How big is the 16-55 compared to the 55-200? I`m just trying to get some sort of size comparison, and google isn`t playing ball at the moment.

About the same length when not extended, the 55-200 is thinner and lighter, and obviously extended a lot more. The 16-55 doesn't extend very much at 55, but is a fair bit fatter.

16-55mm is a cracking lens even wide open, it is a weight but you get used to it quickly.

Thanks, chaps :) I got my eye on one, for a one lens option when (London isn`t full of idiots) I can safely get into town again. But all these second spikes are a tad worrying

It is a fine lens, The only reason I sold mine at the time was I was eager to try the 16 1.4 - there is nothing to fault really in the 16-55 only I wish it focused closer/had better magnification, just suits my style - I think if it did I'd probably still own it, the perfect lens maybe. Of course this won't matter to most, it focuses close enough for most scenarios and it is tack sharp at 2.8, where some similar lenses [typical fast 24-70 on other systems] need stopping down a bit for ultimate sharpness.

I'm not sure how the 16-55mm compares to the 55-200 size wise, but I will say what a bloody fantastic lens it is! I've always been a bit sceptical with zoom lenses as the original 18-55 I had quite a while ago was pretty rubbish to be honest and I haven't been near the Fuji zooms since 2013!

However, I couldn't resist the call of the 16-55 when I picked up an X-H1 a couple of months ago and I am blown away by it. Yes, it's big & heavy, but it fits the X-H1 perfectly and the quality of the images from it are superb. If you're happy to be seen out with one as they are pretty big - definitely go for it!

Thanks all, for helping me spend my money. Just hit the button on a used one from The Classic Camera in London :) I think i`m done for glass now, apart from ................................... ;)

So the Budget controller has freed up some funds and I’ve got GAS.

Been thinking for a while I’d like a 90mm f2 or 50-140 to go with the X-H1 & 16-55 I have. I’ve never shot anything longer than a 56mm before now so not sure if I’d really get the use from a 90mm, never mind the 50-140mm.

However reading everything about the X100v has given me a bit of GAS for one of those now, albeit I’d have to shop hard as the Budget controller isn’t that generous for a full fat priced one. Maybe a case of waiting and catching one on the refurb site in reality.

Decisions, decisions eh?!

Is the V much better than the F? They have F`s on the refurb site ;)

That depends - if you can live with all the following:-

Slightly Soft Lens at F2
No WR - but I've buried mine (F) half in mud, and given it a very hard impact when I broke my ankle and it still works fine
Slightly less resolution
Flippy Screen
Slightly Faster AF
Focus point being retained on orientation, the only annoying feature on the F and it came after the X-T2 where this was implemented...grrr.....
£600 more in your pocket

Then the F is for you, otherwise get the V as you will eventually anyway!

One of my shots of Fontwell Down took off yesterday for some reason...

That's a very nice close up style Fujigraph, with some good colour and fine detail. Great use of the 10-24mm lens.

George.

It wasn`t for me, but @wibbly , really. Two camera bodies is plenty enough for me ;) But I know what you lot are like lol

Oops, wrong section

Not necessarily...

I started with the X-F1 then worked my way up through all the X-?0 series, X-Pro 1, X-T 1 & 2 and an X-H 1 so with your X-30 being the gateway drug Fuji, you may well join the ranks of the bigger X series CSC users sooner rather than later!!!

But we like to be 'above average!!! I'm sure @Fuji Dave is the worst offender here, I've only got 6 Fujifilm cameras, but they are spread across 40 years!

1980 STX-1N
1996 GSW690III
2000 MX2900
2012 X100
2017 X100F
2019 X-H1

Don't know what the problem is...................

Not sure what you've to decide really? C'mon magpie. Look at the shiny shiny :P15924108170249052176201308612027.jpg

Pretty much all those things really are what I quite like in the V. Just a shame IBIS is missing off that list.

Ive had an F before and it was a great little camera, I think the updates for the V probably make it worthwhile.

I`m sure he is ;)

Actually, that`s not a bad spread, considering some ;)

But if you add the Fujifilm's I've had and sold, its not so pretty :ROFLMAO: XF1, X-E1, X-E1 IR Converted, X-E2, X-T1, and X-T2........and I bought my wife an X-T20 (which she still has)

Oh and I forgot I have Instax 90 as well.....................

and lets not get into glass - though amazingly I've never repurchased a lens that I've sold :)

I still don’t think that’s bad! I’ve currently got 2 Fuji’s, 2 Leicas and a Ricoh :crying:

Ha ha, so true.
Already had 2 X70s and a XE2s and I'm soooooooo tempted with the refurb X100F offer, may move X30 on and join the big boys

Cheers George, always looking to do something a little bit different when I'm out.

Well I only have 3 Fuji's, a pair of T2's and a T3. I also have my Canon 620 film camera, and that is old, the first of the EOS era, along with the 650.

Oh, and then there is the pair of Ixus digitals I bought for my wife, and the Nikon underwater film camera I have as well....

:LOL::LOL:

GFX50 R oooops (y)

One Camera to rule them all, One Camera to find them,
One Camera to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them

Just sell all the others, you'll have more than enough for a Leica Fujifilm GFX

But the lenses are even more expensive than our X series stuff...... I'd love one, I really would. But I'd still need something for my birdies....
