The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

It was just plain (filtered) water, and the camera was not turned on, so hopefully it should be OK after a few days drying out. @davidy233's post from a few weeks back has given me some confidence.

I'm going to give it a few more days drying out, then try it and will contact Fuji if it doesn't seem right.
Ouch - hopefully you get the same result as I did

Had a phone go through the first bit of a wash in the washing machine. My son's. We put it in a bag of rice for a week then tumble dried it inside several pairs of thick socks. It worked fine at the end.

One for Christmas with the Samyang 135mm. About a 50% crop

Ian Worth just put up a good video on that, giving his thoughts on it. I'm surprised you are struggling with the XT3 though. What is it that puts you off?

Thanks for the tip re the video. I'm not keen o the way the X-T3 feels in my hand. Prefer conventional dial controls - especially dislike the clunky rear dial. Constantly unintentionally changing the aperture on the 56mm as I tend to support the lens with my left hand. One thing I love is the simple green line level indicator best I've experienced on any camera.

Why not use your left hand to alter the aperture on the lens - its old skool but muscle memory soon kicks in.

And the green line whilst good is only a guide, both the EVF and rear screen are low res images compared to the final output, so when editing the full image its sometimes a few pixels out!

I do use my left hand to alter the aperture but when I'm taking 500 shots at f4 I want it too stay at f4 not change to f5.6 when I'm not concentrating because I twitched a bit. Fully aware this is operator error but I just can't seem to get used to it.

As for the green line, I promise you a few pixels out is far more accurate than I manage without it.

This is beginning to get a bit embarrassing. ;):)

Believe it or not yet another of my snaps are in explore this very day. Its just a simple candid street style snap taken of a young girl playing her violin in a street somewhere in London and was taken on my old X-30 (not an XT-30). It will eventually find its way into this thread.

George.

Congrats. I've never been on explore but I read once that apparently it's 0.005% of photos that get on it and that's quite an achievement!

Many thanks for that.,

The embarrassing bit a out it is that I've now had over twenty snaps in explore during the last three months. I thought originally that shots might only be chosen from the Pro A/Cs but I only have the standard free A/C so I'm baffled as to how the selections take place.

George.

One of life’s mysteries. Several years back I had photos in explore 6 days in a row

Very odd

There is definitely an interaction element in the algorithm, if you get a reasonable number of 'likes' but more importantly comments which you respond to, then you seem to have a better chance of being explored (In My Experience - from several Explores over the years).

Just a simple tourist type Snapograph taken at Kent UK of the engine of an American LaFrance Car that was at a vintage car display.

I suppose it's a personal thing. The XT3 fits me like a glove. I'm with you on the Command Dial though. I mainly use the rear dial for changing the focus area or zooming in to check. It's pretty useless for anything else really.

First light at San Marco in Venice.........trying to get a cliched shot of gondolas bobbing at the waters edge but with no ND filters and only my little Gorillapod Mini tripod I'm sure that passers-by wondered about the idiot down on his hands and knees crouching on the quayside and getting his bum wet.

My X-T2 has survived its soaking on Friday! As my son was dressed up for his nursery Christmas party I thought it was time to give the camera a try - and it worked.

I'm pretty sure the slight softness is due to having autofocus in "S" rather than "C" for trying keep up with a fast moving toddler...

Treated the X-T2 to an L bracket so I can use my new tripod.

Might have been the 1/50 SS rather than the focus, though i suppose it depends what he was moving, looks like his facial expression to me..

Possibly, he was running towards me. I thought I had 1/60th set as the maximum shutter speed on auto ISO, it must have been darker than I thought.

Looks like his enthusiasm had run out long before the duracells ;)

Used the X-H1 today briefly for the first time in a few weeks taking a dozen photo's of my mates newly purchased Triumph Tiger 900 motorcycle....... photo to follow once I get editing them etc....

Oh my word, the H1's shutter feel/quietness and stealthiness is simply amazing....!!
