The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

I was bored this morning so did this....

I've decided that I'm not going to stick with the beard, so I'll do another lot when I've shaved it off....

This was T3 & 35mm, with my Godox flash off camera right, slightly behind, firing into a reflective brolly.

Very nice close up style Fujigraph, bang on the tools challenge theme with good contrasty lighting and nicely presented in mono.

George.

Trying some natural light coming through the window, X-H1 + XF80mm f2.8.

Very nice close up style Fujigraph, well positioned in the frame with loads of detail.

Four very nice selfie type Fujigraphs, with good lighting, no reflections in the spec's, well controlled exposure and bags of detail.

Thanks George, a bit too much detail, you can see the dust on my specs!!

I have some reflectors in the studio (well garage) but sometimes resort to some tin foil with a few creases in it, works wonders.

Thank you George for the nice words, and for the tip so will try that next time.

I usually find tin foil reflectors work best when they have been screwed up and then opened out, that way you avoid a lot of highlights on your subject. I'm a huge fan of just plain old white card reflectors to just shove a bit of light into shadows.

One for the "Tools Challenge".
Just a simple close up style Fujigraph take in my home studio of part of my hand holding an old meter. Shot taken using a large format lens on a self made fully adjustable lens panel & bellows with lighting provided by three Studio Flash Heads each with a largish Soft box fitted and against a Red Paper background.

X-H1, Schneider 120mm F5.6 Makro-Symmar Lens, 1/125th @ F11, ISO-200, Self Made Lens Panel & Bellows, Multi Studio Flash.

George that's blooming marvellous - pure quality..!!

Love large format lenses for their utter quality, my eldest brother when he owned his own professional studio had a few Sinar P2 large format pro cameras/bellows and Schneider APO lenses etc, along with a full Makita RZ67/RB67 systems.
Bowens soft boxes galore....

wOw great memories with exceptional end results.

Thanks for posting that George - appreciated.

still enjoying it mate?
Yes but not had much time to take more photos.... what photos I have taken so far has made me realise that I prefer the more slower approach to photography.... one shot at a time.
It's a quality bit of kit and I don't feel bad at all having dumped the more expensive setup I had before. (used the money to throw into Tesla stocks).
Are you still thinking about one? ;)

I would like to introduce you all to my daughters Twins who were born at 28 weeks in the early hours of this morning. I am so 100% over the moon, Leo and Sunny are doing well at the moment. I thought it would be great to share some great news.

Surprised that a large format lens produces such a fine image on such as small sensor. The design specifications in large format certainly never needed to include the prospect of such huge magnifications. though the macro designation of that lens certainly envisioned it being used for close up work. The expectation is that it also has a very flat and wide field which should excel when used with movements.
It looke like it would be Ideal for use in commercial product photography.

Massive congratulations, such a momentus occasion.
A few sleepless night lay ahead no doubt but it'll be all worth it. All the best to you all. Keep safe and well.

Fantastic news Dave and lovely images. Photographing 2 toddlers will be a lot harder than one.
