A dash to my favourite local, 'short-notice' location the other morning. I woke to a mist and fog warning on the Met Office app on my 'phone. I was dressed and out of the house in ten minutes as sunrise was about to happen. Just made it. Really nice to just sit around and watch the sun burn through the mist.

The XC35mm F2 looks to be exactly the same inners as the XF35 F2, that is going t be a bargain when they start hitting the used market for anyone who doesn't care about weather resistance.

Ok...the Autorotate question...autorotate needs to be off, then the image will display in the orientation captured, filling the screen.
It did take Cambrian Photography a while to nail down this slightly counter-intuitive menu option.
And I went in with an X T-30, and came out with a minter second hand X T-3 and a lighter wallet.
Thanks to all for their advice.

Went for a trip to Kimmeridge today and a fleeting visit to Swanage.

Light was flat, it was cold, and misty in places, but that wasn't going to dent my enthusiasm....

Must be time for a big stopper & mono!!

Thanks Keith agree with you about the mystique, my favourites conditions are the foggy/ misty mornings. Throw in some frost and I'm a happy chap.

Another from yesterday. The whole idea of the trip was to shoot some stuff for the walls indoors. I think this one, with the mist over the cliffs to the left, makes for a better piece of wall art than what I posted yesterday.

Thanks all! It is a nice building - called Folly Bridge House - and you can actually stay there if you visit Oxford.

There is an even more impressive building in front of it, which was built in the mid 1800s for the mathematician Joshua Cardwell (Google Streetview link) but its size makes it difficult to fit into a sensible composition!

Ive got the Fittest one (Chinese eBay special), it’s ok, but to be honest I only put it on when I want to use a tripod, as it’s quite bulky and makes access to the front thumb wheel difficult

I'll have a look around. Camera grip feels a little slipper. I guess I could just keep the wrist strap attached for safety.

I normally use a wrist strap, just a simple paracord one. Mine has taken several hard knocks and still works fine (smashed base on pavement tripping over curb in Birmingham, half buried in mud at Corris, Wales, taking a very heavy hit when I fell recently in Snowdonia, all imapct was taken on lens hood in last one, which dented and crushed it!). They are tough little things.

Mines a keepers so I'm not too bothered about long term cosmetic condition, though obviously I would prefer if it still looked nice, you on the other hand need to keep it pristine as it will be up for sale later next week !!!!

I bought the 18-135 recently for a project that needed it's focal range and I needed to try it out, so I nipped up to Fleetwood yesterday morning to have a look at the abandoned fishing boats on the marsh. The light was crap and the mud was slippy, but it was a good opportunity to try the lens out. It seems sharp enough when stopped down and the stabilisation is excellent.
