The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

eBay and late night GAS, bad combination. Have just bought a x-pro 1, Certainly didn’t need it, but hay-ho.
Sounds familiar... mine was eBay and late night alcohol. For the small sum I paid for it I have no regrets, the images from it are superb and the fact it takes a bit more time for some shots isn't a bad thing. I'm sure you'll enjoy it :)

Quick question over film simulation, do you set it for each photo or can you do it in PP, I tend to use ON1, but could fire up Light room if I have to.
XT3 has impressed me, the EVF is impressive coming from the a6000 and the dials are great fun. Yet to set anything up though, just capture without lens, centre focus and that's it. I think that is one of the cameras strengths to be honest, pick up and go, no faffing in menus. I will have to sit down and go through them at some point.

Many editing applications have functionality for film simulations (to be applied to RAW files), but these are not quite the same recipe as those used in the camera. Generally they are pretty good, and usually acceptable, but if you want the Fujifilm version of the simulation its only available in the camera, so you either have to re-process the RAW in camera or use Fujifilm X-RAW Studio.

OK that is good to know I don't need to set anything in camera, just shoot and then decide in PP, thank you for that, downloading now. . I like the idea of in camera RAW processing, purely for instant posting online with whatever film sim I have chosen, cool feature to have.

I really enjoyed playing with the X Pro 2 today, whilst I love the output of the XP1 the 2 is much nicer to use. I think I will have a look at the XP3 when they drop in price a bit.

It even managed to make my car look clean from a distance :)

Very nice indeed Rick. If and when you get a Xpro 3, mine is still in the Classified.

Some great customer service from Fuji this morning. I asked whether i could upgrade the delivery to next day on my x100f as they only quote 2-3 days delivery on the refurbished shop as the only option. I sent the email at 0713 and received a reply back at 0753 stating they will deliver tomorrow at no extra charge. Very impressed with their customer service.

Lol - you're not alone. I had 2x Fs at different times last year and now have a V !

Yes i have being watching with interest all the thought processes that happen, it can be a nightmare backwards and forwards all the time. One day i will settle with the one :-)

Thank you iam hoping i keep this one longer than i did last time.:)

Haha! I'm saying this about my inbound X100V. I had the X100T for a few weeks then sold it to fund an upgrade on my primary camera but have regretted it since. Hope you enjoy it and keep it haha.

It's only money :)

I refuse to return my new V - am enjoying it so far, but if the buyers remorse/lack of motivation sets in I will force myself !

Hmmm £599 in the refurb store...

It was too good to resist for me. If you compare it to the prices from MPB at the moment which are at £689 for one in an excellent condition and £729 for one in a new condition. Its a no brainer if you are in the market for this model at the moment.

I just think it will be an excellent camera to take walking, rather than a T2/T3 & 10-24. It will also be handy when I go fishing too. It ticks a number of boxes, but my issue right now is I have an alloy wheel that may need to be replaced after an argument with a pothole.

I can't really afford both, so I need to hang fire until the new tyre goes on the wheel, and see if it inflates!!

I know the pain of this i had the same just before covid with brake discs and an electrical fault nearly £500 worth, I dislike cars.

My OH has slowly getting into photography over the last few years, nothing too serious but she enjoys taking photos when she's waiting for me to take photos (lol) She bought a little Canon EOS M in 2015 which she's used loads and loves, but at the weekend she decided it was time to upgrade. I let her play with my X-T2 for a bit and she liked it enough that she's bought an X-T20 of her own :D

One of us! One of us!

The smarter option would have been to hand over your X-T2 and buy yourself an upgade ;). Next time haha.

You know, I did think that. I could have given her the T2 for a little bit more than she paid for the T20, and then put the money towards a T3. But then I'd still be paying £400 + to go from T2 to T3! I'd rather keep the T2 and put the money towards an X-Pro2 or a 100F. Don't tell her I said that though... apparently I have enough cameras :muted: :schtum:

I mean, if your Mrs isn't as observant as mine then you could tell her it's the same camera this whole time. I've had X-T2, X-T3, X-T4 and Sony cameras and used the same response. At least I think she doesn't know, she really doesn't pay attention to anything other than dogs and clothes lol. If she does then she plays a bloody better game than I haha.

If I was sure there would be a firmware update to add the same AF capability as the T4 I'd buy that now.

Is that T for 2 or 2 for T Carl :LOL::LOL:

Anyone ever use the TCL-X100 II? Especially if on an X100V then lemme hear from you.

I'm tempted by this to make it 50mm as I like that FL too however I've read some reviews that it degrades the image which I would have expected. I've also seen some images taken with it and they're awesome, so much so that I can't tell the difference in IQ between the 23mm on the camera and the TCL. However, this is someone who edits photos for instagram etc so I'm looking for someone who has a real world review of it and the IQ.

Flopsy! Visited son and wife and our new grandchild. Rabbit was having a run around the garden so couldn't resist :)

Very nice animal portrait style Fujigrap, nicely composed with a good oof background and some fine colour & detail.

I have it, the IQ is great, you'd be very hard pushed to tell the difference in IQ with the standard lens and either of the converters. Note I only have the original and the F, so not experienced the V with the TCL, but @Mark Dell on here has shot with it quite a bit, so he can probably comment on that.

My biggest bugbear with it, and one that I struggle to see past, is its size and weight, and when added to the camera really upsets the balance of the camera, in a way that the WCL doesn't. Personally if this was my main focal length of choice I would rather put a 35mmF1.4 or Zeiss 32mm F1.8 on a ILC Fujifilm body.

Thanks for the info. I'm not worried about the balance of the camera as I would have it on a tripod for some woodland shots. I like the 50mm for that. Perhaps I might take it into street but it would be seldom so I wouldn't be too fussed. Thanks

I've got it for woodland shots on the v and it looks to be fantastic looking at test shots on the screen. I was happy with the 35mm but there were a couple of shots I couldn't use zoom walk to, so missed out.

Not been out with it yet but may manage it tomorrow. The wcl has just been delivered and that too looks amazing on the screen when zoomed in.

I can also confirm that the x100v, both converters, spare battery, hood and 2 size polarisers fit into my peak field bag. Small manbag full of my kit:banana:

just need to find a lightweight tripod that scales down to about 8 inches and extents to 58 inches :p

Awesomeness thanks. I'll need to get one on order then I think. Not fussed for the WCL at present but I'm sure I'll get round to adding it to the bag. Now to find a decent priced one. I do also need a better bag. I have a small Lowepro shoulder bag that I got years ago and it would all fit in there but it always digs at my neck when carrying it.

I've got a few lowepro shoulder bags and I never found them comfy. They have either cut into my shoulder/neck or keep swinging in front of me. The best was a nova 180, but it's massive compared to an x100v!

Can you show me the bag you have?

Found a TCL on Park Cameras for £249.99

EDIT: I've also just found this video from Kevin Mullins. Very interesting that the glass is the same in the I and II versions. He also shows a cool little trick of reversing the lens. It's only a short video.

here's my man bag, you need a peak slide to use as a strap. Luckily I have 3 in storage

Got my converters from Amazon, watch the prices because they fluctuate up and down a lot. Silver are cheaper too. If you struggle with stock Fuji had them in last week. Price buster may help to save a few pennies or pounds!

Oooooo that's nice and a great price too. Might have to pick up a black one because I would get the others dirty haha! Thanks

I got the black so it didn't show any dirty marks too.

Don't forget you need to buy the strap too(y)
