The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Yes the EVF is 'Eye sensor' only - you can't have it permanently on, it would deplete the battery at a fast rate if it was, if you must have it you'll have to tape over the eye sensor at the bottom of the eye cup.
Thanks for explaining - it was more for when I was shooting sport / fast action. Perhaps because of my slower card and burst photos I was experiencing a lag when putting the camera up to my eye

i'll be in the market for an X-Pro2 around the end of April-Mid May point if anyone is thinking of selling.

Thanks, but dont really want to spend that.

Get a used one on mpb or wex... Oh wait, they're more expensive and you won't get a box and be lucky if there's a hood lol.

You'll be lucky to get a nice copy cheaper than that, when I asked if anyone had one spare here just other week I just got a bunch of replies telling me they had one but never selling!

Having a brand new one I know I could actually sell it for more than I paid at any time. Unlike the bodies, some lenses just keep their value

Yeah, used dealer prices are crazy. I remember the good old days when a mint one was easy to pickup for 240-250 and there were loads about, not sure why its become such a luxury item lol.

Same here, I think it's that people tend to keep them now so they're not flooding the used market, but I do remember them going used for £260+ even on here. Hope you get one anyhow

I sold my original one with the T1 body but I'd say at the time I let it go for about that in the package

Keep your eyes on the classified lads, all I will say is I got a two Scratch cards today so it could be another clear out and Hello Xpro3 and X-T4 :banana::banana:

Can I have first refusal on the X-Pro 2 please (pretty please!):love::love::snaphappy::snaphappy::kiss::kiss::kiss::kiss::kiss::kiss::kiss::kiss::kiss::kiss:

Shooting in situations which prove a challenge for AF - sports and people in motion. I'm trying to improve my skills and also finding the limitations of the X-H1 & 56mm f1.2 combo. I do find currently my keep rate is pretty low when using AF-C and expanding the spot / using zone AF. The 56mm's AF isn't quite as snappy as I'm used to on my Nikon 24-70 combo, but it's again perhaps because I'm using too wide an aperture and the wrong lens for intended purpose. Still portraiture using AF-S and eye & face is accurate and I love the results, but as soon as I introduce movement, the keep rate for me falls lower than I would have liked with what sometimes looks like motion blur even at 1/250 with IBIS on. I'm shooting MS with UHS-1 cards. What are fellow TPer's experiences with keep rate, AF-C, Face Detect ON and shooting between f1.2 & f2 with say 2 people walking towards the camera filling the majority of the frame? Is it important to fill to have your subject's faces within the central area of the frame, and are you able to achieve sharp eyes reliably or is spot focus better or even Manual Focus?

The 56mm is quite pedestrian in AF terms, so with this lens I would expect your 'keeper' rate to be perhaps less, its definitely quicker with X-T3 and X-T4. Face Detect on X-H1/X-T2 etc is reasonable but nowhere near as good as X-T3 and that can't hold a candle top X-T4. X-T4 AF is very fast, it really is noticeably faster than previous generations.

While I'm asking questions :-P - what's a good flash option for the Fuji X series that's not too big? I'm guessing my Nikon flash won't work on there. Still to try the one that come in the box with the camera - any good?
