The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

EDIT: I've also just found this video from Kevin Mullins. Very interesting that the glass is the same in the I and II versions. He also shows a cool little trick of reversing the lens. It's only a short video.

No optical differences (or external physic differences) - only difference is a small internal magnet so that the camera can autodetect the converter (F and V only), the magnet is round one way for WCL and the oopposite polarity (but in same position) for TCL. It is very easy to 'upgrade' an Mk1 to a Mk2 with a small magnet (plenty on ebay) and either a small piece of tape, blob of epoxy or glue, its not as scary as it sounds and you can save some money - plenty of internet advice!

I got the black so it didn't show any dirty marks too.

Don't forget you need to buy the strap too(y)

Ah, didn't realise the strap was seperate. Will look again haha.

Yes well this is what I now plan on doing but trying to find both for sale in black is hard. I've taken apart lenses and cameras to clean them etc so this is well within my remit. Those were scary, scary things trying to put them all back together and make sure they're working lol. Not done it in a while though.

@YoshiK1 LCE have a black used WCL Mk2 https://www.lcegroup.co.uk/Used/FujiFilm-WCL-X100-MK2-Black_275773.html

I am on my 3rd WCL, I bought a silkver one originally to go with my X100, I sold this when I bought a wide angle for my X-E2, I then bought both the black WCL and black TCL from @Barrysprout when he decided to change his X100 out, fitted magents, was happy until I the WCL fell out my coat pocket when at sitting at SHrewsbury STation, denting the filter ring, I lived with it for a bit but bit the bullet sold it (very cheap!) and bought a WCL Mk2

Even though I don't really like my TCL, I'm loathe to sell it (sorry!) as the collector in me likes the set!

If you use EBay UK, there is a brand new TCL (Mk1 but easy to convert with a magnet, optically exactly the same) from CameracentreUK. It is priced at £219 but using the code PANORAMA will take 10% off making it £197.1. If you a TopCashBack user, EBay is offering a further 3% cashback off the discounted price.

Cameracentre UK are FujiFilm UK dealers in Cardiff and I have bought off them a couple of times without problem. All items have registered with FujiFilm UK for the UK warranty.

If it was silver I would have bought it!

You can buy the same lens converter from the same seller from Amazon for £189.99 !!!! https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fujifilm-T...t=&hvlocphy=9046458&hvtargid=pla-905863458707

@trevorbray I noticed you liked my comment.
I believe you may have taken advantage of the same offer I did last August :D
If only time machines existed!

Certainly did. They’re going nowhere. Thanks for the tip.

My only dilemma is that I bought them both in black, but I really like the look of the silver X100V so may need to swap colour at some point if/when I upgrade the F.
Not sure I could cope with using black converters on a silver camera

Shouldn't have sold the first set :D:p:D of course you could sell the black ones to @YoshiK1 and the X100F to @Jelster and buy a silver X100V.....................

A nice reply from a man now carrying a manbag

I may have found a new project to keep me busy for a while. Quite well known this place, and this was only meant to be a quick rece... But you can't ignore skies like that :D

Will be back regularly, watching the colours change as the crops mature.

That is a stunning sky, well captured :)

Thanks @Mr Perceptive for the info. I've seen all these. Trying to be super cheap and get the MKI first but if not I'll just get the MKII.

@Barrysprout sell me your black ones for a good price ;) you know a solver X100V makes sense......

I'd love to but the forum has rules about profiteering, and I'm not letting them go for the price I paid [emoji16] sorry.

Well I don't know how much you paid and I don't care lol. It's not profiteering if you're pricing them as per market value. It profiteering if you bought them last week for 50p then sell them on here for £250 ;)

C'mon, show me what ya got :P

Oh, I've got two bags for my X100 as well so that I can match my outfit

Domke F-X5B Brown ruggedwear for Jeans/shorts T-shirt days

And a Tenba Cooper 8 for smarter days :D

I have never thought about that owning just the Domke F-X5B what a perfect excuse for another bag. Something for smarter days.

Another very nice close up style Fujigraph, really well composed with some very nice colours & detail.

George.

Thanks, George :)

Very nice animal portrait style Fujigrap, nicely composed with a good oof background and some fine colour & detail.

George.
Thanks George, was a lucky chance as we were there to see our new granddaughter but son let the rabbit out for a run and she is pretty cute :)

First one looks abit odd but the second one looks great - I’ve never thought about doing that myself (y)

Thanks, Alan
The first one is how it actually was. Bland blue (albeit processed). The cloudy sky was the one I added :)

It's defo a good job especially because the flowers cover and reveal the sky in quite intricate parts. The thing my eye keeps going to is the edges of the flowers because they're so sharp. I know they're sharp in the original but maybe a light feathering of the sharpness on the edges could help it blend into the sky more.

Cheers, mate
I`ve had another play around, and figured maybe the shy was a little too defined, so blurred that and the poppy edges ...
