Another quick JPG edit off the X100f from today taken along the little road to Glen Entive.
What a place the Highlands are... can’t wait to come back again sometime soon!
I’ve really enjoyed using the X100f over the past few days, wondering if a V upgrade would be the ‘only’ camera I’d need!

That's really helpful thank you, I normally shoot in RAW only but must try others as well so I can try out the ACROS Film Simulation. Must play more with the camera and capabilities (and also see how to cap the shutter speed - as I don't have that). To tell the truth I don't know even how to set the jpeg settings, so will read up on this too! So all these great colours and presets that Fuji offer, I have never taken advantage of! What do people set their jpegs at - fine?

Cloudy Days by Nick Lowe, on FlickrDonna, I shoot RAW+Fine, I do sometimes set the Film Simulations in the camera especially if I'm intending the final image to be mono - just be aware that the histogram reflects the film simulation and not the RAW file. 99.9% of the time I edit the RAW file for the final image, and most of the time I only copy the RAWs from the camera, and just re-format over the JPGs.
It was certainly true on the older Fujifilm cameras that you could zoom in further on the JPG on the back of the camera than you could on the RAW, must admit I've not checked this for years!!

Afternoon walk around one of the quieter coastlines on the Isle of Wight, beach is not so accessible so the you don't bump into many people.

A walk over the Long Mynd the other day, looking for heather to photograph. Took a snap of one of the local residents while wandering around.

I think I’m going to give the trial version of Affinity Photo a go as my Adobe sub is up for renewal in a month or two. I’m fed up of paying the monthly sub so hopefully Affinity will be a suitable alternative.
Anyone jumped from Adobe to Affinity and glad they did, or not for that matter? I may keep Capture One as well unless Affinity does a good job with the Fuji Raw files.
Photoshop runs pretty crappily on my iMac, (which isn’t that old.) Is Affinity less resource hungry?
It's been quite a few weeks since I traded in my Sony A7Riii for an X-T4 and today I've been thinking about how I felt since the swap.
For the first few days there was a gut wrenching feeling every time I looked at images at 100%, and after that lugging around the rather wonderful but heavy 16-55 I was plagued with regret, especially at higher ISO. Since then I've bought the 35mm 1.4 and I think I've found what I was looking for in the swap. A simple and connected feeling when using the camera with JPG output that is good enough for 95% of the time, to the point where I find myself deleting the RAWs and spending my time on things other than getting acceptable colours. Some of this is down to sticking with a prime which could have been achieved with the Sony but....hey ho.
Now I question myself if I should have just gone for the X-T3 as the faster lens allows for usable shutter speed and oh my, would I give a lot for the X-T3 tilting screen! There is also the question of do I sell the 16-55 to put towards a 16 f1.4 and 23 f2 for a little kit of primes? For now I think the 35 will stay firmly attached until I don't think about the hardware I'm using at all. Who knows, one day I will probably go back to full frame just for higher ISO but for now mission accomplished.
TLDR: I like taking photos now.

Thanks George, incredibly bright with loads of contrast so mono was the way forwardThree very nice landscape/seascape Fujigraphs Nick, with the two mono presentations pushing all the right buttons for me.
George.
Sorry Dave I should have dropped you a note.I`m glad you got the lens, and thanks for letting me know you got it![]()
Having to pull it out 90 degrees, swivel 180 then push it further down (and vice versa) vs flip out 45 degrees and then push back when done. I'm sure it's great if you vlog but it's not for me. Also of you want to use it in landscape orientation to hold the camera low then the screen is where your left hand would like to be to cradle the camera.I'm happy with my T3 and don't really need the upgrade that the T4 brings but I thought the T4 screen would be better with it being articulated?

On the other hand, the shutter noise makes me want to use it continuously so it's swings and roundabouts!
That`s a lovely shot Nick.

Lovely lens isnt it? Getting some amazing people shots and really enjoying being out with some lighter gear.
Yeah it really is. And at that price you can’t go wrong
DSCF5617 by Stuart Pardue, on FlickrDefinitely not, loving the V trinity, the 33 is the weakest in terms of AF/Sharpness, not that its soft or slow in comparison to 1st party. Hoping we see the 56 at a decent price.
How do you rate the 23mm Nick? He’s doing the 33 at the same price, but I have the 23 already
Love it. I’ve always had the 23 since I moved to Fuji. It’s generally my go to for my street stuff and weddings etcHow do you rate the 23mm Nick?
