The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Welcome. I jumped over to Fuji just before Xmas. There’s a fun factor with Fuji cameras that others just don’t have. Enjoy. :)

This is very true. I've tried it all at some point, FF dslr, APSC dslr, M43 ML and Fuji in between. It was the system I most wanted to get back to. I believe this system is the sweet spot. Also I look now at Canon's 'big news' about yet another FF ML and I think 'big deal! your images will be the same' [even the 8K video side must be meh for many videographers] - I think it's a lot more about the photographer themselves and the joy in using the gear over the technical aspects - they're not PCs, they're just cameras, think many forget this at times. Fuji are capable enough and fun to use - all we ever need.

Here's an image I took today (for another project - involving green items). I used the Velvia simulation, which I quite like for the punchy colours. Also a bit of an experiment for me using a speedlight.

Similar story here. Started with a crop sensor Canon. Moved to ’better‘ crop sensor for airshows. Got fed up of airshow photography so sold it all for full frame Nikon stuff ‘cos it’s ‘better’ for landscapes. Bought a M43 kit after lugging the Nikon stuff up Cadair Idris nearly put me in A&E. Decided Fuji was the best middle ground between IQ and weight/size, plus the cameras are cute, so sold the M43 stuff. MPB should give me share options.. :p

I went through 4 Nikon dslr in 10 years, I just stuck with the system because there just weren't many other great options. When Fuji ML did start to take off I always had an eye on it, watching it progress. Once I did get a taste, and it was just the old X-T1, I just couldn't go back to mirrored dslr. I would much prefer M43 if I had to chose. And since Fuji is about the best APSC ML system right now, it makes the most sense unless you really cannot resist the so-called 'FF look' that many refer to.

There are a lot of APSC systems around, but I honestly believe Fuji's is the best value when you consider bodies, lenses and IQ. Yeah, there are cheaper bodies out there, but they're not as good as the Fuji X range, and our lenses are just superb. I love using the gear, but if it gave me poor output I wouldn't.

All I need to do now is learn how to process what comes out!:LOL::LOL:

@imattersuk - snap

I was out in my back garden at 10.34 last night hoping for a glimpse of the starlink satellites (to no avail).
Managed to capture two different moving objects though cannot confirm what they were.

This is my first dip into astro. I am quite please considering this was taken in the heart of Edinburgh so light pollution was everywhere.

I'm 3 miles from Heathrow and noticed a huge drop in pollution recently, only seeing about 5 planes a day and the M3 is almost empty, it's bliss. Makes me even more determined to make the move to Fuerteventura, going to struggle when the traffic and flights start again.

It's too easy to adjust to a quieter life, I feel for you when it all ramps back up again!

Ha ha your will power is better than mine, I would have just had an empty glass to photograph :ROFLMAO:

It didn`t take long, mate. Trust me ;)

Got very side tracked by PCs for a while there, must get back to this challenge!

I'm also pondering on some vintage primes too, been a while since I had one, I remember having some fun using them

Just had email from WEX with Fuji discount codes so if anyone is ordering stuff today, check your emails first.!
I’ve bought a few things from Wex but never received discount codes. Enjoy.

My JJC extension tubes finally arrived today so prepare for a wealth of crap up close out of focus photos :p

I did nothing else for a couple of weeks when I got mine. If you have the 35 f1.4, they make an excellent partnership.
