The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

I stopped visiting TP in the summer and I'm not sure why, probably just got out of the habit, but over the last fortnight I've been reading this thread from where I left off. I am still about three months behind (and they say women can talk!! :) ) but just wanted to say how much I am enjoying this thread again and the variety of images. I still haven't reached the end of the thread but thought I'd pop my head up and share an image taken during lockdown.

Which models did you own Rick...?

Cheers;
Pete

I've owned loads over the years, but when one of my best friends got killed last year I though enough was enough.

The last 4 I had and sold following his death were:

BMW S1000R
Honda Blackbird
GSXR750K1
Honda CB500

Morning folks,

I've got a little giveaway I would like to do with all X100F owners.

So what i need is for everyone who owns a Fuji X100F to drop me a PM between now and tomorrow 12pm (24th).

From that list I will draw one person at random to be gifted with my genuine Fuji Leather case for said camera.
Actual case shown below. I'm not using it so would like it to go to a good home and hopefully this spreads a little Xmas cheer at the same time because frankly its been a rubbish year as it is.

Good luck all (y)

That's a lovely gesture, although I have an X100F, a case would altogether be too hipster for me :ROFLMAO: so I will pass on this, I hope it finds a good home!

Just wanted to echo what David said, it's very generous of you. I also have an X100F but I have a leather half-case which I'm very happy with but hopefully someone will take you up on your kind offer. (y)

That is a really lovely thing to do Stuart, in these times it is just great to see how lovely the members are here.
I've done the same sort in the past too, trying to help others is a fantastic thing to do and more so in these strange times.

Aw I'm sure you could rock the hipster look just fine Mr P :p

The number of black cameras I've bought this year is considerably more than the number of silver cameras

Black
Fuji GSW690III
Fuji GA645
Fuji STX-2
Fuji STX-2 (an unused minter!)
Ricoh FF-9 - cost a whole £2 from an antiques warehouse

Silver
Fuji X-M1 - for my pinhole project stands me at £35!!
Olympus Trip AF50 - from same Antiques Warehouse as Ricoh FF-9, cost £1.50 sold for £20!

Summary
More Black Cameras than Silver - - ergo I'm not a Hipster :ROFLMAO:
Overpriced Silver Cameras Sell - probably to said Hipsters :ROFLMAO:

Of course having acquired so many film cameras might make me a hipst :exit:

The Antiques Warehouse, is just one of those large centres with loads of small units and cabinets, the one not that far from me, has hundreds of units, all in assorted farm buildings. we went there about 3 months ago, and on one unit, there were several film cameras including a mint Olympus AF50 and a mint Ricoh FF-9 for a total price of £3.50. I have kept he Ricoh as its quite a decent thing, and far cheaper than some of hyped film compacts. A couple of batteries later, and I had a nice working Ricoh FF-9. I ran of roll of cheapo film through the Olympus to make sure its ok, then flogged it on eBay.

PMSL at you two. I have a silver X100F but I'm certainly no hipster. I only bought it this year and it was the last one WEX had. It was £500 cheaper than the V so, if that makes me a hipster, I'll wear that label with pride!
My X100F was a steal so colour had no bearing for me.
If folk start pointing at me in the street though then I am going to have to take action and get the black paint out :ROFLMAO:

Of course people with black camera users who are closet hipsters can also go the other way

Wow that is proper hipster right their.
Shame the writer of the article doesn't know the difference between brought and bought when talking about what sandpaper they acquired. I stopped reading at that point! :banghead::ROFLMAO:

Good to have you back!

My X100f is silver too because they look much better than black :D The silver ones look even better with a brass soft shutter button, but it does make them look a bit trendy. With that camera and round glasses and bushy beard, I don't think I'm helping the stereotype of silver cameras being hipster

Your photos have constantly been a source of pleasure to me, and if wouldn't be difficult to say that you are my Talk Photography photographer of the year. Amazingly and constantly excellent work. Thank you for sharing and inspiring.
Steve, thanks and you're too kind. I hang out here in the hope that the eye and knowledge of the other members, all vastly more experienced and skilled, rubs off on me! But glad you like my efforts...cheers.

Sounds like one near me - Dagfields.

Nice gesture mate given these tough times.

I'll pass as I think I'm going to move my X100F on as I hardly use it... prefer the look and experience of my M10P.

"IT MADE EXPLORE" :) :)

Just a simple candid street style Fujigraph taken at London UK of a young lady with her Violin doing a bit of street playing.
I just love the look of concentration on this childs face.

Love reading this thread, as I feel part of thee Fuji family - although I only have the X-T3, and although been tempted with another one, I really don't need it (well that's what I keep trying to tell myself).
I haven't been out too much lately with the camera but then twice in one day - one of my niece's daughter and then the fog came in so had to capture that too.

Nice images.

Viltrox. Talk to me. Please. Haha.

I've been thinking of picking up the 85 and maybe the 23. How do you find using them in the real world in terms of focus speed and accuracy and quality of images coming through them? I'm just on my phone just now but the photos looks great. Will need to check then out on the computer later.
