yet ;))

I'm still catching up with this thread (only about four weeks to go!) so if you're wondering why you're getting 'likes' on old posts and images, that's why! Here's another close-up from earlier this year, looking straight down into a box of drinking straws.

Great colours and really like the lighting. Care to share how this is lit please? I’m only really a natural light photographer and haven’t dabbled with flash/supplemental lighting much.

Thank you, Alan - this was back in May so I'm not 100% sure but it would have been something simple, The camera was on a tripod and I held a LED torch behind the clear box so the straws were backlit, and there was probably another one overhead and slightly to one side. I would highly recommend playing around with a couple of LED torches to experiment with the light and shadows.

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you get lots of Fuji glass and cameras ;)

Aye, I wish! wouldn't mind opening a 100-400 under the tree ... not about to happen though :ROFLMAO: but I have requested an 85 1.8 replacement for my birthday [NYE] and been told it'll get done

Anyone who does get some nice photo gear, enjoy, I have a pile of gifts to open that I see under the tree here so I'm grateful for whatever [even if they turn out to be all socks and Lynx sets :D ] It's just nice to be thought of. Our gilrs are a bit more grown up, so sadly Santa has left the building a couple year now, 13 and 16, but still excited and mad to open some gifts so we did one open tonight/well, last night and it was fun. They'll still be up early tomorrow and I'll still enjoy watching them open the mound of gifts we got for them ...

Hope all goes great for all on here, have a blast.

Apparently this is mint conditon.
Bought an Xt1 for my wife from eBay. It didn't arrive until the 16th and I've not had a chance to check it over until she unwrapped it this morning.

Oh dear that's not great. I'm assuming its actually scratched instead of cleanable markings? Hope you get it sorted.

The coating is stripped off. Looks like someone’s been in there with something completely unsuitable. You can see the swipe marks go left to right and its just stripped big patches off.

Damn! you sure it's not some type of protective cover on the sensor? looks like it's some kind of sticker? A sensor won't be that colour nor have bubbles, try peeling it off

I was lucky, I bought my partner a used Samsung S6 tablet, and apart from no box, it looks like brand new, came with a brand new cover too - they guy used it for a couple weeks then decided he wanted the S7, got a nice price on it too. Thankfully never had any horror stories when buying used, just stick to 100% feedback sellers who have good communication

Hope I'm right that it looks like some kind of film over the sensor, maybe placed there for transport? if not hope you get sorted with a full refund.

It's the same colour as my xt3, just the photo makes.it look red for some reason. It's definitely not a cover. Never known a camera sensor have a cover on it either. The seller is being helpful for a change and has sent a return label.

It looks like there's bubbling too though, which wouldn't happen with a sensor [as it's like glass] - but of course I can only go by the image, hope you get it sorted either way - bummer that, would have been nice for her to start using it today

Thats good they're being helpful about it..make sure you keep a log of everything you've done and not done with photos etc but hope you get something new for your partner.
