The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

I really did think about getting both the V and T4, but after all the reviews on the T4 I thought it`s not really a great upgrade from the 3 but as I was missing the X100F so much it had to be the black beauty V :D
Ahhh you have gone for the Black X100V...... skip the Fujifilm WR kit and just buy the actual AH-X100 Adaptor + Hood Set..... then buy the B+W Filter off me :p lol

When my H1 goes in the classified it will be cheaper than the one just sold, as I`m keeping the batteries for spare.
So X-H1 and one battery and grip will go in soon.
Cheaper.... :o Gulp I must resist. :D

You will have to wait and see, as Wex had neither of them in when I had to reorder.

Well that was quick.
I was in a conf call and by the time it had finished you'd sold the lot !

Still got the 18mm for sale. But photos are going up tomorrow when I bring the lot back.
Then next week my mint RX100 III is going.

Just for interest, the metal hood for the 60mm f2.4 fits on the 35 f1.4 and works amazingly well. Yes, it looks a bit longer with it on, but it's better than that short "square" unit that comes with it.

That is interesting ... could get a third party one maybe, to keep the metal hood minty in case I ever do sell on. People are very fussy about that hood. I already stuck the rubber cover and lens cap back into the box, never use them once I have a hood on a lens.

Hmm, might have taken the grip on it's own, though \i say that every time I see one going cheap and then think I'd probably rarely use it

I've joined you all, looking forward to trying a newer gen (not latest) fuji. :)

Welcome! Though, didn't you have some Fuji in the past already?

Just seen it now, you'll like the H1, of course you will say it's not a patch on a Sony :D but you will like it once you get it set up to your liking ;) [Dave probably has it already set up nicely]

 Fuji X-H1 is nice....... OOC JPEG + desired film simulations chap, will save you time not having to faff about post-processing. :D
I was tempted but I really need to stick to my plan and get to grips with the X100V on a more long-term basis.

Ive had loads of fujis in the past, f31, a Bridge, X100, x100s, xm, xa, xe1, xe2, xt1. Always liked them, esp the xt, just slower af and xtrans pp wasnt great back then.

My first non compact digi cam was a Fuji, the old s1000fd. Fantastic camera for its time, I learned pretty much the basics of manual controls using it. Only when I hit it's limits I started to look at dslr. It had a limit of 8sec - 1/2000 and would drop from 10 to 3mp once you passed ISO 1600, not that you would have wanted to. But it was that little bridge that got me proper hooked, had a zillion crappy compacts previous all the way through from film to early digital era - always had a camera on me, but never really had bothered to learn what was actually happening during exposure until I got that wee Fuji

Yeah I can relate to that...... I am finding the AF and Eye-AF on my Fuji X100V extremely good, still not Sony A9 levels of speed but I am no longer gunning it at 20fps..... I am back to taking photos at a slower 1fps to slow things down. It adds to the fun.
Technically the Sony system is unbeatable but it's not exactly engaging or fun for me. :)

My first Fuji was the original X100, serial no Nxxxxx391 (first batch).

I never use any AF mode outside of SP-AF and cant remember any time I kicked myself for missing a shot I aimed for

For the life of me I can’t find a setting on the X-H1 to keep the EVF on without it switching back and forwards between the EVF and the rear display. Can anybody help?

View Mode..... ? :D

Do you mean the dedicated button? The EVF still seems to switch off as soon as you take your eye away

Yes the EVF is 'Eye sensor' only - you can't have it permanently on, it would deplete the battery at a fast rate if it was, if you must have it you'll have to tape over the eye sensor at the bottom of the eye cup.
