The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

That's why it got all the likes, obviously.....

I don't want to skip over posts in this thread, generally it's informative and inspirational. It doesn't need handbags at dawn.

Go you with your likes. I've gotten more for iffy images, maybe I should get them to a gallery! :D it's not FB!

I don't take dumb crap from anyone, if someone tries to call me out claiming I'm talking 'BS' [like twist did] then they're getting some backlash, it is that simple. As I said, we moved on, how about doing the same

Ding Ding .......... Round 2

This forum need a "Ring" section for peeps to slog it out, without disrupting said threads imo ;)

It just needs people to stop being so melodramatic and learn to move along tbh. It wasn't even much of an argument, about as tame as it gets on here, this thread is just not known for it usually

Cheers guys! It's a real person. I waited there for a little while and took photos of a few different people that came past. Most of them didn't work (couples, people on phones, bulky clothing, hats, etc) but this guy walked past and had the perfect shaped silhouette!

Interesting, their profile is very sharp and almost looks like a drawn character, so nicely spotted. And it is a very pleasing image.

Just what I did, I fancied one, and today I got a 90mm f2 courtesy of @StewartR at Lenses For Hire to try out. Absolutely loving the 'futuristic' feel of the X-H1 and the 90mm f2 is amazing.

I'm still thinking of an H-1, but Fuji’s lack of updates leaves me thinking it’s been abandoned by them

I think they're done with the H-1, not even sure what I'd like an update on. Maybe improvements to the responsiveness of the touch screen, any improvement to IBIS is a plus too for me, don't really care about much else [that would be possible for the H1] - I guess many H1 users might like improvements to the Face detect as it's terrible as is

Definitely face detect for me as I’d use it almost entirely for portraiture. That’s where IBIS comes in so useful imo

Yeah but if it's good enough to get the job done who needs updates ?
Agreed. Looking at Lightroom it’s still my most used body. But I do like the face detection and eye af of the T3

Just upgrading the X-T3 firmware now, I'm pleased it says it also fixes the focus hinting issue on video. :) I'l give it a test over the weekend as I am going to do some portrait shots.

Just downloaded and installed the new Firmware. Seems to have caused some issues on my X-T3....

One appears to be a flickering of the EVF and LCD when focusing but the main issue is the LCD and EVF now display very dim with a huge vignette. The color temp of the screen is also much warmer than it was before the update...

EDIT: Ignore everything I just wrote. Didnt realise id flicked it into ADV mode! What a plonker!

I've not looked at mine, I'll have a look in a bit, you can't roll back firmware yourself, it needs a Fuji tech to be able to do that I believe.

Just had a look, no issues here, I can't speak on any improvements, but I can't see any issues that you are experiencing.

I've just completed the update and all good. The eye AF appears to be excellent.

First impressions are good here too. I had a play around with the eye auto-focus in a badly lit upstairs rooms, using my daughter for 'target practice'. It seemed to be pretty tenacious, keeping a good track as I got my daughter to move around, in and out of shade and towards and away from me. It wasn't much of a test but so far, so good. I haven't used a recent Sony, so can't tell how it compares.

Yes it is all good here.:)

Heads Up.,

I expect most of you already know that “Luminar 3” software is currently “100% FREE” to download and use. I’ve been playing around with it for the last couple of days and I must say I’m pretty impressed with what can be done using it.

It handles Fuji-X RAW files extremely well including those converted to DNG which I still prefer to do. There's loads of fully adjustable presets including one that applies a kinda bleached look to your shots which I’ve been trying to replicate manually for ages without much success.

Anyway if any of you fancy giving it a go all you need to do is type :- skylum.com/dcw-luminar into the address bar and follow the instructions.

George.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll download it and have a play (y)

Edit: Just had a look and it's not free on their site, where've you found it for free?

I got it from the very place that I have posted, If you click on through it'll take you to the downloading section and it'll give you a complimentary activation code.

I've just checked it again and it's still offering "Luminar 3" for Free. Just copy and paste what I have put below.

Cool, thanks very much. I missed that sentence with the link in your last post for some reason

Working but saving or exporting an image seems not to, for me.

I'm having the same issue. I also have a very obvious, bright orange 'Buy Now' button in the top left hand corner of the app window, which is making me wonder if this copy isn't registered properly. I downloaded from the email confirmation link, so I'm not sure why that would be. Clicking the link takes me to a 'choose your version' window which reckons Luminar 3 is $69. Odd.

Downloaded Luminar 3. Looks good at first glance. What are the attended benefits of upgrading to Luminar 4? Are there any?

Did you register it?
They send you a registration code which you need to input.

I haven't received a registration code (at least, not yet). Just a download link, following registration with my email address.

Edit: I lied. Another email arrived with the code. Sorry for the misinformation!

Anyone used the 56 on latest xt3 fw? Apparently it's made af performance worse.
I'll be trying it on Sunday with the 56, seems odd if it is only affecting that lens.

I didn't get the code and only got a trial version

The code converts it to the full thing.
Check your spam folders.

I suspect that this is a 10 T error ;)
Not in my spam, I'll try again and see if it lets me download again with the same email.
