The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Cheers, will have a look. I've had decent prints from Aldi-print in the past and did a whole wedding album on Photobox that was really impressive. Once the quality is there I don't mind who does the printing :)

Aw, thought it might be the case "Currently we do not deliver outside of the UK"

Where are you based?

The Irish midlands. There is a Vistaprint here, but they don't seem to do the vinyl posters in the same size options, or prices for that matter but I'll have a root through their .ie websites

Think there might be quite a few jazz shots in the next few days, as a jazz singer is doing some gigs in town as she came over from LA
I'm very much into Jazz myself.

Have you heard of (American) Scott Hamilton the Tenor Saxophone player..? Sublime talent and style, I've had the pleasure of seeing him play live a few times -- simply wOOw

I used to play Clarinet semi-professionally a long time ago.

Don`t think I`ve heard of him, but I have bookmarked the link to have a read. For me I totally love a saxophone in jazz gigs.

Have just ordered the 16-80, seeing everyone's opinions on here can be helpful, but looking forward to getting mine and finding out for myself.

Can someone with a T3 and H1 please confirm if this is normal.

On the T3 in aperture priority the camera shows the exposure on the screen without the need to press any buttons, so basically it will show the required shutter speed.

On the H1, I only get to see the shutter speed with the shutter half pressed. When I use the BBF button it focusses as it should but I only see the required SS on the half shutter press, this is using BBF on both cameras.

I hope the makes sense.

Click the disp/back button a couple times to change to a full view. On my H1 in aperture priority I can see all settings inc SS. On the clear display view it'll only show when I half press the shutter

I'm afraid it's not that, when I say I can't see it, what I mean is I can see the F stop, the ISO but the area where SS should be is blank, and then appears when I half press the shutter. Is there a way to take a sot of the screen. I'll take a screen shot (literally) if that helps... :)

Odd then, it's showing for me here in white like it does for Dave

I was hoping not to have to do a reset, but I guess I might have to :(

Strange, mine is on AF-S and it all shows
Ive just reset the shooting menu and it shows now. Very odd, thanks for confirming there was something amis :)

At least you got it sorted (y)

I had to actually stop and think 'where's Aperture priority on this thing' to check :ROFLMAO: As I'm mostly in M or a weird combo of T on the SS [to adjust it on the front wheel], A on ISO and also choose choose aperture manually on the lens.

Thanks both, really weird, but now i'm happy with it :) I'm going to take the H1 to Butlins with me next week for a bit of a play around. The joys of a 4 year old and half term! First time at a Butlins in my 55 years :D

Are are everyone using for remote releases? My understanding is that a Canon remote can be used in the port on the left of my X-T2, or an old school screw in release into the shutter button...

Also, I'm encouraging my friend to buy his first proper camera - Jessops seem to have a great deal on an X-T20 with the XC15-45 and XC50-230 lenses. How good is the XC15-45 lens?

Probably decent for a kit lens as Fuji don’t make bad lenses!

For shutter release what about the app?

Personally, not great. I did not think much of it at all.

A better choice would be a micro 4/3 kit. Smaller, very similar image quality and cheaper.

The 18-55 fuji is definitely worthwhile, perfectly good lens and still small, which compares nicely to full frame 28-80ish zooms in terms of image quality while being built nicer and having a much higher quality feel. Does your friend need the telephoto? I admit that telephoto isn't fuji's strongest suit in terms of value right now, compared to primes (ignoring the mad 200mm f/2).

Used there are some right bargains around. For a proper camera, an xt20 and the 18-55 would be amazing. In my limited opinion.

I use an old school screw in cable release on my X-E3. It's a vintage cullman item that is vinyl coated, lockable and a good length at 78cm. A bonus is that I can use it with my mamiya film cameras.

I’d rather not be messing about with the app/Wi-Fi. I will remember it as an emergency back up

I’ve got X-T2 and 18-55, so know how good X-T20 and that lens would be, but not sure if it is £200 + a telephoto lens better!

My friend definitely wants new, and was after a DSLR, but likes the Fuji colours. He’s coming from a bridge camera with long zoom, so was keen for a longer lens.

Bought one. I'll give it a try. At least with Amazon, their returns policy is immense

Sorry, thought used may be an option... :/

I found the xc lens was not really all that good and definitely preferred the small m43 set up as a comparison. I have not tried the tele xc lens so no comments on that I'm afraid!
